Speaker:

Welcome to begin as you mean to go

on where we help black women with

2

:

mission-driven service-based businesses,

grow your income and impact while

3

:

creating a more peaceful, profitable

business by strategically automating

4

:

your critical business systems

5

:

Kronda: My name is Kronda Adair.

6

:

And I went from making $500

websites to becoming a certified

7

:

automation service provider.

8

:

Doing multiple six figures per year,

while working part-time wrangling

9

:

to high energy dogs and having some

of my highest revenue months while

10

:

taking completely off-grid vacations.

11

:

Thanks to strategic

automation and a small team.

12

:

Inside my million dollar system service

and my automation club membership, we

13

:

help you create a cohesive software

stack and automate one new thing per

14

:

month in your business resulting in a

compound interest of time, energy and.

15

:

peace So you can build your business

without the patriarchal white

16

:

supremacist hustle and grind.

17

:

If you're ready to work hard once

and hire and employ technology to

18

:

execute proven marketing strategies.

19

:

So you can get back to the rest

of your business and your life.

20

:

You are in the right place.

21

:

Let's get it going.

22

:

Hello friends, welcome back

to Begin As You Mean To Go On.

23

:

So happy to be back in your ear holes

and today I want to talk to you about

24

:

the Black Women Business Project.

25

:

What is it?

26

:

Why is it?

27

:

How's it going?

28

:

So what had happened was November

5th there was an election and the

29

:

whole country showed just what

they think about Black women.

30

:

and it wasn't really a surprise to

any of us but it really galvanized me.

31

:

into taking action on something

I've been thinking about for a long

32

:

time, which is, I have really wanted

more black women in my business.

33

:

I've wanted to, help serve more black

women, help more black women automate

34

:

their businesses, because nobody

needs rest and peace more than we do.

35

:

Hey, and I live in Portland, Oregon.

36

:

Portland is a really white city.

37

:

It's one of the whitest

large cities in the U.

38

:

S.

39

:

And even though I work online, I've

worked with clients all over the world, I

40

:

think, most of my clients were white women

because of the network I was naturally in.

41

:

And, I always say, it's like bunnies.

42

:

white women just beget more white women.

43

:

So even though we have Some amazing case

studies that you can go to our website

44

:

and our YouTube channel to check out.

45

:

That's not going to get more black

women in my circle and in my network.

46

:

So post election, I was on Tik TOK

mostly and I was showing up there more

47

:

and there was really a wave of black

women saying, Hey, you know what?

48

:

We're done.

49

:

We're done.

50

:

We're done being gas lit.

51

:

We're done.

52

:

With y'all pulling the football out from

under us Charlie Brown style and so I

53

:

really looked at it as an opportunity

to ride the wave and Expand my network

54

:

and connect with some more of the women

that I was looking for and so I started

55

:

showing up there I started engaging

more with other black women, business

56

:

owners and other black women, period,

using the hashtags, like all the things.

57

:

And then I realized if I want more

black women in my business, I need

58

:

to just talk to more black women.

59

:

I think, I had gotten into a

mode of, oh, if I need clients,

60

:

then I need sales calls, right?

61

:

And so all the talking to people got

framed through getting sales calls.

62

:

And Really what makes or breaks

a business is your network.

63

:

People say that all the time, right?

64

:

it's who you know.

65

:

And so I realized I needed to let

go of that and chill out and just.

66

:

Talked to more black women.

67

:

So thus the black woman project was

born and I made a goal to talk to a

68

:

hundred black women Before the end of

:

69

:

this on tik tok on threads on LinkedIn

I actually got banned on not banned.

70

:

I put up a post on LinkedIn about

this and it promptly got flagged

71

:

So then I had to do some weird

work around code language bullshit.

72

:

so whatever LinkedIn.

73

:

But I started talking about it and

I quickly got my calendar was full.

74

:

I had a few calls in December.

75

:

I had a bunch of calls in January and I'm

looking to fill up my February calendar.

76

:

It's so funny because so much of

the spam that I get is we can get

77

:

you a hundred sales calls a week.

78

:

I'm like, who, who wants that?

79

:

But when I looked at my January call

calendar and it was filled with calls

80

:

scheduled with, black women like that made

me happy and the conversations, I don't go

81

:

into the conversation with any particular

agenda other than, connecting with new

82

:

people and, seeing if we vibe right

and seeing how we can help each other.

83

:

And so some of the calls

are, very business focused.

84

:

We share about each other's businesses.

85

:

We figure out, maybe do we

have compatible, offers?

86

:

Do we have similar aligned

audiences and things like that?

87

:

And honestly, some of the calls are

geeking out over Wicked, and like

88

:

other things that we nerd out about.

89

:

So it really could go anywhere.

90

:

I don't have an agenda.

91

:

there have definitely been

some great things, business

92

:

wise that have come out of it.

93

:

So statistics wise, at this point in

time, I'm looking at my call dashboard.

94

:

I've completed 38.

95

:

calls with black women business

owners, I would say that 99.

96

:

9 percent of those have

been just delightful.

97

:

Just, I leave so

energized, and so do they.

98

:

I've had maybe two calls where I

was like, Oh, that was a weird vibe.

99

:

I had one call where I immediately

unfollowed that person, but by and large,

100

:

these calls have been just delightful.

101

:

And, so I have 45 chats scheduled, out

of those 45, I've completed 38 of them.

102

:

And, if you are not black and you're

listening to this, you're not a

103

:

black woman, you might be wondering,

like, where, what's my role in this?

104

:

Is there one?

105

:

Is there some way I can help?

106

:

And yes, there is.

107

:

If you know, black women, business

owners in your network, who might be

108

:

into this, who might, be excited about

talking with a black woman, business

109

:

owner, who is a systems expert, a tech

strategist and automations expert.

110

:

hook me up, send me a DM, send

me an email, send an email intro.

111

:

and I'm creating this podcast because

I've definitely had people come back

112

:

and say, well, well, what is this?

113

:

maybe, and there's enough weird

shenanigans going on out there in

114

:

marketing land that I totally get that.

115

:

Hence this podcast.

116

:

you can send them this episode and

you can say, Hey, if this sounds

117

:

good to you, I'll introduce you.

118

:

and then I will send them the

black woman calendar link.

119

:

The black woman calendar link

is not published anywhere.

120

:

it is sent out on a case by case basis

to people who asked to receive it.

121

:

So that's that.

122

:

and as far as what's come out of this,

So far, haven't gotten new clients per

123

:

se, but definitely have connected with

some powerhouse women y'all, and I've

124

:

been invited on three podcasts from doing

this where we have a great conversation.

125

:

The person has a podcast and says,

Hey, we need to do this again.

126

:

You need to drop some gems on my podcast.

127

:

you can find the mindful marketing

podcast I talked with Andrea,

128

:

that dropped in mid January.

129

:

So I'll put that episode

in the show notes.

130

:

I was also a guest on the Girl Get

Visible podcast, so that will be,

131

:

publishing here shortly, so I'll add that.

132

:

And then I had probably one of the best

go to church, nerd out conversations,

133

:

for the More Than Marketing podcast.

134

:

I cannot wait for that to come out.

135

:

That's coming out, towards the end of Q1.

136

:

just so many great conversations and

opportunities, some folks have already

137

:

connected me with other people who, are

, interested in being referral partners

138

:

and things like that, I'm just loving

the vibes, I'm loving the network, I

139

:

didn't even think of this, but somebody

on Threads, suggested doing a group call.

140

:

So that will definitely be happening.

141

:

I will organize a group call at

the end of q1 Everybody who passed

142

:

the vibe check will be invited.

143

:

So again, no hardcore agenda just coming

together i'm already the more people I

144

:

meet the more people i'm realizing like

oh you need to talk to this person that

145

:

I met a week ago, so that's really been

great and It's also inspiring me to get

146

:

my systems a little bit more in order.

147

:

Now I am a systems girlie

and so I already had.

148

:

A system that was going, but

as I do more of these, I'm just

149

:

getting more and more systemized.

150

:

in part, thanks to Ashley

over at Systems Over Stress.

151

:

I'm a big fan of her Airtable templates.

152

:

She's got the call hub.

153

:

She's got the client hub dashboard.

154

:

so I've been using Airtable and

just leveling up and installing

155

:

more and more Airtable systems.

156

:

So if you want a little behind the

scenes, when someone schedules a

157

:

call, and it could be any call through

Calendly, all of those calls go

158

:

into my Airtable Call Hub dashboard.

159

:

And so then when I'm having the

call, I have an interface where

160

:

I can go and I can say, okay,

this is who I'm talking to today.

161

:

These are the notes that they shared

when they booked the call and then I

162

:

have a system where I can Take notes or

pop the transcript in right away after

163

:

the call And I can write the follow up

email right there while it's fresh in my

164

:

mind and i'm thinking about it and i'm

remembering Oh, I said i'd send you this

165

:

link or that link And then I just click

a button and it sends the email without

166

:

me having to context switch and flip

over into my inbox So that's how I do it.

167

:

The more I do it, the easier it

gets and the more things I think,

168

:

Oh, I'm going to install this new

feature to make it even easier.

169

:

So recently, somebody was asking

me, Oh, how many have you had?

170

:

And I realized, Oh, I didn't

know off the top of my head.

171

:

So I went and built an interface

dashboard to track all the calls.

172

:

So that's the kind of

things I nerd out on.

173

:

I'm going to wrap this up, but if

you are a black woman and you have a

174

:

business and you want to chat, hit me up.

175

:

You can hit me up on Instagram DMs,

on LinkedIn, email, any of the ways.

176

:

And let me know if you want to

get on the black woman calendar.

177

:

If you are not a black woman in business,

but you know, some cool black women

178

:

in business, hook me up, send them

this podcast, make an introduction.

179

:

And, it just gets better and

better as things go along.

180

:

So that's all for today.

181

:

I'll see you next time.

182

:

Thanks for listening to

begin as you mean to go on.

:

If you like this episode, show your love

by leaving us a five star rating and
