On this episode Ted and Barb speak to Wyatt Bradbury, a Health and Safety Advisor for Hitachi Rail STS. Wyatt describes himself as a Safety Professional with experience in the Aquatics, Construction, and Utility industries. Like most people in Safety Industry, he simply “fell into it”, and he now works in the Rail Industry - which is a Safety pioneer. Because of his rich career and experience, Wyatt recommends we should not see our career as a destination, but a journey we’re on. The topic of the episode is systems in general, as well as Safety Management Systems. Safety Management Systems are made up of many small parts and pieces, and they have to function as a whole. They can’t be separate policies, but need to blend together and support one another in order to have a comprehensive safety management system.
