Pastor Bob Thibodeau here.

Welcome to the faith.

I'm sorry.

Welcome to the 15 Minute Bible Walk Podcast.

Today, Praise God.

It's January 5th with and.

And we're just getting into this.

We left off last time in Genesis chapter three, verse 19.

So we'll begin today in Genesis chapter three, verse 20.

And Adam called his wife's name Eve, which means living, because she was the mother of all living things.

Now to Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God, Yahweh, Jehovah, Yahweh.

I'm sorry, Yahweh Elohim.

Yahweh Elohim made coats of skins and clothed them.

Now, this is probably a lamb.

The Bible's not specific on it, but it would make sense because one, it's an innocent thing.

Two, throughout scripture, the Old Testament into the New Testament, lambs were offered for sacrifices for sins and Jesus is called the Lamb of God.

So it would make sense that it would be a lamb that is offered here for Adam and Eve as well.

Verse 22.

And Yahweh Elohim said, look, behold, the man has become as one of us to know good and evil.

Now, you see that colon right there?

In the King James Version, the colonial in English is translated as so that.

Or so would be something like that.

So we can read it like this.

The man has become as one of us to know good and evil.

And now.

So now lest he puts forth his hand and takes also of the tree of life and eats and lives forever.

So we have to do this is what it's saying there, that the Lord God sent him, sent man Adam and Eve out from the Garden of Eden to till the ground from where he was taken.

Now, I'm not going to get into an in depth study on that here, but he was removed from the Garden of Eden and placed into what we would call the natural earth.

Okay.

I have a study that we're doing on portals and.

And how those things all line up with what the scripture says.

That'll be for a different day and time.

You can see that on my preaching program, Freedom Through Faith Ministries.

But here, he's removed from the garden, from paradise and placed into the natural earth.

Therefore, yo Yahweh Elohim sent him forth from the Garden of Eden to till the ground from where he was taken.

So he drove out the man, and he placed at the east of the Garden of Eden cherubims and flaming and a flaming sword which turned every way to keep the way of the Tree of Life.

To keep.

That means to protect.

We studied this in Genesis 2, where God told Adam to, you know, till 10, tend to the garden and to keep it.

To tend the garden and keep it.

And that word keep means protect.

Like if I gave you a million dollars and said, here, hold this for me.

I gave you something precious and said, here, hold this for me.

Keep this for me.

I need you to keep this for me.

That means to protect it.

It's not yours to spend.

It's not yours to do with as you please.

Said, keep this for me.

That means to protect it.

And that's what we see here.

The cherubims and the flaming sword is.

Was to keep the Tree of Life.

Now, again, using that analogy of, say, a portal or a set area that's protected, we see that throughout scripture.

You see that through, you know, Lazarus and the rich man.

They were in this area.

They were in the Earth, died.

One went up to towards heaven, one went down.

Right?

But they can see each other.

They just can't access each other, and they can no longer have access to the Earth.

Those are the separate areas.

That's.

That's kind of how I'm.

A quick summary on what I'm talking about with the little portals and areas like that.

But the point that I'm trying to make here is if Adam was left where he was, he could take from the Tree of Life and live forever in a fallen state.

God had to remove him from that, put him back into the natural earth home.

You got to tend to yourself now in the.

In paradise, in the Garden of Eden, everything was provided for him.

Everything was provided for him here.

Now we're protecting the Tree of Life.

And the Tree of Life, what's in Revelation 22 at the end?

The Tree of Life, it's still in existence.

It exists today in that area of the Garden.

I believe that ultimately we will Be back in paradise again.

Amen.

And here we are.

We see the Tree of Life here in the beginning.

And the Tree of Life is at the end of the Bible also.

So that's what I wanted you to see from that, to stop man from living in a fallen state forever by eating from the Tree of Life.

Now, chapter four, verse one, Genesis, Chapter four, verse one.

See where time is here.

And Adam knew Eve, his wife, and she conceived.

So now they're getting into the procreation aspect of their existence.

And bore Cain and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.

I've gotten a man from Jehovah, from Yahweh, I've gotten a man from Elohim, that Lord, capital L O R D is Elohim.

And she again bore his brother Abel.

Abel was a keeper of the sheep.

There's that word again.

He's not a shepherd.

I mean, that's probably what he was doing.

But he's a keeper, a protector of the sheep.

And.

But Cain was a tiller of the ground.

Two different jobs.

One was to protect the sheep.

One was to provide food.

Think about that.

The tiller of the ground, digging the ground, plant the plants, harvest the crops.

The other was taking care of the sheep.

That's the.

The food plus the sacrifices and all that.

Keeper, that's a very important word there.

Verse 3, chapter 4, verse 3.

And in the process of time, it came to pass that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground and offering unto the Lord.

And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock out of the fat thereof.

The Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering.

But to Cain and his offering, he did not have respect.

Now stop right there for a second.

Why.

Why did he respect one offering and not the other?

Well, it's been studied by experts more thorough than I am in this, but basically, Cain just brought some of the food from the harvest.

They're like, hey, it's time to give an offering to the Lord.

Okay, I'll meet you over there.

He goes over here and gets some of this, some of that, some of that, and takes it out.

Here you go, God.

That was his attitude where Abel brought the first links.

Read it right there.

The firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof, he brought the perfect lambs.

He brought the first harvest.

He brought the tithe, if you want to call it that.

Okay.

And the Lord had respect for what Abel was doing.

Cain just brought.

Okay, you know, and we see that maybe you.

I don't know.

I've lived that Life before as well.

You know, you get paid, you go to church, and you know, you know you're supposed to give the first fruits, right?

The first fruits, the tithe.

And you're like, okay, you know, you did all this.

You paid all the bills.

You got this.

Okay, let me give.

Check here.

$20.

You know, drop it in the plate.

$20.

What's the tithe?

What is your tithe for that week's paycheck, even if you get paid every other week?

See what I'm saying?

You're just so absorbed by work and all that, and without thinking about it, you just.

Okay, we'll give this.

We'll just give this.

That's what Cain did here.

Abel was intentional.

He took the first links, the first born of this flock, and offered it to the Lord.

That put the blessing on the rest of the flock.

Okay, that's what we're talking about here, folks.

And the Lord said to Cain, why are you angry?

Why is your continents falling up here?

We read verse five, he said, and Cain was very wroth and his continents fell.

He had envy.

He envied his brother for his offering being accepted.

He was angry at his brother because he was probably told what to bring and he didn't do it.

And now Cain and Abel have this animosity between them.

And he said in verse seven, if you do well, in other words, if you do what you're supposed to do, you won't.

Won't you be accepted.

But if you're not doing what you're supposed to do, if you're not doing well, sin is lying at your door, and unto you shall be his desire.

He will have his desire over you, which is to keep you separated from God.

And it.

Verse 7, Again, if you do not do well, sin lies at the door.

And unto you shall be his desire, and you shall rule over him.

You can rule over the devil.

You can rule over sin just by doing what's supposed to be done.

That's what God's saying.

Here's verse eight.

We add up.

We'll just stop right there.
