Dr. Felicia Mebane sits down with Dr. Carlene Turner, Professor and Chair of the Sociology Department at Norfolk State University. They discuss her educational background, growing up in Jamaica and then moving to New York for her graduate degree at the City University of New York. She explains sociology as being the science of society and how it is connected to STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). They discuss her research on black women in self care and her work in socio-cybersecurity with her husband and colleague Professor in the Computer Science Department at Norfolk State University, Dr. Claude Turner.
