Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1295 of our trek, and it is time for our 3-minute mini trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.
Today’s quote is from William Arthur Ward, and it is "Another fresh new year is here...another year to live! To banish worry, doubt, and fear, to love and laugh and give! This bright New Year is given to me to live each day with zest...to daily grow and try to be My highest and my best! I have the opportunity once more to right some wrongs, to pray for peace, to plant a tree, and sing more joyful songs."
Another Fresh Year
There is always something special about new beginnings that brings excitement and vigor into our lives. I think of the first crocus that pokes its bloom through the still cold ground as it is one of the first signs of spring and signals that warm weather and new growth will soon be seen everywhere.
We have just begun a brand new year, and with a brand new decade ahead of us, to me, it is really an exceptionally exciting time. As I age and gain wisdom that comes with years of living, I see this as a very exciting time to be alive. This is the most exciting time in history to be alive.
Technology breakthroughs in the form of medicine, farming, energy, environment, finances, communication, and a slew of other areas are globally providing more freedom, reducing poverty, extending life spans, providing energy, and connecting all nations in a more peaceful world than has ever been the case in all of human history.
You may not get this message from the major media outlets or the internet, but the true facts tell us a different story. There has never been a better time to be alive, and this really is exciting for me.
We all have to make a choice in how we will view this new year and new decade. You have another year to be alive! To banish worry, doubt, and fear, to love and laugh and give! This bright New Year is an opportunity to live each day with zest...to daily grow and try to be your highest and your best! You have the opportunity once more to right some wrongs, to pray for peace, to plant a tree, and sing more joyful songs. My admonition to you is to “Make it so!”
That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”
