Lansing Area African American Genealogical Society (LAAAGS). Established in 2001, LAAAGS stands as a beacon for the preservation of African American family history in the Lansing area. Our mission goes beyond just tracing lineages; it's about understanding our roots, celebrating our heritage, and ensuring that future generations recognize the importance of their ancestry.

WHO IS BABA THE STORYTELLER?
Baba the Storyteller is a world-traveled, award-winning professional presenter and speaker with more than 30 years of experience. The city in which he resides, Long Beach California, recognized him as the municipality’s Artist of the Year. Most recently, the city honored him as their “Favorite One Man Show” of 2021. Additionally, he has been honored with commendations from both the U.S. Senate and U.S. Congress. When not touring internationally, he can be found serving his community in local schools, libraries, festivals and events.
