Welcome to Virtual Summit Success.
Jenn:I'm Jenn, founder of Virtual Summit Search, and you're in the right place
Jenn:if you want to make the most of your virtual summit experience, whether
Jenn:you're a host or virtual summit speaker.
Jenn:Let's get going with your next step to virtual summit success.
Jenn:You're listening to another snippet of a Sell With a
Summit:Speaker Edition session.
Summit:I'm talking about how to make sales when you speak at virtual summits - without
Summit:feeling gross or sleazy about it.
Summit:This is a question I get asked a lot at Virtual Summit Search and
Summit:it's one I work through with my clients a lot too, so without further
Summit:ado, let's just dive right in!
Summit:Alright raise your hand if you hate being salesy!
Summit:I...
Summit:can't actually see you, but you can let me know anyway.
Summit:Now I know that as a summit speaker, it can be really hard to ask for a sale
Summit:without feeling like used car salesman - or the cliche of a used car salesman.
Summit:So that is why I created Sell With a Summit: Speaker Edition.
Summit:And if we haven't met yet - hopefully we have by now - I'm Jenn.
Summit:I am the host of Sell With a Summit: Speaker Edition, and I also
Summit:run Virtual Summit Search where I empower summit hosts and speakers
Summit:to create more reach and impact through their one-hit-wonder events.
Summit:And that includes you, which is part of why I made this
Summit:edition of Sell With a Summit.
Summit:So I know that summit speaking can equal sales without being salesy.
Summit:It really can.
Summit:And I want to talk today about how you can do that: how you can talk about your
Summit:offers without sounding like a used car salesman, because that is just gross.
Summit:None of us wants to do that - you don't want to do that, I don't want
Summit:to do that, so let's find ways not to do that and yet still make sales.
Summit:So first, let's talk about how you can make sales through summit speaking.
Summit:So one of the first ways is through the all-access pass.
Summit:So that's typically where the host is offering a bundle - typically it
Summit:includes the replays of the sessions, maybe an workbook, transcripts, notes,
Summit:stuff like that - and they might also be offering an upgraded all-access
Summit:pass or the all-access pass in general may include speaker bonuses.
Summit:And so that's one way that you can get involved in that and hopefully make
Summit:some more sales through it too, because the all-access pass is a paid upgrade.
Summit:And when you're inviting people to a summit from your audience, like,
Summit:"Hey, I'm speaking at a summit.
Summit:I would love for you to join me," this is a great way to make it really
Summit:easy to sell the all-access pass.
Summit:Because say the all-access pass is $97 and you have a course that...
Summit:like, just a little mini-course that you're putting in there for,
Summit:say, $47, or you have a slightly larger course that would normally be
Summit:$147 that you're putting in there.
Summit:That means it's pretty much no-brainer for someone to buy that all-access
Summit:pass, because you can say, "look, if you've been thinking about getting this
Summit:course from me, then the all-access pass is only twice as much, but you're
Summit:getting so much more value than that.
Summit:Here are some other resources inside of there that complement
Summit:the $47 course that I've put in."
Summit:Or if it's the $147 course that you've put in, it's even easier because you can say,
Summit:"Hey, if you've been thinking about buying this course from me, now's your chance
Summit:to get it for not only less than you'd normally pay, but to get so much more out
Summit:of it and to help you take the next step beyond what this course will teach you."
Summit:That is a great way to make it so that you don't have to feel sales-y because
Summit:you're providing a ton of value through that all-access pass, but it also can
Summit:lead to more sales because when someone does buy the all-access pass - whether
Summit:it's through your affiliate link or not - then they will go and sign up for
Summit:your speaker bonus that you have put in there - that $47 or $147, whatever it
Summit:is course, ebook, whatever you decide to put in there; there's so many options.
Summit:They're signing up, they're getting on your email list,
Summit:they're getting into your circle.
Summit:And if you're not making them sign up in order to get access to that
Summit:normally paid resource, you need to start doing that because those are
Summit:qualified leads that are coming in.
Summit:Those are people who have put their money where their mouth is.
Summit:They have paid for something that you offer, because even if they didn't
Summit:sign up for the all access pass through your affiliate link, they paid the
Summit:summit host, and that means that they have a budget to put towards furthering
Summit:themselves, educating themselves, whatever it is that your resources offer.
Summit:And so now you know that is a really good potential customer to whatever your next
Summit:offer is, whether it's one-on-one coaching or a bigger course or a membership or a
Summit:mastermind - whatever your next product or service is, those people are primed
Summit:and ready for that, so you can go and follow up with them after the summit - and
Summit:please, do it after the summit, like Sharice is going to be talking about in
Summit:her sales funnel session at the end of this summit, you really do not want to go
Summit:and be sending emails during the summit.
Summit:It just gets confusing.
Summit:So make sure you watch that because that will also help with this.
Summit:But you can follow up with them after this and say, "Hey, so I saw that you
Summit:got this [whatever the resource that you've provided in the all-access pass].
Summit:I saw that you got this and I would love to help you take the next step.
Summit:Here are some different resources that I have, ways that you can work
Summit:with me," whatever it happens to be.
Summit:And/or you can just reach out to them and say, "Hey, I saw that you
Summit:got [whatever the resource is].
Summit:How are you feeling about it?
Summit:What is your next action step?
Summit:How can I help?"
Summit:Start a conversation, start a dialogue, and then if you have a resource that meets
Summit:a need that they have, it's a really easy to say, "oh, well, that's totally cool.
Summit:I have a resource that can help you with that."
Summit:Whether it's a course, a one-on-one, whatever it happens to be for that next
Summit:step up in your product or service line, it's really easy to tell them about it
Summit:and they're going to be grateful rather than feeling sold to, because you've had a
Summit:conversation with them and they feel like a person to you; they're not a number.
Summit:So that is the first revenue stream for summits is the all-access pass - both
Summit:the all-access pass itself and the people that buy the all-access pass and redeem
Summit:your resource offer that's inside of it.
Summit:So if you genuinely share and provide value through your summit presentation,
Summit:it's not going to be salesy because you're not saying, "come buy my products!
Summit:It's crazy, crazy, crazy!"
Summit:You're not that stereotypical used car salesman - even if you sell used cars.
Summit:And the thing is I've met great used car salesman.
Summit:I have bought from great used car salesman.
Summit:And so you can be a summit speaker without fitting the certain stereotype
Summit:that might be stuck in your head.
Summit:You can break out of that and you can be a genuine, authentic,
Summit:value-providing summit speaker...
Summit:and you can make sales without feeling gross and sleazy.
Summit:So I do want to give you a chance to take that to the next level with
Summit:me, because you can win a Summit Speaker Strategy Intensive with me.
Summit:And that is where we do create your No-Sleaze Sales Strategy and your
Summit:Stand-out Summit Speaker Framework so that you get invited to more summits,
Summit:you get invited back to summits, you get referred out to other summits to speak
Summit:at, and then you can make sales from them.
Summit:So we will go through some of these steps.
Summit:We'll go through collecting testimonials and I will show you exactly how to
Summit:work them into your presentation.
Summit:We might need to tweak it and do some adjustments and everything, but
Summit:when we finish it, you will have that No-Sleaze Sales Strategy in your summit
Summit:presentation, ready to go for your next summit speaking engagement and you'll be
Summit:ready to go and wow the summits hosts that you work with so that they want you back.
Summit:They might invite you back immediately for their next summit.
Summit:And if they don't, because they're not sure when they're hosting
Summit:it, they'll probably be referring you out to other summit hosts.
Summit:And I hope I'll get to work with you soon, whether it's through a Summit
Summit:Speaker Strategy Intensive or the Summit Speaker Directory - whatever it happens
Summit:to be, I am really excited to see you on more summits and I can't wait to hear
Summit:how you do with your No-Sleaze Sales Strategy that you're going to create.
Summit:And don't forget your challenge!
Summit:Your challenge and your action step for this presentation is going to be
Summit:to go out and look at what the other speakers in the summit are doing,
Summit:how they're integrating talking about their offers without sounding like
Summit:a used car salesman and report back.
Summit:I want to hear about it.
Summit:You can shoot me a DM on Instagram @virtualsummitsearch or shoot me an
Summit:email at hello@virtualsummitsearch.com - I would love to hear your biggest
Summit:takeaway from that and how you're going to be integrating your sales
Summit:strategy into your summit presentations.
Summit:Can't wait to see you on more summits and see you make more sales through them!
Summit:I hope you got some actionable takeaways from this episode.
