Shownotes

In this episode of the You World Order Showcase Podcast, host Jill Hart interviews Francine Juhlin, the creator of the Confidence Club for Kids and host of the Parents Talk podcast. Francine has a remarkable story, transitioning from a 30-year career as an aircraft electrician in the Navy and Army National Guard to becoming an advocate for personal transformation, particularly for children. Her mission is to help raise confident and strong kids today so that society won’t have to fix broken adults tomorrow.

From the Military to Helping Kids: Francine’s Journey

Francine’s journey began with a successful military career. She worked as an aircraft electrician and later joined the Army National Guard, where she served in Iraq. However, when it came time to retire, Francine found herself at a crossroads. Her identity had always been tied to her military career, and she struggled to figure out who she was beyond the uniform.

The stress of this uncertainty began to take a toll on her health—her liver started shutting down, and she was over 100 pounds overweight. Francine knew she needed to make a change, but like many people in transition, she had no idea where to start.

Finding Herself Through Meditation and Holistic Health

With her health declining and no clear direction, Francine hired both a business coach and a holistic health coach. Surprisingly, both coaches gave her the same advice: start with meditation.

At first, Francine resisted. How could she meditate with all the thoughts constantly running through her head? But after giving it a try and educating herself, she realized that meditation wasn’t about stopping the thoughts, but rather about not getting attached to them. This realization helped her start clearing the mental clutter that was contributing to her stress and poor health.

Through meditation, Francine was able to calm her mind and start focusing on the root causes of her emotional struggles. One of the most significant realizations was that her unhealthy relationship with food and body image stemmed from comments made to her as a child. This programming led her into a lifelong cycle of dieting, emotional eating, and poor self-esteem.

Breaking the Cycle

Francine’s big mantra now is “Break the cycle.” She’s seen how childhood experiences shape adults’ behavior and emotional well-being. Francine’s own childhood was filled with damaging messages about her body—comments like, “You’d be such a pretty girl if you just lost some weight” stuck with her for decades. These internalized beliefs contributed to her struggle with weight and self-image.

Francine emphasizes the importance of reprogramming the mind. For her, this meant replacing negative thoughts with positive affirmations. She shares that whenever a bad thought arises, she simply tells it “Boom, go away,” a technique she calls BOOM: Bad Opinions Of Myself. This daily practice of shifting her mindset allowed Francine to break the cycle of self-criticism and emotional eating.

Helping Kids Break the Cycle Early

Francine’s transformation led her to create the Confidence Club for Kids, a space where children can learn healthy habits, build confidence, and develop a positive mindset from an early age. The club encourages kids to step away from social media and entertainment and engage in educational activities, including science experiments and guided meditations.

One of Francine’s goals is to help parents raise children who are resilient and self-confident. By teaching kids the power of meditation and positive thinking early on, Francine hopes to prevent the cycle of negative self-talk and emotional struggles that many adults face.

Meditation as a Tool for Children

Francine also authored a children’s book series that helps kids learn the value of meditation. In her book, Princess Francie—a character based on Francine’s inner child—learns how to be comfortable in her own skin through the power of meditation. Guided by a magical creature named Sparkle Feathers, Princess Francie overcomes her fears and insecurities.

Francine encourages parents to use her book as a way to introduce their kids to meditation. Instead of sending children to bed with anxious thoughts, parents can now guide them to their “meditation zone,” where they learn to calm their minds and rest peacefully.

Meditation: A Lifelong Practice for Personal Change

Francine attributes much of her transformation to the power of meditation. For her, it wasn’t just about sitting in silence—it became a tool for personal growth and healing. During meditation, she found inspiration for her children’s book and discovered the importance of nurturing her own inner child.

Her message is clear: meditation isn’t just for adults struggling with stress—it’s a practice that can benefit children as well. Through meditation, both kids and adults can learn to calm their minds, stop negative thoughts from taking hold, and focus on what truly matters in life.

Start Where You Are Today

Francine’s message is one of hope and empowerment. She believes that no matter where you are in life, today is your starting point. The past is behind you, and the only thing that matters is what you do in the present moment.

Her personal change journey began with meditation, and now she’s teaching others—especially children—to embrace the practice as a way to break negative cycles and create positive, fulfilling lives. Francine’s work through the Confidence Club for Kids and her book series is paving the way for a future where children grow up with the tools they need to be strong, confident, and emotionally resilient.

If you’re ready to start your own journey of personal change, Francine invites you to visit her website PersonalChangeWarriors.com and download her free six-step process for personal transformation.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Meditation can be a powerful tool for personal change and healing.
  2. Childhood programming can shape adult behavior, but with the right tools, these negative cycles can be broken.
  3. Teaching children confidence and emotional resilience early on can prevent them from becoming broken adults.
  4. Personal transformation begins with focusing on the present and embracing where you are today.

Francine Juhlin’s mission to help children build confidence and her own journey through meditation offer inspiring lessons for anyone looking to make positive changes in their life. 3

::

Francine Juhlin: Thank you for having me.

4

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: So how did you get started in all of this? You have a 30 year career as an electrician in the Navy, and

5

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: now you're you're helping us fix the next generation.

6

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: There's got to be a story in there somewhere.

7

::

Francine Juhlin: Oh, yes, there is.

8

::

Francine Juhlin: I was an aircraft electrician, 1st in the Navy.

9

::

Francine Juhlin: and then I worked for Government contractors, and I joined the Army National Guard, where I ended up in Iraq.

10

::

Francine Juhlin: and I was also a civil servant as an aircraft electrician.

11

::

Francine Juhlin: When it came time to retire.

12

::

Francine Juhlin: my whole identity was as an aircraft electrician. I had no idea who I was and what I wanted to be.

13

::

Francine Juhlin: I got a few degrees in college, and I still really didn't know what to do with them.

14

::

Francine Juhlin: And

15

::

Francine Juhlin: because of that.

16

::

Francine Juhlin: and because of things I learned as a child

17

::

Francine Juhlin: I was

18

::

Francine Juhlin: all confused to the point that the stress was making me sick

19

::

Francine Juhlin: and my liver was shutting down.

20

::

Francine Juhlin: I was more than a hundred pounds overweight.

21

::

Francine Juhlin: and I needed to make changes in my life, and I just had no clue

22

::

Francine Juhlin: what to do.

23

::

Francine Juhlin: I know that's a long journey before I started helping kids.

24

::

Francine Juhlin: But

25

::

Francine Juhlin: at the very beginning of that process. I had to figure out how to change myself.

26

::

Francine Juhlin: and I hired a business coach, and I hired

27

::

Francine Juhlin: and holistic health coach.

28

::

Francine Juhlin: What do you think was the advice they both gave me.

29

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Fix yourself first.st

30

::

Francine Juhlin: Yes, but how?

31

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I'm going to say meditation.

32

::

Francine Juhlin: Yes.

33

::

Francine Juhlin: they both told me to meditate.

34

::

Francine Juhlin: and I was thinking, how could I do that with all this stuff running through my head?

35

::

Francine Juhlin: Well, I didn't understand at that point. That's what meditation is is stopping all that stuff running through your head.

36

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: That's not.

37

::

Francine Juhlin: Oh, go ahead!

38

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I'm gonna interrupt you. It's it's not so much stopping it as

39

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: not having thoughts about it.

40

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah, cause we have.

41

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: We always have things going on in our heads.

42

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: But then.

43

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: when we start ruminating on it

44

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and having opinions about our thoughts, that's when the troubles really

45

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: start adding up and meditation. It allows us to examine the thoughts and let them go

46

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and not get attached to them. It's the attachment tanglement that's like.

47

::

Francine Juhlin: And do you know where all that attachment comes from?

48

::

Francine Juhlin: That's from the programming we get when we're children.

49

::

Francine Juhlin: So I told you that I was unhealthy.

50

::

Francine Juhlin: that is, from my aunts when I was a child.

51

::

Francine Juhlin: You'd be such a pretty girl if you just lose some weight

52

::

Francine Juhlin: that stuck with me

53

::

Francine Juhlin: for 50 years.

54

::

Francine Juhlin: and

55

::

Francine Juhlin: I will tell you

56

::

Francine Juhlin: I had an eating disorder.

57

::

Francine Juhlin: I wasn't blaming.

58

::

Francine Juhlin: I would overeat till I got fat.

59

::

Francine Juhlin: and then I would

60

::

Francine Juhlin: unhealthy diet.

61

::

Francine Juhlin: and then I would overeat till I got fat again.

62

::

Francine Juhlin: and then I would.

63

::

Francine Juhlin: Unhealthy diet.

64

::

Francine Juhlin: Throughout my life. I thought if I could just lose 20 pounds, I'd be happy.

65

::

Francine Juhlin: Well, guess what? I lost a hundred pounds, and I still wasn't happy

66

::

Francine Juhlin: because I kept all those other thoughts, all the thoughts that made me fat. In the 1st place, all the thoughts that made me

67

::

Francine Juhlin: want to eat to cover up my feelings.

68

::

Francine Juhlin: That was what was keeping me in this cycle.

69

::

Francine Juhlin: So

70

::

Francine Juhlin: my big

71

::

Francine Juhlin: mantra right now is break

72

::

Francine Juhlin: the cycle.

73

::

Francine Juhlin: And I've talked to so many people, and you could see in some of my episodes of parents talk some of the people I've talked to

74

::

Francine Juhlin: one. Her mother used to make fun of her about her acne

75

::

Francine Juhlin: to the point where she was

76

::

Francine Juhlin: 60 years old when she finally

77

::

Francine Juhlin: started loving herself.

78

::

Francine Juhlin: Let's break that cycle, and

79

::

Francine Juhlin: the thoughts will be there.

80

::

Francine Juhlin: But the key is.

81

::

Francine Juhlin: Instead of listening to those thoughts talk back.

82

::

Francine Juhlin: Tell them no, I like to call it boom.

83

::

Francine Juhlin: Bad opinions of myself.

84

::

Francine Juhlin: Just say Boom, go away.

85

::

Francine Juhlin: because

86

::

Francine Juhlin: the thought that if I lose 20 pounds, I'd be happy.

87

::

Francine Juhlin: wasn't helping me lose weight.

88

::

Francine Juhlin: and it definitely wasn't helping me get healthy.

89

::

Francine Juhlin: It was.

90

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Happy.

91

::

Francine Juhlin: Or right, or be happy.

92

::

Francine Juhlin: So when this

93

::

Francine Juhlin: holistic health coach and this

94

::

Francine Juhlin: business coach both told me to meditate, I said, here's 2

95

::

Francine Juhlin: totally different entities.

96

::

Francine Juhlin: telling me the same thing.

97

::

Francine Juhlin: And I started investigating. I started reading. I started listening to Youtube.

98

::

Francine Juhlin: And that's when I realized that meditation isn't just, oh, there are so many different ways. One of my favorite ways is to walk out in the sunshine barefoot, and just stare at the sun

99

::

Francine Juhlin: with my feet planted

100

::

Francine Juhlin: on the grass.

101

::

Francine Juhlin: and I could

102

::

Francine Juhlin: I could feel the energy flow through me and my feet tingle.

103

::

Francine Juhlin: And if I do get a thought.

104

::

Francine Juhlin: it's almost always a good thought now.

105

::

Francine Juhlin: and when it's a bad thought, Boom, go away.

106

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I haven't been meditating that long.

107

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: either, but when I when I learned about meditation, I learned about it from a friend of mine who was having some mental health problems, and she was seeing

108

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: a psychiatrist who told her to meditate.

109

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and she shared with me some. There's different platforms. You can go on that can teach you how to meditate. And in the beginning, if you can just hold still for 3 min

110

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: with all of that going on and just focus on breathing. 3 min feels like forever in the beginning. But if you could just do it

111

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: consistently, you'll find that, you know, and

112

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: hour can go by, and you're like what, wait.

113

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I was busy.

114

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: We're supposed to be busy.

115

::

Francine Juhlin: The greatest things happen when I meditate, like

116

::

Francine Juhlin: the this weird character behind me. Here sparkle feathers. I met him in a meditation.

117

::

Francine Juhlin: This children's book about meditation was downloaded to me

118

::

Francine Juhlin: while I was meditating.

119

::

Francine Juhlin: So now think about it. If anybody here is listening to this, and you don't think meditations for you.

120

::

Francine Juhlin: You don't think you could meditate.

121

::

Francine Juhlin: What if

122

::

Francine Juhlin: you grew up

123

::

Francine Juhlin: thinking that was the norm?

124

::

Francine Juhlin: What if, instead of all the negative

125

::

Francine Juhlin: programming you received

126

::

Francine Juhlin: your programming was.

127

::

Francine Juhlin: if you're not happy today, just sit down

128

::

Francine Juhlin: and meditate.

129

::

Francine Juhlin: If you feel uncomfortable for any reason, sit down and meditate, and that's where the book starts. Princess Francie, who is my inner child.

130

::

Francine Juhlin: is sitting there worried that she has a scar on her face, and it's time to go back to school, and she's afraid all the kids are going to make fun of her.

131

::

Francine Juhlin: and she is just sitting there so worried and upset.

132

::

Francine Juhlin: And then this butterfly.

133

::

Francine Juhlin: that butterfly rainbow floats by and says, Come on, I'm gonna I'm gonna introduce you to your new friend.

134

::

Francine Juhlin: And then some magic happens.

135

::

Francine Juhlin: and Princess Francie grows a tail, and she meets sparkle feathers, and that's when sparkle feathers teaches Francie how to be comfortable in her own skin.

136

::

Francine Juhlin: and that's all done through meditation.

137

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I love it, I love it. And this is a children's book that you have

138

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: published already. Correct.

139

::

Francine Juhlin: Correct. It's out on Amazon right now.

140

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And people can find it there. And I know you have a a kids club that

141

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: people can join. How does that work.

142

::

Francine Juhlin: The Confidence club for kids takes

143

::

Francine Juhlin: the book series one step further, it's an interactive

144

::

Francine Juhlin: container in my website, where kids could get off the social media off the videos of

145

::

Francine Juhlin: pure entertainment. And they could learn.

146

::

Francine Juhlin: they could interact. And they could have fun

147

::

Francine Juhlin: in an environment that's conducive to happy, healthy thoughts.

148

::

Francine Juhlin: There's

149

::

Francine Juhlin: 20 science videos uploaded. And I'm going to be doing science experiments and asking the kids to send pictures of what they've done.

150

::

Francine Juhlin: And there's a newsletter that will be coming out where I'll

151

::

Francine Juhlin: talk about some of the things the kids are doing within the club

152

::

Francine Juhlin: there's going to be.

153

::

Francine Juhlin: I can't wait for this one. It's so exciting. My friend has been documenting the caterpillars growing into the cocoons growing into the butterflies.

154

::

Francine Juhlin: and her son is going to do the video about this.

155

::

Francine Juhlin: So it's gonna be kids

156

::

Francine Juhlin: showing other kids how

157

::

Francine Juhlin: cool it is to

158

::

Francine Juhlin: do science, how cool it is to meditate. There's a whole chapter on Meditations. I started out with one very short 5 min how to meditate, and a very, very simple station for the kids.

159

::

Francine Juhlin: and we're going to progress from there. And I'm going to do guided meditations for the kids.

160

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I've found personally that.

161

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: having learned how to meditate.

162

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: it helps me sleep better.

163

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Do you want to address how that affects kids? Once they learn to meditate.

164

::

Francine Juhlin: Well, parents.

165

::

Francine Juhlin: how would you like to send your kids to the Magic Library.

166

::

Francine Juhlin: where they rest peacefully.

167

::

Francine Juhlin: and they rest peacefully, and they clean up all those files in their head.

168

::

Francine Juhlin: The magic forest creatures

169

::

Francine Juhlin: help sparkle feathers, clean up Francie's messy bedroom, which is her head before meditation.

170

::

Francine Juhlin: Once your kids read this book

171

::

Francine Juhlin: you could start saying.

172

::

Francine Juhlin: Wouldn't you like to go to the magic forest

173

::

Francine Juhlin: and clean up your

174

::

Francine Juhlin: meditation zone?

175

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I love that. And it it really is.

176

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And now I've sort of

177

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: kids need naps. Often, I think adults need naps a lot of times, too. But meditation is is just a good way to take a break and and and slow down. We get so busy and and so involved in things, and we're always got, you know. Do do do. And we really need to teach our children how to just be a little bit.

178

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: instead of the constant

179

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: chasing after stuff, which is a lot of what we're teaching them to do

180

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: these days.

181

::

Francine Juhlin: And the more unhappy I became with myself

182

::

Francine Juhlin: the more I tried to achieve.

183

::

Francine Juhlin: I was in every club in school, and I worked so hard at absolutely everything, thinking I needed to be the best, and I don't know if I was trying to win over my parents love, which I

184

::

Francine Juhlin: no, now I had.

185

::

Francine Juhlin: but I thought who could love me like this?

186

::

Francine Juhlin: But I think really what I was trying to do was win over my own self love

187

::

Francine Juhlin: if I could, one more that 20 pounds, or that one more achievement or A. B isn't good enough. I need an A

188

::

Francine Juhlin: that even followed me to college, where I wasn't happy with

189

::

Francine Juhlin: getting A's. I needed perfect scores to the point where it was driving me crazy, this always trying to overachieve.

190

::

Francine Juhlin: And I hear parents now telling their kids that

191

::

Francine Juhlin: bees aren't good enough. You need to bring your grades up, or

192

::

Francine Juhlin: I was in band.

193

::

Francine Juhlin: You only got a second place in contest, you need to practice more.

194

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Reminds me of a story my husband tells. My husband is the most

195

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: easygoing guy I've ever met.

196

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: but he he loves baseball, and he was playing baseball when he was a kid.

197

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and his dad lived with us for like 18 years. I know his father very well. But he hit a home run

198

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: in this game.

199

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: or got several hits in this game. But he he!

200

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: He struck out once.

201

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: though he

202

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: had other at bats, and he did really well at bat, and his dad comes along and goes something to the tune of

203

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Well.

204

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: why didn't you get all hits rather than just appreciating the fact that he got some hits.

205

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and he did the best he could.

206

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: because, like, you know.

207

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: it's so easy to criticize the small flaw and miss all of the amazing, wonderful.

208

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: positive things

209

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: as children and as a child. The thing that sticks with you is just that one little

210

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: criticism that's so cavalierly

211

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: shot out there by adults in their periphery.

212

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: who may have just been having a bad day.

213

::

Francine Juhlin: Or just wanting the best for you, not realizing that it's not what they say, but how they're saying it.

214

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: It it just the impact that that can have on you

215

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: over

216

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: over years because they're they're just little kids.

217

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: We still are operating on a system that

218

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: was installed with your

219

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: really little. And we didn't have the information we have today.

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: You know, I

221

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: parents will always be parents. They're usually just kids themselves.

222

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I can say that from this perspective.

223

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah, you guys are so young.

224

::

Francine Juhlin: Oh, that! And that's why, when I was going through my own journey.

225

::

Francine Juhlin: I was angry

226

::

Francine Juhlin: at

227

::

Francine Juhlin: my parent, even though I knew

228

::

Francine Juhlin: my mom was doing it for all the right reasons that taking me to weight watchers when I was 8 years old, was telling me that there was something wrong with me

229

::

Francine Juhlin: going to kids birthday parties and getting weight watchers, ice cream which wasn't good back in the seventies.

230

::

Francine Juhlin: or carrots and celery, while all the other kids are eating all this good stuff.

231

::

Francine Juhlin: it going to Girl Scouts, and everyone has cupcakes, and I have carrots and celery.

232

::

Francine Juhlin: And it

233

::

Francine Juhlin: it was for the right reason.

234

::

Francine Juhlin: But then I thought about it.

235

::

Francine Juhlin: She was 25 years 2627 years old.

236

::

Francine Juhlin: She was doing the best she could with the information she had.

237

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah. And there just really wasn't that much information in those days, either.

238

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And they they came from a different paradigm. It was a paradigm of it was imperative for women to get married.

239

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Your idea their idea in life was that you know, if you don't marry well, you're gonna have a crappy life.

240

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And it wasn't really. It was like 65, I think, when the Civil Rights Act was enacted, where women actually got

241

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: the ability to be able to make their own decisions. And then there was the whole slew of

242

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: divorce that happened which had cataclysmic effects

243

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: on everybody

244

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: because of because of that. But really women today, young women today that are raising kids.

245

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: they don't. I don't think they realize

246

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: the shift that happened for their parents and their parents parents

247

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: to get to the place where they're at now, where you know.

248

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: if you want to get married, get married. That's fine. You don't have to.

249

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I don't even care if you have kids, and you don't get married.

250

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Did you know?

251

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Do something with your life, be who you are, designed to be and contribute what you were designed to contribute.

252

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Sorry I get off on this tangent with kids, and and how we got to this place where they're like

253

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: we put so much pressure on them for things that just.

254

::

Francine Juhlin: Well

255

::

Francine Juhlin: back in the late seventies, when I was finishing high school.

256

::

Francine Juhlin: go to college, go to college, go to college women, go to college. Now go to college.

257

::

Francine Juhlin: Well, my parents were divorced.

258

::

Francine Juhlin: and my dad said, What does a girl need to go to college for?

259

::

Francine Juhlin: Well, I tried it on my own trying to work full time and go to college, and it was difficult. And that's how I ended up in the navy, which was the best thing that I could have ever done, because I found a career I loved. I got the education. I got a trade. I got to see the world. I got to open my eyes to new ideas and new ways of life.

260

::

Francine Juhlin: and

261

::

Francine Juhlin: I think is the the military was the greatest experience in the whole world for me. I'm not telling everybody to just go and enlist.

262

::

Francine Juhlin: because it's not for everybody, but for me. It was the greatest thing in the whole world.

263

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I have one daughter. She's my oldest. She enlisted in the army, and it was the best thing she could ever have done with her life. It has impacted her life in ways that she couldn't even begin to imagine.

264

::

Francine Juhlin: Yeah.

265

::

Francine Juhlin: And what I love about my time in the military is

266

::

Francine Juhlin: I laid the groundwork for today's women.

267

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Hmm.

268

::

Francine Juhlin: For being in a field, a nontraditional female role. Because when when I join you want to be a secretary, no.

269

::

Francine Juhlin: you want to go on the supply court? No? Well, we you could. You could do this or that. No.

270

::

Francine Juhlin: I wanted something different.

271

::

Francine Juhlin: And when I set out to

272

::

Francine Juhlin: make my way, the guys didn't want me there, because

273

::

Francine Juhlin: you're taking all our good duty

274

::

Francine Juhlin: is what it was what they were thinking.

275

::

Francine Juhlin: But they didn't realize I had talents, and I had

276

::

Francine Juhlin: things that they couldn't bring to the table. For instance.

277

::

Francine Juhlin: in in Iraq I turned 40 in Iraq.

278

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Nope.

279

::

Francine Juhlin: And

280

::

Francine Juhlin: I was what was known as the Morale Booster.

281

::

Francine Juhlin: because

282

::

Francine Juhlin: I would go to the Chow Hall and collect all the pieces and components and the cheese log that my dad sent me and

283

::

Francine Juhlin: the Petridge farm sausage, and I made a Christmas party for everybody.

284

::

Francine Juhlin: So

285

::

Francine Juhlin: yes, I was a girl.

286

::

Francine Juhlin: and I was also in charge, and I was also the one training the boys. But then I also had that

287

::

Francine Juhlin: nurturing

288

::

Francine Juhlin: aspect that was missing before women joined the military.

289

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah, I can see that

290

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I was raised in the military. My dad was a supply officer.

291

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: that

292

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: So I'm I'm very familiar with that. And I'm familiar with

293

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: the way the military used to be

294

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: versus the way because women joined and because women really do contribute a lot in a lot of different areas.

295

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: They've changed

296

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: the way women are treated overall in the military, which is a huge thing.

297

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and it it all comes back to starting with your kids and getting your kids

298

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: to accept certain things as

299

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: normal

300

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: and and

301

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: telling kids things that aren't true about themselves

302

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: without giving them the tools to

303

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: to be able to manage that information.

304

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: It it keeps them from getting those thoughts stored

305

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: in their long-term memory as as though they are truths.

306

::

Francine Juhlin: Right, because what gets

307

::

Francine Juhlin: our brains are going to immediately go to the negative, to the scary, because we are wired for survival.

308

::

Francine Juhlin: So our brains are constantly in the process of looking for danger.

309

::

Francine Juhlin: So your brain is designed

310

::

Francine Juhlin: to look for negative.

311

::

Francine Juhlin: But that's what gets you more negative.

312

::

Francine Juhlin: We have to train our brains to look for the positive.

313

::

Francine Juhlin: and then we start seeing more positive, and everything.

314

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah.

315

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And no matter as a parent how hard you try, there will always be something.

316

::

Francine Juhlin: Oh.

317

::

Francine Juhlin: not only parents, I mean even I'm not. I'm not a parent. I failed at fertility, but

318

::

Francine Juhlin: even for myself.

319

::

Francine Juhlin: there is always something trying to steal my thunder for myself.

320

::

Francine Juhlin: Not that someone, not that somebody or an outside entity is trying to steal my thunder.

321

::

Francine Juhlin: I'm trying to steal my own thunder.

322

::

Francine Juhlin: And sometimes I just have to sit back and say, I'm safe.

323

::

Francine Juhlin: I have everything I need. This is going to be okay.

324

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: You didn't fail at fertility.

325

::

Francine Juhlin: A.

326

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I'm gonna correct you on that one. You you are where you're supposed to be. You're doing what you're supposed to do. And you know

327

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I have 2 sisters. I'm the only one who had children.

328

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: but I had children for them, too.

329

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Your sister had kids for you. Just help her with those.

330

::

Francine Juhlin: I.

331

::

Francine Juhlin: It took fif more than 50 years or well.

332

::

Francine Juhlin: since I was 36 years old.

333

::

Francine Juhlin: It took me that long to recognize that

334

::

Francine Juhlin: if I had kids

335

::

Francine Juhlin: I wouldn't be talking to you today.

336

::

Francine Juhlin: If I had kids I would not have re-enlisted in the army after the Navy if I had kids, my life would be completely different than it is today.

337

::

Francine Juhlin: Because I was supposed to be here talking to you today about sparkle feathers.

338

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yes, you are.

339

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And

340

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: the decisions we make

341

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: create the life that we live. And we're all here with a purpose.

342

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And.

343

::

Francine Juhlin: Yes.

344

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: You know.

345

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: embrace that.

346

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: no matter who you are, what age you are.

347

::

Francine Juhlin: And now

348

::

Francine Juhlin: I could look at the whole world as my children.

349

::

Francine Juhlin: because I'm trying to break that cycle

350

::

Francine Juhlin: and help parents raise their children to be strong and confident.

351

::

Francine Juhlin: and if I had my own children I wouldn't have the ability to do that.

352

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: It's a true statement, I believe.

353

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: So. How do people get in touch with you, Francine? If they want to work with you, or they want to see what it is that you do with kids and.

354

::

Francine Juhlin: My website is personalchangewarriers.com.

355

::

Francine Juhlin: And you could contact me through there.

356

::

Francine Juhlin: But I would also love if you would follow me on Facebook

357

::

Francine Juhlin: with constant updates

358

::

Francine Juhlin: and funny stories and the readings from my book.

359

::

Francine Juhlin: And then also my Youtube channel, Francine Julene on Youtube, where you could find parents talk.

360

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: That's great. And that's where your podcast.

361

::

Francine Juhlin: 1st time.

362

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Is hosted. Okay, that's perfect. And you also have a

363

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: an offer for people, a 6 step process for personal change. You want to talk about that a little bit.

364

::

Francine Juhlin: Yeah. When I was going through this whole metamorphosis.

365

::

Francine Juhlin: I took

366

::

Francine Juhlin: everything that I learned as a change management specialist for industry and the corporate world.

367

::

Francine Juhlin: and I applied it to personal change and developed the 6 step process for personal change.

368

::

Francine Juhlin: and it starts with quieting your mind.

369

::

Francine Juhlin: finding the root cause of what makes you uncomfortable for me. If I could just lose 20 pounds I'd feel better. But I had to get down to the root cause

370

::

Francine Juhlin: of why I thought I needed to lose 20 pounds. I needed to get down to the root cause of why I was unhealthy in the 1st place.

371

::

Francine Juhlin: and then once you find that root cause.

372

::

Francine Juhlin: you could

373

::

Francine Juhlin: find ways to change it.

374

::

Francine Juhlin: And then there's

375

::

Francine Juhlin: other ways to support yourself as you

376

::

Francine Juhlin: change, and then try to make work at maintaining that change.

377

::

Francine Juhlin: It all starts with meditation.

378

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: I couldn't agree more.

379

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And so this is.

380

::

Francine Juhlin: You could get your free introduction on my website.

381

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Yeah, and we'll be sure to put that those in the show notes the link in the show notes so people can get get access to that.

382

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: And this has been an amazing conversation. I really appreciate you joining me. What's the one thing that you hope the audience takes away from our conversation today?

383

::

Francine Juhlin: The one thing is, no matter where you are today.

384

::

Francine Juhlin: That's your starting point.

385

::

Francine Juhlin: Don't worry about what happened in the past. It's the past.

386

::

Francine Juhlin: All you have is today.

387

::

Francine Juhlin: and you will have tomorrow. You don't even have tomorrow. Yet

388

::

Francine Juhlin: all you have is today.

389

::

Francine Juhlin: If your life feels out of control.

390

::

Francine Juhlin: Center your thoughts on what's happening right now.

391

::

Jill Hart-The Coach's Alchemist & Host of the You World Order Showcase Podcast: Thank you so much for joining me.

392

::

Francine Juhlin: Thank you for having me on your show.
