There is a stigma attached to type 2 diabetes.
A stigma of shame. A guilt and embarrassment. It can make us feel like we're broken or defective in some way. We might even start blaming ourselves for our circumstances...or worse yet think that it's our fault that other people are so unkind to us.
The truth is: there are many reasons why type 2 diabetes has become stigmatized-and fighting back isn't easy. I chat with Dex Geralds to get his take on changing the narrative about those living with type 2 diabetes.
