Catch us when we fall, written by Juliette Fay, is a story of alcoholism, recovery, hope and redemption. Juliette is a best-selling author of 6 books and we talked about how she got started with writing. She was a young mother of 4 children and was looking for something that was just hers. She would find moments when the children were distracted or sleeping to write down pieces of the stories that were in her head. Her first book was published in 2009.
A lot of our conversation was about the disease of alcoholism and the challenge of recovery on both the individual and the family. Juliette talks a lot about the importance of connection and community, so you don't feel alone. And we talked about finding a reason to get sober and stay sober. Are you worth your own recovery?
