Pastor Bob Thibodeau delves into Genesis chapter three and four, focusing on the significance of Adam and Eve’s transition from the Garden of Eden to the natural earth.
He emphasizes that God removed them from paradise to prevent them from eating from the Tree of Life in a fallen state, highlighting the importance of this act in the broader narrative of salvation.
The discussion transitions to the story of Cain and Abel, examining their differing offerings to God and the underlying attitudes that influenced their acceptability.
Pastor Bob explains that Abel’s offering was intentional and sacrificial, while Cain's was more casual and less thoughtful, leading to divine disfavor.
The episode concludes with reflections on the nature of sin and the choices individuals have in their relationship with God, encouraging listeners to be mindful in their spiritual practices.

Pastor Bob:In this unique study, Pastor Bob takes you through the Bible just a few verses at a time, from Genesis all the way through the book of the Revelation.
Pastor Bob:No preaching, just a simple Bible reading with examples and short explanations of the meaning behind the Scriptures.
Pastor Bob:Your 15 minute daily Bible walk is designed for those who are so busy it's hard for them to do a daily Bible study.
Pastor Bob:So Pastor Bob developed this program so you could study the Bible in just 15 minutes a day.
Pastor Bob:Now with today's scripture study, here's Pastor Bob Tibodo.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Hello everyone, everywhere.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Pastor Bob Thibodeau here.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Welcome to the faith.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:I'm sorry.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Welcome to the 15 Minute Bible Walk Podcast.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Today, Praise God.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:It's January 5th with and.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And we're just getting into this.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:We left off last time in Genesis chapter three, verse 19.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:So we'll begin today in Genesis chapter three, verse 20.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And Adam called his wife's name Eve, which means living, because she was the mother of all living things.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Now to Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God, Yahweh, Jehovah, Yahweh.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:I'm sorry, Yahweh Elohim.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Yahweh Elohim made coats of skins and clothed them.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Now, this is probably a lamb.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:The Bible's not specific on it, but it would make sense because one, it's an innocent thing.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Two, throughout scripture, the Old Testament into the New Testament, lambs were offered for sacrifices for sins and Jesus is called the Lamb of God.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:So it would make sense that it would be a lamb that is offered here for Adam and Eve as well.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Verse 22.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And Yahweh Elohim said, look, behold, the man has become as one of us to know good and evil.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Now, you see that colon right there?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:In the King James Version, the colonial in English is translated as so that.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Or so would be something like that.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:So we can read it like this.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:The man has become as one of us to know good and evil.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And now.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:So now lest he puts forth his hand and takes also of the tree of life and eats and lives forever.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:So we have to do this is what it's saying there, that the Lord God sent him, sent man Adam and Eve out from the Garden of Eden to till the ground from where he was taken.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Now, I'm not going to get into an in depth study on that here, but he was removed from the Garden of Eden and placed into what we would call the natural earth.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Okay.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:I have a study that we're doing on portals and.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And how those things all line up with what the scripture says.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:That'll be for a different day and time.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You can see that on my preaching program, Freedom Through Faith Ministries.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:But here, he's removed from the garden, from paradise and placed into the natural earth.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Therefore, yo Yahweh Elohim sent him forth from the Garden of Eden to till the ground from where he was taken.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:So he drove out the man, and he placed at the east of the Garden of Eden cherubims and flaming and a flaming sword which turned every way to keep the way of the Tree of Life.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:To keep.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:That means to protect.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:We studied this in Genesis 2, where God told Adam to, you know, till 10, tend to the garden and to keep it.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:To tend the garden and keep it.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And that word keep means protect.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Like if I gave you a million dollars and said, here, hold this for me.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:I gave you something precious and said, here, hold this for me.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Keep this for me.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:I need you to keep this for me.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:That means to protect it.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:It's not yours to spend.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:It's not yours to do with as you please.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Said, keep this for me.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:That means to protect it.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And that's what we see here.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:The cherubims and the flaming sword is.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Was to keep the Tree of Life.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Now, again, using that analogy of, say, a portal or a set area that's protected, we see that throughout scripture.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You see that through, you know, Lazarus and the rich man.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:They were in this area.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:They were in the Earth, died.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:One went up to towards heaven, one went down.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Right?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:But they can see each other.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:They just can't access each other, and they can no longer have access to the Earth.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Those are the separate areas.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:That's.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:That's kind of how I'm.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:A quick summary on what I'm talking about with the little portals and areas like that.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:But the point that I'm trying to make here is if Adam was left where he was, he could take from the Tree of Life and live forever in a fallen state.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:God had to remove him from that, put him back into the natural earth home.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You got to tend to yourself now in the.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:In paradise, in the Garden of Eden, everything was provided for him.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Everything was provided for him here.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Now we're protecting the Tree of Life.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And the Tree of Life, what's in Revelation 22 at the end?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:The Tree of Life, it's still in existence.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:It exists today in that area of the Garden.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:I believe that ultimately we will Be back in paradise again.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And here we are.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:We see the Tree of Life here in the beginning.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And the Tree of Life is at the end of the Bible also.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:So that's what I wanted you to see from that, to stop man from living in a fallen state forever by eating from the Tree of Life.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Now, chapter four, verse one, Genesis, Chapter four, verse one.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:See where time is here.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And Adam knew Eve, his wife, and she conceived.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:So now they're getting into the procreation aspect of their existence.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And bore Cain and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:I've gotten a man from Jehovah, from Yahweh, I've gotten a man from Elohim, that Lord, capital L O R D is Elohim.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And she again bore his brother Abel.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Abel was a keeper of the sheep.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:There's that word again.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:He's not a shepherd.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:I mean, that's probably what he was doing.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:But he's a keeper, a protector of the sheep.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:But Cain was a tiller of the ground.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Two different jobs.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:One was to protect the sheep.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:One was to provide food.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Think about that.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:The tiller of the ground, digging the ground, plant the plants, harvest the crops.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:The other was taking care of the sheep.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:That's the.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:The food plus the sacrifices and all that.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Keeper, that's a very important word there.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Verse 3, chapter 4, verse 3.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And in the process of time, it came to pass that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground and offering unto the Lord.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock out of the fat thereof.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:The Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:But to Cain and his offering, he did not have respect.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Now stop right there for a second.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Why.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Why did he respect one offering and not the other?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Well, it's been studied by experts more thorough than I am in this, but basically, Cain just brought some of the food from the harvest.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:They're like, hey, it's time to give an offering to the Lord.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Okay, I'll meet you over there.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:He goes over here and gets some of this, some of that, some of that, and takes it out.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Here you go, God.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:That was his attitude where Abel brought the first links.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Read it right there.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:The firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof, he brought the perfect lambs.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:He brought the first harvest.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:He brought the tithe, if you want to call it that.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Okay.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And the Lord had respect for what Abel was doing.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Cain just brought.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Okay, you know, and we see that maybe you.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:I don't know.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:I've lived that Life before as well.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You know, you get paid, you go to church, and you know, you know you're supposed to give the first fruits, right?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:The first fruits, the tithe.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And you're like, okay, you know, you did all this.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You paid all the bills.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You got this.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Okay, let me give.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Check here.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:$20.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You know, drop it in the plate.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:$20.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:What's the tithe?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:What is your tithe for that week's paycheck, even if you get paid every other week?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:See what I'm saying?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You're just so absorbed by work and all that, and without thinking about it, you just.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Okay, we'll give this.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:We'll just give this.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:That's what Cain did here.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Abel was intentional.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:He took the first links, the first born of this flock, and offered it to the Lord.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:That put the blessing on the rest of the flock.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Okay, that's what we're talking about here, folks.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And the Lord said to Cain, why are you angry?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Why is your continents falling up here?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:We read verse five, he said, and Cain was very wroth and his continents fell.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:He had envy.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:He envied his brother for his offering being accepted.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:He was angry at his brother because he was probably told what to bring and he didn't do it.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And now Cain and Abel have this animosity between them.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And he said in verse seven, if you do well, in other words, if you do what you're supposed to do, you won't.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Won't you be accepted.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:But if you're not doing what you're supposed to do, if you're not doing well, sin is lying at your door, and unto you shall be his desire.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:He will have his desire over you, which is to keep you separated from God.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And it.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Verse 7, Again, if you do not do well, sin lies at the door.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And unto you shall be his desire, and you shall rule over him.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You can rule over the devil.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You can rule over sin just by doing what's supposed to be done.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:That's what God's saying.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Here's verse eight.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:We add up.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:We'll just stop right there.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:We're almost out of time here for today.
