Speaker:

If you're a new coach, have

you found your niche yet?

2

:

I know a lot of coaches probably have

their niche and they're trying to figure

3

:

out where their ideal client is located.

4

:

But what if you haven't

figured out your niche?

5

:

Can you still coach or do you have to wait

till you figure it out in order to start?

6

:

When I first started my coaching

business, I didn't have a niche.

7

:

I wanted to help everybody

and it drove me crazy.

8

:

So in this episode, we're going to talk

about the niche, how to find your niche

9

:

and how it fits you and your business

because You can't help everybody.

10

:

I know you want to be a superwoman,

but we can't help everybody.

11

:

Welcome to Queens Rise to CEO,

the podcast for women coaches and

12

:

crafters on the journey to success.

13

:

I'm your host, Talena Bacon, your go to

business strategy coach, supporting you

14

:

on this adventure towards attracting

clients and skyrocketing your sales.

15

:

Picture this podcast has your cozy corner

where I spilled tea on all things online

16

:

business, From kickstarting your coaching

or crafting journey to mastering organic

17

:

marketing, client attraction, social

media strategies, and so much more.

18

:

Plus, I'll be talking about some

of my coaching programs designed

19

:

to help you create a strategy

as unique as your business.

20

:

With over three decades of experience,

you can bet I've got some juicy stories

21

:

to tell and insider secrets to share.

22

:

Don't forget to hit the subscribe

button or give me a follow because when

23

:

it comes to chatting about business.

24

:

They say I've got the gift of gab,

especially after a cup of coffee.

25

:

So grab your favorite beverage,

a pen, and some paper, and get

26

:

ready to unleash your inner CEO.

27

:

Let's do this.

28

:

When I first started in this coaching

industry, I kept hearing about the niche.

29

:

You have to have your niche in

order to find your target client,

30

:

your target market, who would be

the person you need to work with.

31

:

When I started, I couldn't

figure out what my niche was.

32

:

Like I wanted to help everybody.

33

:

And you know, I even tried.

34

:

I went through so much trying to figure

out, okay, what does this person need?

35

:

What does that person need?

36

:

Is she the right person to work with?

37

:

And I couldn't figure it out.

38

:

So I continued to try to help everybody.

39

:

Then after a while I said, wait a

minute, this is not working for me.

40

:

Because as a coach, you have to have

some type of niche on who you serve,

41

:

who is your ideal client and who isn't.

42

:

Otherwise you'll get all kinds of people

in your DMs or booking calls with people

43

:

who are just not the perfect fit for you.

44

:

So in this episode, we're going to

talk a lot about niches and being a new

45

:

coach and the struggles because let me

tell you, honey, the struggle is real.

46

:

So when I first got into coaching,

like I said, I try to help everybody.

47

:

So I thought that my Niche was crafters.

48

:

Now, mind you, trust me, it's

going to come full circle.

49

:

I was helping women do everything.

50

:

Setting up your business,

pricing, craft shows.

51

:

It was like, I was their business.

52

:

I said, okay, fine, do this,

do this, do this, do this.

53

:

But I didn't have any type of guideline.

54

:

I just, knew that I was, Wanted to

help them succeed in their business.

55

:

So I got to a point that I had

an amazing group but the thing

56

:

is I had everybody in there.

57

:

I was just bombarded with

all kinds of questions.

58

:

Now mind you, I answered the

questions, but it was like, this

59

:

is not the right person for me.

60

:

I had women who didn't want

to succeed in their business.

61

:

They were okay where they were.

62

:

They weren't my ideal client, but I was

trying to make them my ideal client.

63

:

As a coach, you can't make

anybody your ideal client.

64

:

You can't make nobody

want their business more.

65

:

Then you do.

66

:

So if you want your business

more than they do, then they're

67

:

not the right client for you.

68

:

So I had to niche down.

69

:

I had to figure out,

who do I want to serve?

70

:

Who do I want to fit?

71

:

Who do I feel would be my ideal client?

72

:

So it took a while and I said, you

know what, I think I'm a step back,

73

:

step away from coaching for a while

to figure out what am I doing?

74

:

Because I had so many people in my

DMs, I was getting book calls, but

75

:

all these book calls was basically

women who weren't my ideal client.

76

:

And as a coach, you're going to get that.

77

:

You're going to get everybody who's going

to get on calls with you, pick your brain

78

:

basically, and actually all types of

questions pertaining to their business.

79

:

But the thing is, are they

going to put in the work?

80

:

You really don't know.

81

:

So when I stepped away, and then I came

back into it with a new found perspective

82

:

on what I wanted for my business.

83

:

I knew who I wanted as my

client and what I was going to

84

:

deal with and what I wasn't.

85

:

Has a new coach.

86

:

You're going to figure out and I'm

sure you probably know who you want

87

:

to deal with and who you don't.

88

:

Because if someone gets on a call and

they're complaining about their business,

89

:

They don't want to be in business cause

then they're just wasting your time.

90

:

And as a coach, we don't

want nobody wasting our time.

91

:

Ladies, I'm going to be truthful.

92

:

I'm going to always be honest and

come to you and express how I feel.

93

:

Now has a new coach.

94

:

Again, you don't want to waste your

time with people who don't want their

95

:

business, who don't want to do anything,

but just want to come pick your brain

96

:

for things that they're thinking about

doing, but they don't really want to do.

97

:

And then they're complaining.

98

:

Then people get them off your call

as soon as possible because you can't

99

:

change their mind because they came to

you with that negativity in the call.

100

:

You can possibly, go through it a little

bit more and try to convince them how

101

:

important their business is, but you're

not a psychiatrist because if they come in

102

:

that way, they're going to leave that way.

103

:

No matter what you say.

104

:

If you feel you can switch their brains

around completely, then you're good.

105

:

But sometimes you can explain

to them, how important their

106

:

business is and you can ask them

questions to get them to think.

107

:

And maybe, yes, that might

be your ideal client.

108

:

But then you're putting in a

lot of work for that one person.

109

:

When you have a whole lot of other calls

that you got to get through, right?

110

:

So, here's, now that's

my raw thought on it.

111

:

Here's my professional

coaching thought on this.

112

:

As a new coach, when someone comes in and

they're complaining about their business,

113

:

you have to dive in deeper on that.

114

:

Why do they feel this

way about their business?

115

:

What has got them to that point?

116

:

There's something happened within their

business and have them think about,

117

:

well, when you started it, how did you

feel when you started your business?

118

:

And then what changed it was

something within the business

119

:

that you just didn't like.

120

:

Maybe we can switch that around and to

make it more positive for you so that you

121

:

can start to love your business again.

122

:

How does that sound?

123

:

Now.

124

:

That's the coaching way to get it done.

125

:

But the raw thought in

my head is like, Hey.

126

:

You really don't want your business.

127

:

Why are you on the call with me?

128

:

Anyway, you know, but as coaches we think

this way sometimes But we can't say this

129

:

Because we're trying to get that client.

130

:

So there's two types of ways of doing it

Whichever feels good to you go with it So

131

:

as a new coach, you're looking for your

Niche, you want to niche down, niche down

132

:

to the point where you're helping them.

133

:

Your niche has to be suited for you.

134

:

Like, a health coach.

135

:

You would want women

who want to get healthy.

136

:

Who want to, Find ways to, save money

on buying, meals and stuff for them to

137

:

get healthy, so you're a health coach.

138

:

If you're a, physical therapy coach,

you get them for physical therapy.

139

:

If you're a mental coach, then

you're dealing with the mindset.

140

:

, so you have to figure out, if

you're a certain type of coach,

141

:

that's where your niche is around.

142

:

I'm a business strategy coach.

143

:

So my niche is around business.

144

:

It has to horn in with your programs.

145

:

So you want to be able to find

a niche that suits you and suits

146

:

your business because it's so

broad when it comes to niches.

147

:

In this industry, there is so

many outlets that you can do.

148

:

You can go to Instagram and focus

on Instagram and what it is with

149

:

Instagram as far as, reels, posting,,

and the whole concept with Instagram.

150

:

You can do Tik Tok, Tik Tok

with videos or whatever.

151

:

If your specialty is Tik Tok, if your

specialty is Pinterest, they have

152

:

coaches who specialize in Pinterest.

153

:

Or better yet, if you're a podcast

expert and people want to start a

154

:

podcast, then they will come to you

because you're a podcast expert.

155

:

That's your niche.

156

:

That's what you specialize in.

157

:

So your niche is basically what you

feel is good for you and what fits you.

158

:

I'm going to break it

down a little bit further.

159

:

Like, if you're this, you can concentrate

on this, this, and this, as far as

160

:

the programs right after this message,

because I'm gonna need something to drink.

161

:

I'm starting to get posh to you.

162

:

I'll be right back.

163

:

Are you feeling drained from

testing various marketing strategies

164

:

with little to show for it?

165

:

I've been there.

166

:

At the start of my online journey, I

pinned my hopes on sharing posts across

167

:

Facebook groups to flood my inbox with

orders and fill my client calendar.

168

:

But reality hit hard when those

tactics failed to deliver.

169

:

Rather than giving up,

I revisited my approach.

170

:

On my strategy and experienced a

complete turnaround in my business.

171

:

Now I'm so excited to share the insights

I've gained in no money, no problem.

172

:

It's one of my favorite PDFs packed

with 10 marketing tips, tailored for

173

:

coaches and creatives to amplify sales

all while being mindful of your budget.

174

:

Don't let this opportunity

slip through your fingers.

175

:

Snag your free copy on my website.

176

:

That's spelled T A L E N A B A

C O N dot com and kickstart your

177

:

journey to marketing success.

178

:

Now let's get back to the show.

179

:

Okay.

180

:

I'm back.

181

:

I had to go get my coffee.

182

:

I am ready.

183

:

You know me, coffee, and

I am the gift of gab.

184

:

So let's get going.

185

:

Your niche has to be

focused on your programs.

186

:

Like I said, with, different

programs, what do you specialize in?

187

:

What do you enjoy doing with your eyes

closed, hands tied behind your back?

188

:

What do you enjoy creating?

189

:

What do you enjoy helping women with?

190

:

So let's break it down a little bit more.

191

:

Remember clubhouse was all the rave.

192

:

Everybody had to get into the

clubhouse and then it just died down.

193

:

What if you want to get

back into Clubhouse?

194

:

There's this young lady that,

specializes in Clubhouse, getting

195

:

everything done on Clubhouse.

196

:

And she's wonderful.

197

:

She went through different, programs

and masterminds and things like that.

198

:

, let me see if I can find her on my phone.

199

:

And the thing is, I still learn a

lot from her, even though I don't

200

:

do Clubhouse as much as I should.

201

:

Plus, Clubhouse is a great outlet.

202

:

But that is her specialty.

203

:

That's her niche.

204

:

Clubhouse.

205

:

Yes, the young lady's

name, Mimi from Clubhouse.

206

:

So Mimi, if you happen to listen to

my podcast, girl, do what you do.

207

:

Because, I follow you and I enjoy it.

208

:

So, look up Mimi from Clubhouse.

209

:

Her name is Mimi Langley.

210

:

So follow Mimi Langley.

211

:

If you want to get into clubhouse.

212

:

So I'm just putting it in.

213

:

She didn't tell me to advertise, but I

just happened to mention clubhouse and

214

:

I know I follow her and she's amazing.

215

:

So if your niche is clubhouse.

216

:

Get some information from Mimi Langley.

217

:

She's great.

218

:

Right?

219

:

So if it's not clubhouse, it's TikTok.

220

:

I don't know too many people who

do TikTok cause I can tell you, I

221

:

don't even do TikTok, but, there's

a few people that says that's a good

222

:

way to get your business out there.

223

:

So if your niche is and you want to find

people, you can find people on TikTok.

224

:

But again, your niche has to be specific

towards what you do, what you feel, what

225

:

you're comfortable in creating, what

you're comfortable talking about that you

226

:

can talk about day, night, in your sleep.

227

:

You want to be able to horn in

on your specialty, what you do,

228

:

what you're good at, and then your

niche is people who want to learn

229

:

that, who want to get information

from you, who want to work with you.

230

:

At least that's my, take on it.

231

:

So that's it in a nutshell.

232

:

Don't try to be a niche for everything.

233

:

Don't try to help everybody.

234

:

Like I said, remember I said, I wanted to

help crafters and help them do everything.

235

:

No, I can't help you do everything, but

I specialize in, growing your Facebook

236

:

group, I specialize in your business

page, I specialize in organic marketing.

237

:

I can get you out there as far as

Getting your business going, but I'm not

238

:

going to help you create your product.

239

:

I'm not going to, you know,

tell you what's the right price.

240

:

Now I can give you some tips because

I've been doing crafting for over

241

:

30 plus years and give you tips.

242

:

But the thing is my product and my

pricing is a lot different because

243

:

it's gotten a lot further, but I can

give you tips on when I first started

244

:

and then you can go from there.

245

:

But I won't go deeply into that

because although I know a lot about it.

246

:

So my specialty is basically

organic marketing and getting

247

:

your business out there.

248

:

So that's what I focus on the most.

249

:

But you can always, create

smaller programs that horn in

250

:

and out other things, you know.

251

:

Just want to put that in there.

252

:

So I decided I'm going to do crafting and

help crafters and help them with that.

253

:

But then I'm a business strategy coach.

254

:

So I want to help new coaches who

are just starting their business.

255

:

They want to get their first client.

256

:

they want to know about, , funnels,

landing pages, you go on your email list,

257

:

, reaching out to the right client, getting

your website, getting your Facebook

258

:

business page going, getting your Facebook

group going, getting your clients on

259

:

discovery calls, things of that nature.

260

:

So I know my specialty is that as well.

261

:

So now I have a niche where I

can help crafters to a certain

262

:

point and new coaches to a

certain point to get them started.

263

:

So I ended up having both in a long one,

especially when I didn't really want to

264

:

do crafting because it hurt me that a lot

of people didn't want to get any further

265

:

than where they were in their business.

266

:

I just believe no matter what, whether

you're a coach or a crafter, you

267

:

want to get further in your business.

268

:

You just want to don't

be stagnant in one thing.

269

:

Because imagine, you're

creating one particular crafter.

270

:

Do you want to continue to make

that one product all your life or

271

:

do you want to try something new?

272

:

Has a new coach.

273

:

you want to be a new coach,

but you want to excel.

274

:

You want to be the point to

you're making 10 K months.

275

:

So if you stuck at, I just want

to make one to 5k and that's it.

276

:

Then I don't see that.

277

:

And that's just, My take on

it, I've always wanted to excel

278

:

further and further and further.

279

:

And I want my clients to excel

further and further and further.

280

:

And I want them to pick my brain.

281

:

You know, if you have things

that's going to help you grow your

282

:

business, ask me if you don't be

afraid to ask me things, you know.

283

:

My mom always taught me a

closed mouth don't get fed.

284

:

So a closed mouth is not going to

give you no knowledge to actually grow

285

:

your business unless you open your

mouth and speak it and ask questions.

286

:

So what is your niche?

287

:

What do you specialize in?

288

:

What is the programs that you

have that you can actually say,

289

:

okay, I am a business owner.

290

:

I'm great at this.

291

:

I enjoyed this.

292

:

I could help women do this.

293

:

And I could talk about this

day, night, no matter what.

294

:

Because once you have that, and you know

exactly what you want to talk about,

295

:

your exact client will come to you.

296

:

They will come to you because

you're speaking their language.

297

:

You're speaking what they've

been thinking, but afraid to ask.

298

:

So, until next time ladies, have

Whether you're a coach or crafter,

299

:

don't stay stagnant in one level.

300

:

Move up to that next level.

301
