The Law teaches us about sin and then our flesh starts to do it because that is our nature. Even Gentiles who did not know anything about the Law kept doing the works of the Law written in their hearts (Rom 2:15), which offers the righteousness which is of the Law.
But by the Faith OF Christ, God's righteousness was made available to us.
