Speaker:

Hey, everybody.

2

:

Welcome back to another episode of

the daily Bible podcast, families

3

:

out there with your kiddos.

4

:

Congratulations on making it through a

week of school or there abouts, I guess,

5

:

a short week for most of us, but good job.

6

:

You made it through week

one under your belt.

7

:

I don't know how many are left, but

there's, there's a handful out there.

8

:

Like a, over 150 days, something

like that left a school who knows,

9

:

but Hey, we're through week one.

10

:

So pat yourselves on the back.

11

:

Uh, maybe celebrate tonight, go out

and get some ice cream with your kiddo.

12

:

Something like that.

13

:

Just to mark the week.

14

:

It's a, it's a fun accomplishment.

15

:

It's a good, uh, milestone just

to celebrate God's faithfulness

16

:

and bringing us through week.

17

:

Number one.

18

:

Uh, just awesome to a.

19

:

Just think about.

20

:

Everything in store this year,

all the different experiences

21

:

that our kids are going to have,

what they're going to learn.

22

:

They're going to get bigger.

23

:

They're going to grow up these

time markers that are passing bias.

24

:

And I know a lot of times it can

think, we can feel like, oh man,

25

:

I just want to get through it, but

try to enjoy it in the process.

26

:

Try to try to make those

memories together as a family.

27

:

You know, after the kids are in

bed one night, do something crazy.

28

:

Like get them up, wake them up,

get them out of bed, drive to

29

:

Sonic and get some, some Sonic.

30

:

Or if you're crunchy, then go,

go to whole foods and buy some

31

:

granola or something like that.

32

:

I don't know.

33

:

Just do something fun with your kids.

34

:

Just go in and celebrate and,

uh, and surprise them, make these

35

:

memories that they're gonna look

back on and be like, man, I, I loved.

36

:

My time.

37

:

Uh, while I was growing up with my

family, those are good things for us

38

:

to have a Friday also meant we had our

first men's breakfast this morning.

39

:

And if you're not yet there and you're

listening to this before six 30.

40

:

Hey, good on you because.

41

:

Uh, we're gathering this morning,

men at six 30, and most of you are

42

:

probably listening to this after six 30.

43

:

And so, uh, we had our first Friday

morning men's breakfast at, uh, I hop

44

:

there in Frisco off Dallas Parkway.

45

:

We are going to be going through

the book disciplines of a godly man.

46

:

And so this morning is, is just

intended to be a time to, to get

47

:

together and see some of the other

guys that are interested in doing this.

48

:

And again, the goal of this time

is not to be another sermon.

49

:

The goal of this time is to be, uh,

more of, of life on life discipleship

50

:

using this book and using the study

guide that comes along with it to just.

51

:

Uh, talk through some of these

important subjects subjects like purity,

52

:

marriage, fatherhood, friendships.

53

:

Uh, the discipline of the

mind, how do we use our mind?

54

:

Our intellect, devotion, prayer, worship,

integrity, tongue work, perseverance.

55

:

All of those things, church leadership,

giving witness ministry, uh, these

56

:

are all, uh, the disciplines.

57

:

And, uh, and, and more than that,

that he covers in this book.

58

:

The author is a guy named R

Kent Hughes, R being the initial

59

:

Mata, not N a R E, but yeah.

60

:

R K Hughes and, uh, such a good book.

61

:

I've, I've gone through it before

looking forward to this time as men.

62

:

And if you're listening to

this and you're going to, well,

63

:

I wasn't there this morning.

64

:

So does that mean I can't be there?

65

:

No, not at all.

66

:

In fact.

67

:

Even if you're somebody that's

like, I want to be a part of that.

68

:

I just don't know if I can be a part of

it every single week, be a part of the

69

:

weeks that you can and we're going to

be there and we're going to be gathered.

70

:

We're going to be having a good time

together as we go through this study.

71

:

So just excited about that, but let's jump

into our daily Bible reading for the day.

72

:

We are Jeremiah 32 33 and 34.

73

:

Uh, Jeremiah chapter 32 opens

up, um, and we are opening up.

74

:

It says the word of the Lord that came to

Jeremiah from the Lord in the 10th year

75

:

of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was.

76

:

The 18th year of Nebuchadnezzar.

77

:

So is that a Chi was the final

king and he reigned for 11 years.

78

:

So we are right around 5 87, 5 86.

79

:

We're right on the precipice of the

fall of Jerusalem is where we're at.

80

:

Uh, the city has been surrounded

by the Babylonians they're under

81

:

siege that is going to end up

lasting in total for 30 months.

82

:

By the time that's all said and done.

83

:

And we're going to read in a little

bit from second Kings, 24 and 25,

84

:

and also second Chronicles, 36,

where we're going to find out that.

85

:

Uh, this actually spanned.

86

:

Uh, parts of two years from the

ninth year, all the way to the

87

:

11th year of Zedekiah is rain.

88

:

We're smack dab in the middle

we're in the 10th year.

89

:

So probably around 5 87 BC.

90

:

And that's where this,

this chapter opens up.

91

:

And so in verses two through five, Uh, at

this time, Jeremiah is still under arrest

92

:

and being held in the palace prison here.

93

:

And he was put there, remembered

by Zedekiah for prophesying that

94

:

the city would fall and Zed would

be taken captive to Babylon.

95

:

So he's been going back

and forth through this.

96

:

Uh, there's, there's some good

things or some bad things.

97

:

There's some, some

highs, there's some lows.

98

:

And he's in prison right now.

99

:

And the word comes to him here and

instructs him verses six through

100

:

15 to buy a field from his cousin.

101

:

Uh, toward the end of the siege

when the fall of Jerusalem and its

102

:

surrounding cities was inevitable now.

103

:

Put yourself in the shoes

of the prophet for a second.

104

:

You're sitting there and the word

of the Lord comes to you and okay.

105

:

That you're used to cause,

cause that's happened.

106

:

Uh, up until this point.

107

:

So that's not, that's not super

shocking, but you're, you're in prison.

108

:

You're in the court of the palace guard.

109

:

Uh, and, and you're sitting there in

the, the word of the Lord comes to

110

:

you and doesn't say, Hey, Jeremiah,

Groton prophesied more about the

111

:

fall of Jerusalem or confront

Hezekiah about a sin, or is that

112

:

a guy about a sensor go confront

the people about their sinfulness?

113

:

That's not what it says.

114

:

It says, Hey, Jeremiah.

115

:

I think I was looking on Zillow and I'm

pretty sure that your cousin listed their

116

:

field on Zillow and they're selling it.

117

:

Now talk about a bad sellers market.

118

:

If, if you've got a foreign nation

that's laying siege to your city.

119

:

Uh, there's probably not a people

interested in buying your land.

120

:

Now I'm not suggesting that this

was actually a Zillow situation with

121

:

him having his field up for sale.

122

:

I'm just stressing the point that

people were not doing real estate

123

:

transactions at this point in

time in Israel's circumstances.

124

:

Uh, nobody who is looking to buy new

new property because they knew, and

125

:

they could see the writing on the

wall that, Hey, things were bad and

126

:

they were not getting any better.

127

:

And the Babylonians were coming and some

people had already been taken captive.

128

:

In fact two captivities to exiles

have taken place already 605 and 5 97.

129

:

And it looks like things are

about to just totally collapse.

130

:

And so for the Lord to tell Jeremiah,

Hey, I want you to go and buy a field.

131

:

Th that that's not exactly, uh, what

Jeremiah was probably expecting to

132

:

hear from the Lord at this point.

133

:

Verses 16 through 24, then.

134

:

Of chapter 32, Jeremiah praise.

135

:

He, he goes back to the Lord

basically and says, ah, excuse me.

136

:

Can what.

137

:

Uh, so 16 through 24, he prays and

begins by praising God's power.

138

:

It, which is good.

139

:

And his justice and recounting the

ways he'd cared for Israel and warned.

140

:

Then that all these

things would come to pass.

141

:

And now the siege was laid in.

142

:

The city, looked ready to fall.

143

:

He's he St got, look you.

144

:

You've you've laid all this out

and you you've, you've prophesied

145

:

all of these things and I get it

and you've wanted me to deliver

146

:

this message and it's been hard.

147

:

And I've been imprisoned

and I've been beaten for it.

148

:

And I, yeah, I understand all of that.

149

:

Yet.

150

:

I don't, I don't get this one.

151

:

I don't get this one because

in verse 25, he says, why.

152

:

Why, why do you want me

to buy this field yet?

153

:

You?

154

:

Oh Lord verse 25 has said to me by

the field for money and get witnesses.

155

:

Though the city is given into

the hands of the Cal DNS, what

156

:

are you trying to communicate?

157

:

What are you trying to say?

158

:

God?

159

:

So here we get Jeremiah's perspective

in the midst of this prophetic, uh, back

160

:

and forth between him and the Lord here.

161

:

Versus 20, 60, 35, then God responds.

162

:

And he responds confirming that.

163

:

Yes, indeed.

164

:

All of those things that Jeremiah said,

all of those things are going to happen.

165

:

He hadn't changed his mind.

166

:

He was going to punish Israel

for all of her rebellion in all

167

:

of her sinful deeds against him.

168

:

Versus 30, 60, 41.

169

:

But.

170

:

He then declared that he would bring

them back, bring the people back in

171

:

love and plant them in the land with

an everlasting covenant of grace.

172

:

And so you get God's promise

here to Jeremiah saying Jeremiah.

173

:

Yes.

174

:

The in the short term, in the immediate

future, Israel is going to fall.

175

:

Judah is going to fall.

176

:

Jerusalem is gonna fall and, and they're

going to be taken captive into Babylon.

177

:

But that's not the end of my people.

178

:

I will bring them back and I will plant

them with an everlasting covenant of

179

:

grace out of, out of a love for them.

180

:

That he has so.

181

:

God tells the prophet to do this.

182

:

Then in end, he says in verses 42 through

44, during that time, when he brings

183

:

them back, Then, you know what fields are

going to be bought and sold once again.

184

:

So.

185

:

He had Jeremiah purchased this field as

a visual prophecy of what was going to

186

:

happen in Israel, again, in the future.

187

:

He has Jeremiah by this field that

would have been a place where things

188

:

are planted as a reminder that you know

what God was going to bring the people

189

:

back and plant them there in the city.

190

:

Again, he was going to restore the

fortunes of Judah as we've talked about.

191

:

Previously on the podcast.

192

:

So this is a, an object lesson

for Jeremiah, and we've seen this

193

:

before with the loincloth earlier

in the book and in other things,

194

:

but this is what's going on here.

195

:

He tells Jeremiah, and God

does this with his profits.

196

:

He's going to do this with these.

197

:

ZQ as well, but he does this where he

uses these object lessons to communicate.

198

:

And so that's what he's doing

here with Jeremiah chapter 32.

199

:

And this field that he

wants your mind to buy.

200

:

In the midst of a siege,

not in the midst of it.

201

:

The tail end of the siege, where it seems

pretty much like a foregone conclusion

202

:

that Hey, Babylon is going to win.

203

:

All right.

204

:

Chapter 33, then.

205

:

Chapter 33 opens in verse one.

206

:

The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah

second time while he was still

207

:

shut up in the court of the guard.

208

:

So he's still under arrest

in Zedekiah's palace.

209

:

So things have not gotten better.

210

:

We're not getting, we're not moving on up.

211

:

We're we're S we're still there.

212

:

We're still were in prison and he's still

suffering under the, the, the persecution

213

:

for his message of, of faithfulness

to what God had told him to prophesy.

214

:

Uh, verses seven through eight of

this chapter, chapter 33 here, we

215

:

see byproducts that the new covenant,

which is the forgiveness of sin.

216

:

Look at verses seven and eight.

217

:

I will restore the fortunes of Judah.

218

:

What we just talked about.

219

:

And the fortunes of Israel and

rebuild them as they were at

220

:

first, I will cleanse them from

the guilt of their sin against me.

221

:

And I will forgive all the guilt of

their sin and rebellion against me.

222

:

That goes back to chapter 31 that

goes back to the new covenant.

223

:

This is byproducts in the new covenant

language, the forgiveness of sin.

224

:

This is going to be in the future.

225

:

This is going to be during

the millennial kingdom.

226

:

This is going to be, and we're

going to be reading about this and

227

:

Zachariah his prophecy as well.

228

:

When Israel looks on him, whom they

have pierced and they mourn, and they

229

:

are repentant and they experienced

the forgiveness by putting their trust

230

:

in Jesus as the atoning sacrifice.

231

:

Now, You're saying you

get all that from here.

232

:

I do, because the forgiveness

that he's talking about here

233

:

only comes through Christ.

234

:

All sin that has been

committed against God.

235

:

I find it's, it's a tome.

236

:

It finds that the

satisfaction of God's wrath.

237

:

In the crucifixion.

238

:

Even in the old Testament.

239

:

All of the sin of the old Testament,

saints was a tone for not by

240

:

the blood of bulls and goats.

241

:

But it is in an active anticipatory faith.

242

:

They were putting their trust

in God to forgive their sins

243

:

as they were recognizing me and

my sin requires a sacrifice.

244

:

It requires death.

245

:

And ultimately the death of that animal

represented the death of another,

246

:

that would come in the future and

that the lamb of God who takes away

247

:

the sins of the world, he would be

the one that would die on the cross.

248

:

And so.

249

:

All atonement is, is met in Jesus in.

250

:

And so when we think about.

251

:

Here.

252

:

And we think about the

forgiveness of sins.

253

:

The only way that the people here are

going to have their sins forgiven is

254

:

through the application of the blood

of Christ to them, as well as they

255

:

put their faith and trust in him.

256

:

And they repent from their sins.

257

:

They confess their sins

and they turn to Jesus.

258

:

As their savior.

259

:

So verses seven and eight, the forgiveness

that's found there is forgiveness.

260

:

That's only possible in Christ.

261

:

And when we get to Zechariah

chapter 14, specifically, you're

262

:

going to see that that's, that's

exactly what's going to happen.

263

:

They're going to look on

him whom they have pierced.

264

:

That's that's this idea of looking

to him in faith and in also in

265

:

repentance, in confession saying

we were wrong to miss the Messiah.

266

:

The first time we won't miss

him the second time, that's

267

:

all going to take place.

268

:

In the future for Israel, when the

Lord restores the fortunes of Judah.

269

:

Uh, in verse seven there verse nine,

whereas all the nations, all the nations,

270

:

we're going to hear the judgment there.

271

:

Also at that time, gonna hear

the blessings, notice that.

272

:

This city shall be to me, the name

of joy, a praise and glory before all

273

:

the nations of the earth who shall

hear of the good that I do for them.

274

:

And so just as that, the nations would

have heard of the judgment of God.

275

:

And we've read about that in the profits.

276

:

Uh, oh, no, God, what's, what's going on.

277

:

Are you really going to do this?

278

:

And what a, what a will the nations think?

279

:

But God even told us people, you

know what my judgment is going

280

:

to cause you to be a byword.

281

:

That's not a good thing, by the

way, a byword among the nations.

282

:

They're going to look at you and

they're going to scoff at you.

283

:

Well, There's a reversal of that

coming in the future where the

284

:

nations are going to look at Israel

and they're going to recognize the

285

:

blessing of God upon his people there.

286

:

Verse 11, the voice of mirth.

287

:

I talk about the, the warden birth a lot.

288

:

I feel like.

289

:

Because it's that word?

290

:

That doesn't sound like what it means.

291

:

Mirth sounds like, oh, mirth, man.

292

:

How you feeling?

293

:

Oh, I don't know.

294

:

I'm feeling pretty Murphy today.

295

:

No.

296

:

And joyfulness emit celebration.

297

:

Exuberance and the voice of mirth

verse 11 is going to come back.

298

:

It's going to come back and the love, the

celebration, the joyfulness, there will

299

:

be present again in the nation, the voice

of the bridegroom, the voice of the bride,

300

:

the voices of those who sing as they bring

thank offerings to the house of the Lord.

301

:

The joy is coming back to the, to

the place the joy is coming back.

302

:

To Israel, the Joy's coming back to

Jerusalem there, which is, is so good, uh,

303

:

because of the steadfast love of the Lord.

304

:

And that's verse 11, give thanks to

the Lord of hosts for the load is good

305

:

for his steadfast love endures forever,

some 100 verse five, some 1 36, right?

306

:

Those are repeated refrains

there that the steadfast love

307

:

of the Lord endures forever.

308

:

And it will again be

showered upon his people.

309

:

Verse 13.

310

:

A word here that may stand out to

you that you may be unfamiliar with.

311

:

And that is the word, the Scheffler.

312

:

The Scheffler here was a it's farmland.

313

:

That was often at the point

of conflict between Israel

314

:

and the surrounding nations,

particularly the, the Philistines.

315

:

Uh, this was the, some of the outlying

areas around the city where they would

316

:

pasture and where they would have

their sheep and where they grow things.

317

:

The Scheffler.

318

:

That is, is, is what's in

view there in verse 13.

319

:

And that's no longer

going to be contested.

320

:

There's going to be a place

where the flocks are, again,

321

:

going to pass under the hands.

322

:

The one who counts them says the Lord.

323

:

So there's a, the vision of the

restoration of the, the, the shepherding.

324

:

Uh, element the agriculture.

325

:

Um, of, of Israel there.

326

:

And so that's going to be coming in the

future as well, verses 15 through 17.

327

:

Then again, the branch, you remember

the branch, we talked about the branch.

328

:

Uh, Jesus of Nazareth, the

branch man from the branch town.

329

:

Uh, well, the branch is back

here in verses 15 through 17.

330

:

He's coming.

331

:

And he's going to fulfill the promises.

332

:

God has made about a Davidic king who will

always reign from the throne of David.

333

:

In other words, Kind of the rest

of chapter 33 is like, okay,

334

:

how is this going to happen?

335

:

Well, it's going to happen when

the Davidic king comes, when the

336

:

king of the Davidic covenant from

second, Samuel seven really takes

337

:

the throne and sits on the throne.

338

:

And he is the one that's

going to rule from there.

339

:

And that's verse 15, the righteous branch.

340

:

Who's going to spring up for David

and execute justice and righteousness.

341

:

So.

342

:

In those days, Judah will be saved when

the Messiah comes and this is the future.

343

:

This is the millennial kingdom.

344

:

It raining while Christ is on earth.

345

:

Now I mentioned.

346

:

I think last episode or maybe

the one right before that, about.

347

:

God said lucky if the sun stopped shining

and the moon stopped shining at night,

348

:

then I will forget my people, Israel.

349

:

Hey, look, we get another one of

those moments here, because I know I'm

350

:

talking about dispensationalism again.

351

:

And I know you might be

thinking that is that.

352

:

Uh, dispensationalism.

353

:

Is that okay?

354

:

Listen again.

355

:

Does does God still have

a plan for his people?

356

:

Israel look at verses 20 through 26.

357

:

Look at verses 20 through 26.

358

:

Look at verses 20 through

26 of Jeremiah 33.

359

:

Okay.

360

:

Jeremiah 33 20.

361

:

Thus says the Lord, if you can

break my covenant with the day

362

:

and my covenant with the night.

363

:

So that day and night will not

come at their appointed time.

364

:

Then also my covenant with David, my

servant may be broken so that he shall

365

:

not have a son to reign on his throne.

366

:

And my covenant with the

Levitical priests, my ministers.

367

:

So again, God says, look, if you

can stop the day from coming or

368

:

the night from coming fine, then

I'll break my covenant with Israel.

369

:

Implication is he's not going to do it.

370

:

It's not possible.

371

:

Right?

372

:

Look at verses 25 to 26.

373

:

This is the Lord.

374

:

If I have not established my

covenant with day and night and the

375

:

fixed order of heaven and earth.

376

:

Then I will reject the

offspring of Jacobs.

377

:

When is God going to reject

the offspring of Jacobs?

378

:

When is God going to reject Israel?

379

:

If he has not established his

covenant with day and night and the

380

:

fixed order of heaven and earth.

381

:

In other words, If the

data doesn't show up.

382

:

If the night doesn't come,

then we can say, okay.

383

:

Yeah, Israel's done.

384

:

It's out of the way.

385

:

And now he's turned his

attention to someone else.

386

:

That's not going to happen.

387

:

That hasn't happened yet.

388

:

And so Israel is still.

389

:

Israel is still on the scene.

390

:

There's still a future for Israel.

391

:

And so right now we're in the dispensation

of the church, the church age, but y'all,

392

:

God has not dealt with this people.

393

:

Don't be swept up by.

394

:

Uh, you know, this church father

says this and this church father

395

:

and, and dispensationalism, didn't

come around to the 18 hundreds.

396

:

Let's go to the Bible.

397

:

Kate let's, let's get into God's word.

398

:

Let's read the old Testament.

399

:

See, what does that mean?

400

:

What does that mean in verses

25 and 26 of Jeremiah 33 in

401

:

verses 20 and 21 of Jeremiah 33.

402

:

What does that mean?

403

:

If not, God is not done with his people.

404

:

I don't know any other way than to read

it plainly and say, he's he still is.

405

:

He's going to return

the fortunes to Judah.

406

:

Then I will reject the offspring of

Jacob and David, my servant, and will

407

:

not choose one of his offspring to

rule over the offspring of Abraham,

408

:

Isaac and Jacob for I will restore

their fortunes whose fortunes.

409

:

The fortunes of the offspring of Jacob.

410

:

And David, those are the Israelites.

411

:

Those are the, the, the nation of

Israel, the offspring of Abraham,

412

:

Isaac, and Jacob for I will restore

their fortunes and have mercy on them.

413

:

Y'all that is not a promise

given to the church.

414

:

That's a promise given to Israel and

we just need to let the text speak.

415

:

Let's put everything aside and let the

text speak in passages like this one.

416

:

All right, I'm done

with that for a minute.

417

:

I think at least.

418

:

Chapter 34, basically chapter 34, 1

through five Jeremiah prophesies of.

419

:

Of Zedekiah's captivity and death,

and this is going to be bad.

420

:

When it does happen.

421

:

We're going to read about this in second

Kings 24 and 25 and second Chronicles, 36.

422

:

But is that a guy's death is going to be

a cruel death indeed, because he refuses.

423

:

He refuses to listen to

the word of the Lord.

424

:

And so.

425

:

Uh, th that's why this is going to happen.

426

:

And, uh, this is, uh, this is

going to be a bad situation.

427

:

He's going to die in Babylon and it

says there you're going to die in peace.

428

:

But when we get there, you're going

to see what happens before that.

429

:

Don't be fooled by that.

430

:

That doesn't mean that, Hey, things

are going to be good for you.

431

:

He's saying, look, you're not

going to die in the battle.

432

:

You're not going to die in Jerusalem.

433

:

You're not going to die

here in the city in war.

434

:

You're going to be taken captive.

435

:

You're going to die in peace in Babylon,

not in conflict, but in peace, but that's

436

:

about as far as that piece is going to go.

437

:

Because when we, when we get there

now this death, and I you're gonna

438

:

have to tune back in to find out what

happens in this death, but this death.

439

:

Uh, well, before the death, I

should say, yeah, he dies fine.

440

:

Of old age or, or whatever in

Babylon, but what happens before

441

:

that is that a cow has the.

442

:

Th the end of Zedekiah's life is anything

but something that is desirable here in

443

:

the prophet is, is warning him of this.

444

:

In verses seven to 22, he prophesies

that God is going to punish Judah

445

:

for not freeing her slaves there.

446

:

She was supposed to do so.

447

:

Th the, again, this goes back to an,

an infringement upon the law there.

448

:

Uh, where he goes back and says much

like he had done with the Sabbath.

449

:

Hey, you've also neglected to free

the Sojourner to free the slave.

450

:

And so you're going to be taken

into captivity yourselves now.

451

:

Uh, because you didn't set them free.

452

:

So 34, 1 through five, a.

453

:

Is that a kind of, you're

going to die in captivity.

454

:

Um, Uh, 34 7 3 22.

455

:

Uh, Hey Israel, you guys were supposed to

free the slaves and you never did that.

456

:

And now here comes enslavement to you.

457

:

So, uh, 34, we move off of the good

news of chapter 32 and 33 and back

458

:

to the message of impending judgment.

459

:

And, uh, and that's where we find in 34.

460

:

So.

461

:

All right, let me pray.

462

:

And, uh, before I do that, hold

on, let me, let me just say this.

463

:

Listen, if, if you disagree with the

dispensationalism thing, um, It's okay.

464

:

It's okay.

465

:

This is not an issue of

Christian, not Christian.

466

:

This is an issue of

interpretation of text.

467

:

This is an issue of that we

would put on a second tier.

468

:

We think it's important because yeah,

it does influence how we interpret

469

:

the Bible and interpret end times.

470

:

Uh, prophecy and interpret the

book of revelation, but this is not

471

:

something where we're saying somebody

who disagrees with our view on this.

472

:

Somebody who's a covenant

theologian is wrong or.

473

:

Dumb or an unbeliever.

474

:

That's not it at all.

475

:

I have very newsflash, I have very

strong convictions about this.

476

:

I am.

477

:

I am a through and through

dispensationalist because I do believe

478

:

that there are promises here that

are yet to be fulfilled for Israel.

479

:

But I just want you to

know if that's not you.

480

:

I, I get that.

481

:

I get that.

482

:

You'll notice that it does come

up in my preaching, but not often.

483

:

And so if your question is, man,

can I be here at this church and be

484

:

somebody who's not dispensationalist.

485

:

Yeah, the answer is, yeah.

486

:

Now we're not going to put you up

in a classroom and have you teach on

487

:

eschatology, but we want you here.

488

:

We, we, we love you.

489

:

This is not an issue where

we're going to divide fellowship

490

:

because of something like this.

491

:

But, um, But also know

where we fall on that.

492

:

Uh, in case you were unaware, but

that's all I got to say on that.

493

:

Let me pray.

494

:

And then we'll be done.

495

:

God, thanks for this day.

496

:

And thanks for your word and thanks

for the fact that we get to pick it up

497

:

and read it and understand some of it.

498

:

And God, we are grateful for the future.

499

:

We are grateful for, as I was talking

about earlier in this episode,

500

:

the atonement of Jesus Christ,

we were grateful that our sins.

501

:

We're paid for by Jesus, every single

one of them at the cross cross past

502

:

present and future that there is none.

503

:

Uh, there's not a sin that we're

going to commit that wasn't dealt

504

:

with already by Jesus at the cross.

505

:

And that doesn't mean that we want

to all our Roman six, one sin, more

506

:

and more that Grace May abound.

507

:

It's quite the opposite.

508

:

May never be, as Paul says, no, we want to

be those that, that are so overwhelmingly

509

:

grateful for the death of Christ for us.

510

:

That we live lives of holiness

and godliness in response.

511

:

Uh, because, uh, this thing called

Christianity is a relationship.

512

:

It's not a transaction.

513

:

It's not here.

514

:

I'm going to do all these things.

515

:

And then God's going to do this for me.

516

:

It's I love Jesus.

517

:

Jesus is my savior.

518

:

Jesus is a person who the Bible tells me

is seated at the right hand of the father.

519

:

Always living to make

intercession for me right now.

520

:

And so God, we want that.

521

:

To be true of our perception

of what Christianity's about.

522

:

And the last thing we want to

do is grieve him by living a

523

:

life of debauchery and sin.

524

:

And so God keep us, uh,

sensitive towards sin.

525

:

Use your spirit to do that in our lives.

526

:

And may we keep short accounts with you?

527

:

I pray in Jesus name.

528

:

Amen.

529

:

Amen.

530

:

All right guys.

531

:

Well, Hey, tune in again,

tomorrow as we continue with.

532

:

Another another, that's an easy

word for you to say, not for me.

533

:

Another episode of the daily Bible

podcast, keeping your Bibles.

534

:

Bye.
