Takeaways:

  • God is in charge of our journey, guiding us through life's challenges and uncertainties.
  • Each moment of struggle can lead to greater dependence on God and spiritual growth.
  • When we feel distant from God, it's often our own choices that create the distance, not Him.
  • Sharing our testimonies and experiences can encourage others and strengthen our own faith.
  • Prayer is essential; it works when grounded in faith and trust in God's plan.
  • Scripture reminds us to put our hope in God, especially during difficult times.

Transcripts

David Spoon:

And now for something completely different.

David Spoon:

Here's what's coming up this hour on Today's Experience.

David Spoon:

It's wild and wonderful.

David Spoon:

What's gonna happen?

David Spoon:

We have no idea.

David Spoon:

Let's sit back and enjoy the ride.

David Spoon:

Can I get a wowser Bowser Wednesday?

David Spoon:

Because God is in charge of this crazy bus called the Christian Journey.

David Spoon:

First, this message that I'm gonna share with you is one of the five messages that have changed my own life.

David Spoon:

I mean, they're that core to me.

David Spoon:

Every moment I share with you in regard to this lesson I have used, I am using, or I will use the actual title many moons ago was called Recovery.

David Spoon:

And without the Lord taking me through this time, I would not be in ministry today.

David Spoon:

I've read this, I've taught this, I've engaged with this multiple times, and I really encourage anybody who is affected by it to do the very same.

David Spoon:

Next, throughout the journey, we have moments that challenge our faith, right?

David Spoon:

It's amazing because that Phil that came on in between the segment answering Sergio and that Phil and what's going on right now are all connected.

David Spoon:

God is doing something, and we ought to be listening.

David Spoon:

So it's easy for us to fall into disappointment or even discouragement, depending on the level of trial or struggle and the fixation of our sight.

David Spoon:

So when we enter into this place, it creates a sense of distance between us and God.

David Spoon:

The irony, of course, is that if God feels far, he didn't move, we did.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

And what we're missing is one key moment.

David Spoon:

I know it's crazy.

David Spoon:

Remember what I've been saying, and I'm saying it again, and I want you to hear me.

David Spoon:

There's a wonderful song about God being the waymaker, and he is the waymaker, but he's also the moment maker.

David Spoon:

Don't forget that finally, for each one of us, when we encounter this moment, we'll improve our dependence upon the Lord God Almighty.

David Spoon:

We will become aware of distractions that try to take us off the journey.

David Spoon:

Sound familiar?

David Spoon:

But we've also come into the wondrous place of deliverance.

David Spoon:

God took the children of Israel from bondage, through the wilderness and into the promised land.

David Spoon:

It's our turn.

David Spoon:

David Spoon's life has been an experience.

David Spoon:

While growing up in a Jewish family, he made a wrong turn towards drug abuse.

David Spoon:

Then David Spoon found Jesus Christ, and his life completely changed.

David Spoon:

The more he studied the gospel, the more he wanted to share his experiences with others.

David Spoon:

After 35 years of ministry, David discovered a new path of service.

David Spoon:

He joined KAAM and this radio program began.

David Spoon:

You're about to hear the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Local, national and heavenly talk.

David Spoon:

Here's what else we're looking at during the show.

David Spoon:

Lessons for surviving living and prevailing politics, entertainment and current events, personal revelations, spiritual observations, my life's insanities and why they so much more.

David Spoon:

Just remember, it's not professional radio.

David Spoon:

And just to make sure you understand it's not professional radio, we want to talk to the gatekeeper of professional radio, he who allows people in and out on professional radio, our very own Jamming Jacob.

David Spoon:

Jamming Jacob as the gatekeeper.

David Spoon:

Is this professional radio?

David Spoon:

No, it is not, David.

David Spoon:

I will not allow it through the gate.

David Spoon:

There you go.

David Spoon:

That is the sum of all you need to know.

David Spoon:

So what is it?

David Spoon:

It's radio, that's what it is.

David Spoon:

It's radio.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

Luckily, just radio.

David Spoon:

It's just radio.

David Spoon:

That's all it is.

David Spoon:

But we want to know how you're doing.

David Spoon:

We want to know what you think, so you can email us during this show.

David Spoon:

That's fun.

David Spoon:

Davidemustincrease.org that's davidemustincrease.org you can text during the show.

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

I love that music.

David Spoon:

I love that intro.

David Spoon:

That was an excellent job on your part, Jammin Jacob.

David Spoon:

And by the way, talking to Jammin Jacob is the same as waking up and feeling like you got a great night's sleep.

David Spoon:

Thank you, David.

David Spoon:

Happy Wednesday.

David Spoon:

Happy Wednesday to you, my friend.

David Spoon:

We're off and running on another show that has absolutely nothing to do with the things that I prepared.

David Spoon:

Isn't that fun?

David Spoon:

Business as usual.

David Spoon:

Business as usual.

David Spoon:

That's for sure.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

That seems to be the case.

David Spoon:

Often seems to be the case.

David Spoon:

Here is the bottom line.

David Spoon:

I love it.

David Spoon:

All right, here's the bottom line.

David Spoon:

The bottom line is why in the universe would you bother to email us?

David Spoon:

Why in the universe would you bother to text us?

David Spoon:

Or why in the universe would you bother to call us?

David Spoon:

Which are all very fair questions.

David Spoon:

We break it down this way.

David Spoon:

If you've got something to share that the Lord's done, we call that a Praise report or a testimony.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

It doesn't have to be perfected.

David Spoon:

It doesn't have to be shared with brilliance.

David Spoon:

Just share it and let the Lord take care of the rest of it.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because he's the one that anoints what comes out.

David Spoon:

We always think that the words that are coming out are anointed, but it would also be true that the ears that hear are also anointed.

David Spoon:

So let's remember that.

David Spoon:

That's number one.

David Spoon:

Number two, maybe a prayer request.

David Spoon:

We have somebody on the line.

David Spoon:

We're going to get to them in a second.

David Spoon:

But you might have something.

David Spoon:

You just say, hey, I need prayer for this.

David Spoon:

Cool.

David Spoon:

The reason that we do it is because prayer works.

David Spoon:

You know where prayer doesn't work for people?

David Spoon:

When people go, prayer doesn't work.

David Spoon:

You know why it doesn't work for them?

David Spoon:

They have no faith.

David Spoon:

And without faith, it's impossible to please God.

David Spoon:

For those who come to God believe that he is and a rewarder of those who seek Him.

David Spoon:

But without faith, they ain't getting it.

David Spoon:

So that's why we do prayer requests.

David Spoon:

That's why we pray.

David Spoon:

Praise reports, prayer requests.

David Spoon:

Maybe a scripture, maybe something the Lord has just put on your heart.

David Spoon:

Any of that.

David Spoon:

We'll do Bible trivia in a little bit, but we do have somebody on the line, so let's go ahead and send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Rosalind:

Hi, David.

Rosalind:

This is Rosalind.

David Spoon:

Hi, Rosalind.

David Spoon:

How are you?

Rosalind:

I'm doing a little bit better, thank you.

David Spoon:

How are you?

David Spoon:

I'm doing pretty good.

David Spoon:

I'm doing pretty good.

David Spoon:

I don't know if you heard or not, but we do have family coming in Christmas, New Year's and more family coming.

David Spoon:

It's like, yeah, okay.

David Spoon:

You know who's probably really had enough of it is probably Bert.

David Spoon:

Bert's probably, like, going, I would like a break here.

David Spoon:

Right?

Rosalind:

Is he all better now?

David Spoon:

Yes, he is all better.

David Spoon:

He stopped doing that.

David Spoon:

He was making the weirdest noise, Rosalind.

David Spoon:

He was, like, going.

David Spoon:

And then he gotchoo, you know, like.

David Spoon:

And it was just, like, going on for.

David Spoon:

So they did give us a medicine, and he hasn't done it in the last two days.

David Spoon:

He's still got about another three days of medicine, but he seems to be 100%.

David Spoon:

And the reason I can tell that is because he was barking at four in the morning for us to get up and go play with him.

David Spoon:

So I'm thinking he's probably back on target now.

David Spoon:

That's what I'm going with.

David Spoon:

That's good.

Rosalind:

I'm glad to hear it.

David Spoon:

How can I bless you?

David Spoon:

How are you and Robert doing?

David Spoon:

How's Angelina doing?

David Spoon:

How are people in the.

David Spoon:

In the realm of your home?

Rosalind:

Well, my mom is doing better.

Rosalind:

She still has that problem with her foot being asleep.

Rosalind:

And so they keep trying to say it's a diabetic neuropathy, but I'm not really buying that because she.

Rosalind:

She had basically six collapses last year.

Rosalind:

Right.

Rosalind:

And so this hadn't.

Rosalind:

She didn't have this problem until she had that last collapse.

Rosalind:

And those were all related to these.

Rosalind:

The other collapses were related to infections.

Rosalind:

So I don't really think that's it.

Rosalind:

And I'm still hopeful her foot will wake up, but it's still causing her problems.

David Spoon:

Yeah, that'd be difficult.

David Spoon:

For sure.

David Spoon:

For sure.

Rosalind:

And that's keeping her still in the rehab.

Rosalind:

So it's unclear when she gets to come home.

Rosalind:

And then what's it gonna look like?

Rosalind:

Because it's.

Rosalind:

They said basically she needs 24 hour care.

Rosalind:

And so then that's really hard to try to figure that out.

Rosalind:

And maybe my sister will be able to come and help.

Rosalind:

But it's still.

Rosalind:

And we're just praying that God knows what he's doing and that we just got to leave it in his hands and he'll make a way somehow.

David Spoon:

Absolutely, absolutely.

David Spoon:

If you think about the old things that happened in your own life, and you were going through that a couple years ago back and how it was just like, it looks bad, it looks bad, it looks bad.

David Spoon:

But then God was like, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.

David Spoon:

I'm going to make.

David Spoon:

I'm going to make something of this.

David Spoon:

I'm going to change this and turn this into a testimony and people are going to be blown away.

David Spoon:

And that's what happened for you.

David Spoon:

And it's just like, that's the grace of God.

David Spoon:

And so we're going to believe that for Angelina, too.

David Spoon:

We're going to have that same faith, right?

Rosalind:

Yes, exactly.

Rosalind:

And then actually part of why I called today, well, I've got.

Rosalind:

There's so much I want to tell you, David.

Rosalind:

I could take up the whole hour, but I won't do that.

Rosalind:

Sergio called and I wanted to share a scripture that might encourage him as well.

Rosalind:

And it's exactly what you were talking about.

Rosalind:

Because with all of this that's been happening with my mom, I've just been experiencing like this bombardment of spiritual warfare and just kind of these conflicting ideas because, you know, it was so much stress.

Rosalind:

I wasn't really taking care of myself.

Rosalind:

I wasn't eating.

Rosalind:

I couldn't sleep.

Rosalind:

And it's just the stress of it all.

Rosalind:

And so people were saying, well, you need to take better care of yourself, which was true.

Rosalind:

But then some people were kind of pushing more the idea of, you know, you need to step away and just kind of.

Rosalind:

It'll be all right, like, if it's somehow magically going to be all okay, which.

Rosalind:

And God can do anything.

Rosalind:

But it was almost like a lot of deception in there.

David Spoon:

And.

Rosalind:

And then I was really struggling with how to decipher what was true and what was not.

Rosalind:

And Robert would just describe it as this kind of darkness that was weighing me down, and I was just struggling through it.

Rosalind:

And one scripture that I really discovered last year was Psalm 43, verses 5 and 8.

Rosalind:

And it says, why am I discouraged?

Rosalind:

Why is my heart so sad?

Rosalind:

I will put my hope in God.

Rosalind:

I will praise him again, My Savior and my God.

Rosalind:

But each day, the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me.

Rosalind:

And through each night, I sing his songs, praying to God, who gives me life.

Rosalind:

And so I have that problem where I wake up in the middle of the night and I can't sleep, and I can't sleep, and I've actually started living it out that I'll be just.

Rosalind:

Instead of worrying about whatever, I'm worrying about praying about it, and then I just sing praise songs.

Rosalind:

And so I would remember then what.

Rosalind:

You know, count my blessings and what has God done for me before.

Rosalind:

And like you were saying, remember all the things that God has brought me through to bring me back to.

Rosalind:

Well, then, if I know God did all of this before, why am I discouraged and sad now?

Rosalind:

I don't need to be because God's going to get me through this thing also.

Rosalind:

And so it.

Rosalind:

It helped me kind of crawl back out of that pit.

David Spoon:

Exactly.

Rosalind:

I just wanted to share that with Sergio, too, because whenever he gets sad or discouraged, maybe the scripture will help him also.

David Spoon:

Yeah, give me the.

David Spoon:

Give the address again.

David Spoon:

It's Psalm 143 you were reading.

David Spoon:

What the.

David Spoon:

What were the verses you were reading?

Rosalind:

Psalm 42.

David Spoon:

42.

David Spoon:

I'm sorry, 42.

David Spoon:

I thought it was 143.

Rosalind:

42, verses 5 and 8.

David Spoon:

Okay, so Psalm 42.

David Spoon:

5 and 8.

David Spoon:

You got those together, and because of them, the Lord is giving you strength through those verses for you to move closer to him and to push forward in Him.

David Spoon:

And that's kind of not just encouraged you and comforted you, but kind of spurred you onto some activity between you and him.

Rosalind:

Right.

Rosalind:

And then I don't remember where it is, but you probably know in Isaiah, I just read it recently, too, about how praising God for what he did yesterday, or even.

Rosalind:

Even though even before I ask for help, God's already doing something.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

Correct.

David Spoon:

Before you ask, God will answer.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

That's exactly right.

David Spoon:

So here's something I want to say.

David Spoon:

First of all, listen, you're going to just really, you got to catch this.

David Spoon:

It's really kind of cool what you went through and what you're going through and what you will go through.

David Spoon:

I want you to just catch this.

David Spoon:

It is the same thing that David went through and when he was going through stuff.

David Spoon:

And you can identify with it because you've been through it.

David Spoon:

He's going through stuff.

David Spoon:

And it's like, you know what?

David Spoon:

I'm kind of thinking this should be panning out a little different.

David Spoon:

I'm getting kind of discouraged and bumming out.

David Spoon:

But at the same time, Lord, I'm thinking of all these things you've brought me through.

David Spoon:

So why should I not think you're going to bring me through again?

David Spoon:

That is exactly what happens and is happening to you.

David Spoon:

There's no distinction between what happened to Dave and what's happening to you in the context that the Lord has brought you through it.

David Spoon:

He's reminded you.

David Spoon:

He's given you strength to face it and to kind of push through.

David Spoon:

It's just a favor of the most high God in your life that is declaring.

David Spoon:

While it's difficult, I see, because I have seen the hand of God.

David Spoon:

And so you're looking to see it again.

David Spoon:

It's just powerful faith, and that pleases the Lord and he responds to that.

David Spoon:

So it's like, that's such an awesome testimony for people to hear that and for Sergio to pick up on that and for us to get it.

David Spoon:

And I just want to add this in.

David Spoon:

So Jeanette just texted me real quickly.

David Spoon:

You know, she's using the Proverbs 3, 5, and 6 that same way.

David Spoon:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart.

David Spoon:

Lean not on your own understanding and always acknowledge him.

David Spoon:

He'll direct your paths.

David Spoon:

He'll get you through it.

David Spoon:

He'll get you to that place.

David Spoon:

And that's what we need to be aware of, is that God is faithful in this process.

David Spoon:

So we're definitely going to pray for Angelina, but we're also going to pray for you.

David Spoon:

That you would get to share that again and again so that other people can be blessed by it.

David Spoon:

That's what I want to pray that you would be, because you're a steward of it.

David Spoon:

And I love that you have the.

David Spoon:

I don't want to say the courage, but the foresight to go, I got to share this.

David Spoon:

I mean, that's just so important.

David Spoon:

Oh.

David Spoon:

Oh.

David Spoon:

What was that?

David Spoon:

Is that your other line beeping through?

David Spoon:

Is that what that was?

David Spoon:

Oh.

David Spoon:

Hello.

David Spoon:

Did we lose her?

David Spoon:

Okay, well, we're going to pray for her.

David Spoon:

If she wants to call back.

David Spoon:

That could have been her other line, so we're going to see what happens there.

David Spoon:

She might have.

David Spoon:

See, I can talk so much.

David Spoon:

I can talk somebody right off the phone.

David Spoon:

Yeah, it's a talent.

David Spoon:

Remember me?

David Spoon:

A talent.

David Spoon:

You know, Magneto.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

So we're going to get her back on there.

David Spoon:

We're going to pray over Angelia and her.

David Spoon:

But listen to what she was saying.

David Spoon:

The Lord is reminding her, hey, I've got you through so many things.

David Spoon:

I'll get you through this as well.

David Spoon:

And so what you're going through right now, every one of you, myself included, you think it's easy, the same, to go through these things?

David Spoon:

It's not.

David Spoon:

I don't think it's easy for anybody.

David Spoon:

It wasn't easy for David.

David Spoon:

It wasn't easy for Moses.

David Spoon:

It wasn't easy for Abraham.

David Spoon:

Abraham has moments.

David Spoon:

We get into that.

David Spoon:

You can see he has a couple of.

David Spoon:

Not an argument, but it kind of takes a position.

David Spoon:

And even Jesus reading it today, you can't miss this.

David Spoon:

I just love this.

David Spoon:

And I want to make sure everybody hears me when I say this.

David Spoon:

I know this is directly from the Lord.

David Spoon:

For some of you, when Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane and he was praying, what he said to the lord in Mark 14, he said, you can do all things.

David Spoon:

Take this cup from me, nevertheless, not my will, but your will be done.

David Spoon:

You can do all things.

David Spoon:

That's the faith, right?

David Spoon:

The confidence, the request.

David Spoon:

Take this cup from me.

David Spoon:

The reverence, nevertheless, not what I will, but what you will be done.

David Spoon:

Your plan, not mine, right?

David Spoon:

People need that.

David Spoon:

Is she back on the line by chance?

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

Yes, she's back on the line.

David Spoon:

Okay, so let's bring her back through.

David Spoon:

Hello?

David Spoon:

Is that you, Rosalind?

Rosalind:

Hi, David.

Rosalind:

Yes, It's Roslyn.

Rosalind:

The devil was trying to keep me from listening, so he kicked me off the line.

Rosalind:

I didn't even touch the phone.

Rosalind:

You were just gone.

David Spoon:

I'm telling you, the enemy has been active in a lot of different areas like this lately, and I just keep looking at it going.

David Spoon:

Nope.

David Spoon:

We're just going to keep pushing through.

David Spoon:

We're going to keep pushing through.

David Spoon:

So I'm not going to repeat too much of it because it'll be on the show.

David Spoon:

But what was the last thing you remember hearing before you got disconnected?

David Spoon:

Do you remember anything that I shared?

David Spoon:

Are you there again?

Rosalind:

Put it on the spot.

Rosalind:

And I can't.

David Spoon:

That's okay.

David Spoon:

Don't worry.

Rosalind:

Saying about how it's like David.

David Spoon:

That's right.

Rosalind:

And how we're.

Rosalind:

It's.

Rosalind:

It's different experiences, but similar.

Rosalind:

Because just how God brought him through, he's bringing me through.

Rosalind:

And I can look back on that.

Rosalind:

And that is showing faith and that it's a testimony that I can share with others.

David Spoon:

Exactly.

David Spoon:

That's the big thing I want you to get, is you sharing that you will.

David Spoon:

Then this.

David Spoon:

This trial, this testing, this strengthening will become a testimony for you to share with others, to bless them.

David Spoon:

That's what it.

David Spoon:

You see what I'm saying?

David Spoon:

It becomes what it is now.

David Spoon:

It's raw, it's tough, it's difficult.

David Spoon:

When it'll be done, when the Lord's done getting you through this process, it will be a gem that you can offer to other people to bless them.

David Spoon:

That's just how the Lord is.

David Spoon:

He takes all these things in our lives and he makes them in such a way.

David Spoon:

We talked about that yesterday.

David Spoon:

All things working together for good, to them that love God, to them that are called according to his purpose.

David Spoon:

And he will use it to bring you further and to bless other people.

David Spoon:

That's what's awesome.

David Spoon:

We're all a partner in partnership with God.

David Spoon:

Isn't that cool?

Rosalind:

That is very cool, David.

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

Let's pray for Angelina and then I want to pray for you as well.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

And we're going to pray for the audience.

David Spoon:

Same thing.

David Spoon:

Okay, let's do it.

Rosalind:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Father, we come before you right now and first and foremost, I don't know how we could not say thank you.

David Spoon:

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.

David Spoon:

And 10,000 times over, because everything you do is so past us.

David Spoon:

You're so awesome in these things.

David Spoon:

And we just.

David Spoon:

Our appreciation.

David Spoon:

We can't even express the fullness of our appreciation.

David Spoon:

Your loving kindness is better than life.

David Spoon:

It's just awesome.

David Spoon:

We're going to lift up Angelina to you.

David Spoon:

And, Lord, I know she's going through the process.

David Spoon:

I feel the pain and the discomfort that Rosalind has, that Robert has, that their family has.

David Spoon:

But I also know that you have a name and One of those names is Jehovah, Rapha.

David Spoon:

what it teaches us in Exodus:

David Spoon:

And we are asking you to manifest your name in Angelina's life by the power of the Holy Spirit.

David Spoon:

And in the name of Jesus Christ, we're asking you to touch Angelina in her foot and to get that situation removed.

David Spoon:

Not just better, but gone.

David Spoon:

I know she's not young.

David Spoon:

It's not like she's going to turn into a 20 year old.

David Spoon:

But Lord, you still heal.

David Spoon:

And we're asking you with faith, because you can do anything.

David Spoon:

That you would bring that healing power into her body.

David Spoon:

Here's our faith, Lord.

David Spoon:

You can do anything.

David Spoon:

Here's our request.

David Spoon:

Heal Angelina in her foot and that blood flow in that situation.

David Spoon:

Here's our reverence, nevertheless, not our will, but your will be done so that you may be glorified in everything.

David Spoon:

So we pray that, Lord.

David Spoon:

And now we want to pray for Rosalind.

David Spoon:

We want to pray for Robert and for their family first, for Rosalind.

David Spoon:

That she would just have.

David Spoon:

That this experience would be a polishing of a beautiful stone.

David Spoon:

And that she would be able to see, even glimpses now, how powerful you are using this and will use this to bless other people.

David Spoon:

She's already blessed hundreds and hundreds of people without even knowing it.

David Spoon:

Just sharing.

David Spoon:

And we're asking you, Lord, just to shine up that stone so that she can share that with others.

David Spoon:

To be a blessing.

David Spoon:

Lord, we all need this prayer.

David Spoon:

That we would stand firm in our confidence in you.

David Spoon:

That you have in fact brought each one of us way past where we thought we would get to.

David Spoon:

Way past it.

David Spoon:

Lord, we're just lucky to be able to throw up a prayer and get into your word and read it.

David Spoon:

You've brought us all so far past.

David Spoon:

And what we're asking is that you would continue to move on each one of us, so we can reflect Jesus Christ more and more and honor and glorify your name.

David Spoon:

And give us a courage and a confidence and a peace that says, forward we go in your kingdom, advancing your kingdom and your kingship.

David Spoon:

Not just for Angelina, not just for Rosalind, not just for myself, but for every person that can hear my voice.

David Spoon:

Forward in your kingdom, remembering what you have done.

David Spoon:

Being confident for what you will do, because you are faithful to the end.

David Spoon:

That's what we pray, Father.

David Spoon:

We pray it in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior.

David Spoon:

Amen and amen.

Rosalind:

Amen.

Rosalind:

Thank you, David.

David Spoon:

You are welcome.

Rosalind:

Can I just do two quick things before I go?

David Spoon:

Yeah, sure.

David Spoon:

Absolutely.

David Spoon:

Fire away.

Rosalind:

I wanted to share two places.

Rosalind:

One, it's five years ago in this month that God brought me through the first cancer surgery.

Rosalind:

And I'm still kicking the second thing.

Rosalind:

And remember the last time I called and we threw in the water heater?

David Spoon:

Yes.

Rosalind:

So that day I was kind of a little nervous because it was December 26th.

Rosalind:

And a year ago on December 26th is when my mom ended up in the hospital the first time.

Rosalind:

And so I was thinking, okay, everything's going to be okay.

Rosalind:

She's, I mean, already been in the hospital, and she's at the rehab place.

Rosalind:

So she says I don't have to worry about that.

Rosalind:

And then that's when the water heater started beeping.

Rosalind:

And then they, they.

Rosalind:

They came out.

Rosalind:

And then there was there, like, well, this might cost this much.

Rosalind:

You know, all that kind of stuff.

Rosalind:

And I just prayed and prayed and prayed over it.

Rosalind:

And then the next Monday, they came and they said, no, we're not going to charge you.

Rosalind:

And they fixed it.

David Spoon:

Really?

Rosalind:

Yes.

David Spoon:

Nice.

Rosalind:

And there was like this gap where some pipe went into the roof, and so it was leaking, and that's what was triggering the water heater to think it was leaking.

Rosalind:

But it was like a drip down from the roof.

Rosalind:

So they just kind of plugged the hole, basically, right?

Rosalind:

And I kept telling them, can't you just plug the hole?

Rosalind:

So they did it, and they didn't charge.

Rosalind:

And then last week when we had the snow, you know, there was all the snow and the pressure and everything, and it was fine.

Rosalind:

And I told Robert, I said, look at that.

Rosalind:

How, how amazing God's timing is, because if we hadn't had the leak and all that stress on December 26, we probably would have been in a much bigger problem during the snowstorm last week, because, you know, somebody's pipes might have burst and all, you know how those kinds of problems can happen.

Rosalind:

And so they might have charged us.

Rosalind:

They might not have been able to get to us for days.

Rosalind:

We might have ended up with no water.

Rosalind:

You know, all sorts of other things happen, but because the problem happened sooner, it got taken care of.

Rosalind:

And so, you know, God resolved that problem that we prayed about.

Rosalind:

And the timing was.

Rosalind:

Was perfect because then look what happened with the snow.

David Spoon:

I mean, just think about that.

David Spoon:

Is that not just like.

David Spoon:

And let's go back to what Jeanette shared that.

David Spoon:

Proverbs 3, 5, and 6.

David Spoon:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart.

David Spoon:

Lean not on your own understanding and always acknowledge him.

David Spoon:

He direct your paths.

David Spoon:

Just think, God knows.

David Spoon:

No, no, I'M going to do it this way because this will happen this way.

David Spoon:

You guys don't know this.

David Spoon:

Stop telling me how to do it.

David Spoon:

I know how to do it.

David Spoon:

I'll take care of it.

David Spoon:

And then the Lord does it, and we're all, like, going, amazing, right?

David Spoon:

And he's up there going, well, not that amazing.

David Spoon:

I mean, I told you I was going to do it.

David Spoon:

That's just such a blessing.

David Spoon:

The Lord does that.

David Spoon:

How many times has the Lord done that in all of our lives, where we're thinking, it's this, it's this, it's this.

David Spoon:

And it's like, in heaven, they're up there going, no, we've got a plan.

David Spoon:

That's so cool.

David Spoon:

Excellent.

David Spoon:

Very, very good, Cher.

David Spoon:

Very, very good job.

David Spoon:

Let Angelina know we love her and Robert, too, and keep going and keep us posted and keep it.

David Spoon:

Keep us connected as to what's going on.

David Spoon:

Okay?

Rosalind:

Okay, I will.

Rosalind:

Thank you, guys.

Rosalind:

Thank you, David, very much.

David Spoon:

You got it.

David Spoon:

God bless.

Rosalind:

God bless you, too.

Rosalind:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

Bye.

David Spoon:

Bye.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

So, yeah, this is a regular show.

David Spoon:

If I told you yesterday, if I told you I studied, like, a couple of extra hours, sometimes I think the Lord says, I just want you studying because you're quiet and you don't talk as much or something.

David Spoon:

I swear, I think the Lord does that.

David Spoon:

What do you think?

David Spoon:

Is this a little bit different for us of late?

David Spoon:

Oh, my goodness.

David Spoon:

This is business as usual, right?

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

I mean, that's the fun part about the show, and it is the truth about it.

David Spoon:

Listen, these are really important things for us to listen to.

David Spoon:

And I know we're having fun doing it, but listen, we need to have this active in our Christian walk.

David Spoon:

We don't need to be walking around and doing churchianity.

David Spoon:

This is Christianity.

David Spoon:

And Christianity is centered on Christ and the study of Jesus.

David Spoon:

And look what Jesus is doing in all of our lives.

David Spoon:

Look what he's done for you.

David Spoon:

I think one of the difficulties does become that as consumers and we consume a lot of.

David Spoon:

I mean, we're a country of consumers.

David Spoon:

Let's least be honest about it, right?

David Spoon:

That when God does something miraculous, we are almost immediate to the.

David Spoon:

But what about this attitude?

David Spoon:

It's like we get through it, and then the next thing that comes up, it's like, here we go again.

David Spoon:

Instead of going, I'm going to see God faithful again, we're like, how are you going to do this?

David Spoon:

And it's more of a challenging doubting type of attitude than it is the affirmation of his faithfulness.

David Spoon:

And I'll just ask you this question.

David Spoon:

You can answer this because we're going to break after this.

David Spoon:

But tell me how or if God has ever been unfaithful to you.

David Spoon:

And you cannot define that.

David Spoon:

You cannot say he's been unfaithful.

David Spoon:

Because everything the Lord allows has a greater purpose.

David Spoon:

And just because we can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there.

David Spoon:

And we talked just a little bit.

David Spoon:

I thought about this as I was praying for Jay today and just how he really caught onto that scar.

David Spoon:

Sometimes those scars that we have help us know the Lord better.

David Spoon:

And sometimes the scars that Jesus has in his wrists explain how much he's for us and committed to us.

David Spoon:

We'll take a short break.

David Spoon:

Different show, but you gotta love it.

David Spoon:

Take a short break, then we'll come back.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

And that's no buny there.

David Spoon:

That's better.

David Spoon:

Cowpunchsites.com dad, what is the David Spoon experience?

David Spoon:

You say?

David Spoon:

I'll put it to you like this.

David Spoon:

Do you love a good joke?

David Spoon:

That's pretty bad.

David Spoon:

What do you call an animal that doesn't practice what it preaches?

David Spoon:

A hippocritopotamus.

David Spoon:

Come on.

David Spoon:

Do you love being able to ask questions, comments, or having someone to pray for you?

David Spoon:

Do you have an opinion, a comment, a thought or A question.

David Spoon:

We don't want it to die of loneliness.

David Spoon:

We want it to have a chance.

David Spoon:

And last but not least, do you love some trivia?

David Spoon:

All right, we got our trivia question.

David Spoon:

Who made clothes out of leaves that were sewed together?

David Spoon:

Somebody want to answer the trivia question?

David Spoon:

Okay, hold on, hold on.

David Spoon:

Here I go.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

David Spoon:

We're talking to Mary.

David Spoon:

This is Al.

David Spoon:

This is Brother Ace.

David Spoon:

This is Eric.

Samson:

This is Deborah.

David Spoon:

Now, if that doesn't make you curious, maybe you should tune in and check it out for yourself.

David Spoon:

Think of me as the big brother that won't go away.

David Spoon:

That's me.

David Spoon:

Tune in to the David Spoon experience weekdays at 1:30pm on 770 Kaam.

David Spoon:

What is the David Spoon Experience?

David Spoon:

Well, our amps are allowed.

David Spoon:

Cause you see us, normally an amp goes from 1 to 10, see?

David Spoon:

But ours, they go.

David Spoon:

They go to 11, see?

David Spoon:

So ours are one more.

David Spoon:

They're louder, see?

David Spoon:

So you turn them all the way to 11, all the way up, they're louder.

David Spoon:

I have said the best for the last because I know almost what I am doing, but not quite.

David Spoon:

The David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the truce station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's KA Amen 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Now, lest you think it's not gonna happen, we are still doing our DNA.

David Spoon:

So I'm just telling you right now, don't be like.

David Spoon:

But they don't get the DNA in wrong.

David Spoon:

And I'm going to get into why that's so important and so critical to all this.

David Spoon:

But we haven't done a few things that I do want to do.

David Spoon:

So let's do that.

David Spoon:

And it's been fun.

David Spoon:

I love shows like this because I think it's the Lord directing.

David Spoon:

Now, if I'm wrong, then the Lord knows I don't mean anything by that.

David Spoon:

But you can.

David Spoon:

I'm not trying to imply good, bad or indifferent.

David Spoon:

What I'm trying to say, though, is when it goes this way, I just know more people are getting touched.

David Spoon:

That is why I do the show.

David Spoon:

I'm just telling you right now.

David Spoon:

I know you guys, it was in radio.

David Spoon:

It must make a lot of money.

David Spoon:

It costs me money to do the show.

David Spoon:

You know what?

David Spoon:

I want to talk to me about certain things that it cost me.

David Spoon:

But here's what it there is such a joy and such a blessing when we're blessing one another.

David Spoon:

It's just active and real and powerful and you guys have been such a blessing for me.

David Spoon:

I know we always talk about this and I get a lot of people and they say, thanks for doing it and I appreciate that.

David Spoon:

Don't misunderstand.

David Spoon:

I'm being totally open here.

David Spoon:

But I want you to understand, this blesses me too when somebody sends me a praise report.

David Spoon:

We got a chance to pray for them and then it went well.

David Spoon:

It's not just a one time.

David Spoon:

It's like the ongoing thing and their situation changes or this changes.

David Spoon:

In fact, we're going to pray for Julianne and this is what happened.

David Spoon:

And I got to be careful how I share the story, but they had this one Gail that they've really wanted to use as a stay angel, which is somebody that would help them in the home.

David Spoon:

And the company that runs this, that coordinates this, said, no, no, no.

David Spoon:

And Julianne got really upset about it and she sent us a text.

David Spoon:

And so I sent a text out to a couple people that pray a lot and I just said, hey.

David Spoon:

I said, I just believe the Lord's gonna change this because he does change circumstances.

David Spoon:

It only takes a moment to.

David Spoon:

For a miracle to appear.

David Spoon:

I got a text from her today saying the company's rethinking it.

David Spoon:

They're sounding very positive, but they won't give us a decision until tomorrow.

David Spoon:

We're going to pray about it.

David Spoon:

And if that turns around, I believe it's entirely because of prayer.

David Spoon:

There's no coincidence there.

David Spoon:

The company said no, flat out, close the door.

David Spoon:

But it's whether the Lord closes the door or not, not whether a company does or a person does or a government does or anything else.

David Spoon:

And listen, I'm very excited about potential things that be coming and so on and so forth.

David Spoon:

I'm like everybody else, a little, somewhat optimistic.

David Spoon:

I'm just very cautious because I don't think confidence in men is a good idea.

David Spoon:

I think confidence in God is a good idea.

David Spoon:

And so I think we put it there and we leave it there and we entrust him there in that way with it.

David Spoon:

So we'll get to that in a little bit.

David Spoon:

So I'll be praying for her.

David Spoon:

And then if you've got something you need prayer for, I'm going to give you that chance.

David Spoon:

We're going to do our trivia and then I'm going to send you to the website because we need to.

David Spoon:

But first we're going to do trivia and then we'll get our DNA in.

David Spoon:

We're just trying to get all this stuff in.

David Spoon:

So I'm just Doing my best.

David Spoon:

So just wing it with me.

David Spoon:

Is that a good way to say that?

David Spoon:

Wing it with me?

David Spoon:

I think that's a great way to.

David Spoon:

You're just going to have to hang on there with me and stand in there with me.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Now we do have somebody calling in and that could change the direction yet again because I'm not smart enough.

David Spoon:

But I just don't want you to think I didn't prepare for a lesson because that would not be true.

David Spoon:

I'm just leaving that right there.

David Spoon:

Do we have somebody that wants to reach out to us in some capacity or.

David Spoon:

Yes, we do.

David Spoon:

Okay, let's do that first because we have no idea where it's going.

David Spoon:

So let's just do that first.

David Spoon:

Go ahead and send them through.

David Spoon:

Knock knock, this is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Samson:

Hey David, it's Samson.

David Spoon:

Hey, Samson, what's happening?

David Spoon:

Hey.

Samson:

I'm going to give you the answer of your trivia question because you already shared that trivia with me.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

I always want to know, do you listen to the show before you call in or do you just call in and hope that it's.

David Spoon:

Which way do you do it?

Samson:

Well, actually, because I don't know if I'll get a chance.

Samson:

So right now I have a chance.

Samson:

So I gonna take that advantage of that opportunity that God provided me to be with my brother and sister in Christ through David Spoon experience.

Samson:

As you were sharing about our sister and that decision, I felt in my spirit that God is, is a dedicated God and who gonna do it for her regardless of wherever that answer gonna come, either through that company or through something else.

Samson:

So I gonna keep praying for our sister that God will intervene that situation and whatever is the best for her that should come.

David Spoon:

In Jesus name, in Jesus name.

David Spoon:

Here's what I want you to do.

David Spoon:

I want you to pray.

David Spoon:

So this is for my daughter we're talking about, the one that I was sharing about.

David Spoon:

So.

David Spoon:

Okay, I want you to pray for Julianne and Jared with the audience.

David Spoon:

I want you to pray, I want you to lead the prayer that God will grant them the faith.

David Spoon:

It will be God's will, but that God would grant them favor.

Samson:

Yes.

David Spoon:

Can you lead that prayer?

Samson:

Yes, I could do right now.

David Spoon:

Let's do it.

Samson:

Thank you Jesus that you're awesome.

Samson:

God and you are the same yesterday, today and forever.

Samson:

And nothing is too difficult for you to do for your children because you're a good God who said that, that you will never leave us nor forsake us.

Samson:

And Lord, we bring this very particular situation before your throne of grace.

Samson:

And according to First Peter 5, 7, we give this care of ours into your hand because we know that you care for us, Lord.

Samson:

Thank you Lord, that you are a faithful God and you are our good shepherd.

Samson:

So if good shepherd is with us, we will be not in any want.

Samson:

So Lord, we trust you for the best outcome beyond our imagination, Lord.

Samson:

So Lord, we ask our favor and your grace and your mercy on this whole situation.

Samson:

And we glorify you Lord, because we know there is the best outcome is coming on our ways.

Samson:

In the mighty name of Yeshua Hamashiach, I say this prayer.

Samson:

Amen and amen.

David Spoon:

Amen and amen.

David Spoon:

In the name of Yeshua Hamashiach, I agree.

David Spoon:

Excellent job, brother.

David Spoon:

Excellent.

David Spoon:

Very, very, very strong.

David Spoon:

Very helpful to this.

David Spoon:

You did a great job.

Samson:

Thank you brother.

Samson:

You are a blessing and encouragement to me and I believe thousands and thousands of people.

David Spoon:

Well, I appreciate that.

David Spoon:

I know that the Lord, I still think he keeps me busy, so I will leave him alone.

David Spoon:

If you had a Jewish mother, you'd really get that.

Samson:

Yeah, that'.

David Spoon:

Excellent job, excellent phone call.

David Spoon:

God bless you, brother.

David Spoon:

Thank you so much.

Samson:

Hey, where's my trivia question?

David Spoon:

Oh, you need a trivia question?

David Spoon:

All right, I'll give you a trivia question.

Samson:

Okay, now let's give it to somebody else.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

God bless, brother.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

Excellent job by Samson.

David Spoon:

For the next trivia question, I'm getting ready to share that with you.

David Spoon:

Then we're going to send you to the website, then we're going to do our DNA, and who knows what's going to happen after that.

David Spoon:

I don't even care.

David Spoon:

I don't care.

David Spoon:

There we go.

David Spoon:

If you guys don't get this though, I might have to take my ball and go home.

David Spoon:

Where did Jesus turn the water into wine at a wedding festival?

David Spoon:

Where was that According to John 2:1 10, was that Bethany, Nazareth, Cana or Gethsemane?

David Spoon:

Where did Jesus turn water into wine?

David Spoon:

His first miracle at a wedding festival.

David Spoon:

According to the Gospel of John, chapter two, verse one through ten.

David Spoon:

Was that Bethany, Nazareth, Cana or Gethsemane?

David Spoon:

If you think you know, you can call in.

David Spoon:

That's what's been going on.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

I'm simply going to say if you have a capacity to give, please do so.

David Spoon:

That would be super duper.

David Spoon:

Duper.

David Spoon:

Duper.

David Spoon:

Cool.

David Spoon:

The passage we use or using for Wednesdays is Luke 6:38.

David Spoon:

Give and it will be given to you.

David Spoon:

Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap for the measure you use.

David Spoon:

It will be measured back to you.

David Spoon:

That's on God's end, which is really important to understand.

David Spoon:

That's a commitment from him.

David Spoon:

If you give, we appreciate that.

David Spoon:

But if you don't give to us, that's totally.

David Spoon:

Still be a giver, still be a person that gives.

David Spoon:

And if you haven't given to your home church, you ought to, because that's where home is.

David Spoon:

So you need to take care of that.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

That's just right.

David Spoon:

All right, Check out the stuff on the website@hemustincrease.org Prayer request hemostincrease.org Praise report.

David Spoon:

Hemustincrease.org Looking to give to this ministry.

David Spoon:

Hemustincrease.org Confused by what's happening right now.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org he must increase.org Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't.

David Spoon:

Almond Joy's got nuts.

David Spoon:

Mounds don't.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

Almond Joy has nuts.

David Spoon:

Mounds, don't.

David Spoon:

You've eaten both?

David Spoon:

Have you had an Almond Joy and a Mounds, Right.

David Spoon:

Have you had nut or have you?

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Which do you like more?

David Spoon:

Almond Joy?

David Spoon:

Yeah, me too.

David Spoon:

Great thinking there.

David Spoon:

That's great thinking, Jacob.

David Spoon:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

You just survive the show sometimes, don't you?

David Spoon:

Just say, whatever's happening, we don't know.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Where did Jesus turn the water into wine?

David Spoon:

His first miracle?

David Spoon:

The wedding festival, according to John 2:1 10.

David Spoon:

Was it Bethany, Nazareth, Cana or Gethsemane?

David Spoon:

If you think you know, you can reach out to us.

David Spoon:

I'm going to do the DNA next, regardless.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Time for our DNA.

David Spoon:

D stands for Draw closer to the Lord daily, every day.

David Spoon:

And what's amazing is Sergio's first question that happened in the first two minutes of the show.

David Spoon:

He's like, well, what do you do?

David Spoon:

And then when I was taking people to Hebrews 10, 19, 23, if I didn't explain it more carefully, I want you to understand that what I do personally, when I'm just not in the right Place in the wrong valley, so to speak.

David Spoon:

And I will say this mountaintops.

David Spoon:

Going up a mountain uses a different set of muscles than going down a mountain.

David Spoon:

But you need all those muscles being used, which is why we kind of go through that up and down.

David Spoon:

That part's okay.

David Spoon:

Here's what I want you to know, though.

David Spoon:

According to that, Hebrews 10, 19, 23, Jesus gives us access by his blood into the presence of God.

David Spoon:

3, 6, 5, 2, 4, 7.

David Spoon:

And when we blow it, the place to go is not to run and hide, but to go to God.

David Spoon:

That's the place you go.

David Spoon:

And you might think, well, do I have to cite these scriptures or do I have to.

David Spoon:

No, go to God.

David Spoon:

You might go to the Lord in a moment of prayer, you might open up the word of God.

David Spoon:

You might do both.

David Spoon:

You should do both.

David Spoon:

And whatever that is, go to the Lord.

David Spoon:

And when we draw closer to the Lord, we are creating like the core of our strength.

David Spoon:

You know, when they talk about working out, I work out a lot.

David Spoon:

I mean, I'm just telling you.

David Spoon:

I mean, I've lost a lot of weight.

David Spoon:

I'm still pretty active.

David Spoon:

I'm going to the gym maybe four or five times a week.

David Spoon:

I do one hour cardios.

David Spoon:

I mean, I'm really into it, right, Because I trying to keep things right in line.

David Spoon:

Here's the thing.

David Spoon:

The thing is you still have to work your core for all the other things to work out properly, for you to be able to lift weights and to do the different things.

David Spoon:

Well, for us, the core is that communion with the Lord.

David Spoon:

It's that time with him, it's that Bible time.

David Spoon:

Don't chore it out.

David Spoon:

Don't like.

David Spoon:

Ugh.

David Spoon:

Now, if you're having a hard time with a particular Bible version, here's something you probably won't hear a lot on the radio.

David Spoon:

And I could care less because I've been doing this for a long, long time.

David Spoon:

Try a different Bible version.

David Spoon:

Just stick with the basics.

David Spoon:

But I mean, try.

David Spoon:

If you need a lighter one, use the nlt.

David Spoon:

If you need a deeper one, use the esv.

David Spoon:

If you need a more profound and in depth and challenging one, use the King James, Use the new King James, Use the Christian Standard Bible, use the Holman Standard Bible, use the amplified.

David Spoon:

I don't care, use the niv, use any of them.

David Spoon:

Just switch it around because you'll find out there's a freshness in how the word is approached.

David Spoon:

And that's a healthy thing, not a bad thing.

David Spoon:

And when people go, no, it can Only be this one version.

David Spoon:

They know nothing of bibliology.

David Spoon:

They just act like they do.

David Spoon:

It's like, no, you know what?

David Spoon:

You read every one of those versions and then come back and tell me.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

That's what I'd say.

David Spoon:

So D draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because that's your core.

David Spoon:

That's my core.

David Spoon:

N.

David Spoon:

Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

You can't be ashamed if you don't know it.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

But that's the bad things.

David Spoon:

You know what I'm saying?

David Spoon:

You need to know it.

David Spoon:

I need to know it.

David Spoon:

That's why I like Sergio.

David Spoon:

He loves that bfn.

David Spoon:

Big fat nose in the book.

David Spoon:

Get in the book.

David Spoon:

God knows how to write a book.

David Spoon:

He created the universe.

David Spoon:

He can write a book.

David Spoon:

Look, don't be ashamed of what God has to say, even if you don't understand everything.

David Spoon:

I've talked To, I think, four of the top 10 living theologians, they don't understand everything, but they know the Lord.

David Spoon:

And when the right thing needs to come forward, the Lord always seems to provide it.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

Never be ashamed of what Jesus had to say.

David Spoon:

Only the godless and satanically influenced people would try to shame you over the word of God.

David Spoon:

Here's how you don't let it happen.

David Spoon:

Don't.

David Spoon:

That's a big one.

David Spoon:

And so D, draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

And never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

A.

David Spoon:

Always be ready to serve.

David Spoon:

Always ready to serve.

David Spoon:

When you turn this off, because you're turning it off in 10 minutes or whatever.

David Spoon:

Are you ready?

David Spoon:

Before you turn it off right now, are you ready?

David Spoon:

That's what I'm asking you.

David Spoon:

Are you ready?

David Spoon:

You ought to be.

David Spoon:

That's what the Lord wants of us.

David Spoon:

Okay, Now I'm going to answer the trivia question and go into this other teaching, because I want to.

David Spoon:

It's just not going the normal route that I would think it would go.

David Spoon:

We are probably going to do a history, but we'll see how that goes yet.

David Spoon:

But I'm going to answer this trivia question and then I want to go into this small teaching.

David Spoon:

Here's the trivia question.

David Spoon:

Where did Jesus turn water into wine?

David Spoon:

His first miracle at the wedding festival, According to John 2:1 10, was that Bethany, Nazareth, Cana or Gethsemane.

David Spoon:

And of course, that's Cana of Galilee, where he turned the water into wine, which tells you that he can take anything we have and make it something altogether different and have it be a blessing.

David Spoon:

He can take whatever you have.

David Spoon:

Can you get water out of a rock?

David Spoon:

Yes, he can.

David Spoon:

That's your answer.

David Spoon:

Can you get blood out of a flower?

David Spoon:

Yes, that's your answer.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

He's omniscient and he's all powerful.

David Spoon:

So you listen to that powerful thing.

David Spoon:

All right, I want to read this real quickly.

David Spoon:

I've just decided I'm going to share this because this is a really cool portion.

David Spoon:

This is at the end of Luke.

David Spoon:

So unless somebody calls in, we're just going to go through this for a little bit.

David Spoon:

This is at the end of Luke.

David Spoon:

This is at the resurrection at the back end of the Gospel of Luke.

David Spoon:

And I've had this passage open for several months and haven't shared it.

David Spoon:

Okay, here's what the passage says.

David Spoon:

This is the two guys that he was walking with on the road to Emmaus.

David Spoon:

And he's like, did they not say verse 32 of Luke 24?

David Spoon:

And they said to one another, did not our heart burn within us while he talked with us on the road and while he opened the Scriptures to us?

David Spoon:

So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem and found the 11 who were with them gathered together saying, the Lord has risen indeed and has appeared to Simon.

David Spoon:

Oh, Peter got a visit.

David Spoon:

Yay.

David Spoon:

And they told them about these things, what had happened, and how he had made himself known on the road by the breaking of bread, which I always find fascinating.

David Spoon:

The breaking of bread.

David Spoon:

This is not.

David Spoon:

In this case, this was not communion.

David Spoon:

This was actually fellowship.

David Spoon:

Technically, breaking of bread is eating together.

David Spoon:

That's what they were doing.

David Spoon:

While they were breaking bread, Jesus manifested.

David Spoon:

It's amazing to understand from a theological teach that when we connect to each other and we break bread together and there's that connection, Jesus shows up.

David Spoon:

It's just really cool.

David Spoon:

You gotta love that.

David Spoon:

But that's not what I want to talk about.

David Spoon:

That's just a cool thing.

David Spoon:

Verse 36.

David Spoon:

Now, they said these.

David Spoon:

As they said these things, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them and said to them, peace to you.

David Spoon:

So we're just now said, you know, when you get together and you fellowship and you break bread, and then Jesus shows up, what's the next thing that happens in the scripture?

David Spoon:

The very next thing, as they're talking with one another and fellowshipping with one another, who shows up?

David Spoon:

Jesus.

David Spoon:

And he shows up and he's in the midst, he's in the middle of them.

David Spoon:

And what does he say?

David Spoon:

Peace to you.

David Spoon:

And you're thinking, why does he say peace?

David Spoon:

Let's go back to each thing that we've covered in this entire show, Sergio going through that difficult moment.

David Spoon:

The.

David Spoon:

The backsliding, the up, the down, the struggle.

David Spoon:

Then we talk about Rozin going through her own thing and needing to lean on those things that have happened in her past.

David Spoon:

Then when you think about how all of these things are defining and being defined, and Samson praying and believing that the Lord gave him something to share, saying, God is going to work this out.

David Spoon:

This is going to be a blessing.

David Spoon:

And now you have this part where Jesus shows up and he says, peace to you.

David Spoon:

And one of the things we need to recognize is when the Lord shows up, more than not, he tells them, peace to you.

David Spoon:

Don't be afraid.

David Spoon:

Because we struggle to hold the peace, and we easily give way to fear.

David Spoon:

And so the first thing the Lord does is he brings a comfort to us.

David Spoon:

He's like, okay, calm down.

David Spoon:

Now, I don't think the Lord says, calm down, Sparky, to everybody, but sometimes I think he says it to me, like, calm down, Sparky, like, I'm a spark plug.

David Spoon:

Just like.

David Spoon:

And so he says, peace, verse 37.

David Spoon:

But they were terrified and frightened and supposed they had seen a spirit.

David Spoon:

This can't be the Lord.

David Spoon:

This is just too weird.

David Spoon:

Wait, wait, wait.

David Spoon:

Verse 38.

David Spoon:

And this is what I want to talk about.

David Spoon:

He said to them, why are you troubled?

David Spoon:

Why do doubts arise in your hearts?

David Spoon:

That phrase right there, we could use that for Sergio.

David Spoon:

We can use that with Rosalind.

David Spoon:

We can use that with Samson.

David Spoon:

We can use that in using Jeannette's Proverbs 3, 5, 6 that she shared.

David Spoon:

Listen, why are you troubled?

David Spoon:

The word troubled in the Greek is to unsettle, to stir up, to agitate, to disturb, to trouble.

David Spoon:

Why are we those ways?

David Spoon:

And why do doubts arise in our hearts?

David Spoon:

Jesus always shows up.

David Spoon:

He always helps us.

David Spoon:

He never fails us.

David Spoon:

And so he says, peace.

David Spoon:

And they're like.

David Spoon:

And he's like, why are you troubled?

David Spoon:

Why are you agitated?

David Spoon:

Why are you so disturbed?

David Spoon:

Why are you so unsettled?

David Spoon:

Stop.

David Spoon:

And why are doubts arising in your hearts?

David Spoon:

Has he not proven Himself faithful?

David Spoon:

Has he not gotten you through a thousand and one things?

David Spoon:

You know he has.

David Spoon:

Most of you have had the Lord save your life.

David Spoon:

I had the Lord save my life directly.

David Spoon:

I mean, directly.

David Spoon:

Actually, more than once.

David Spoon:

Actually, three times.

David Spoon:

But that's not the point.

David Spoon:

I'm trying to say is he's never failed.

David Spoon:

He'll never fail.

David Spoon:

And when you're going through that, you have to understand, he knows.

David Spoon:

And he says to you.

David Spoon:

And he says to me, and he says to each one of us.

David Spoon:

Peace.

David Spoon:

Why are you troubled?

David Spoon:

I have you covered.

David Spoon:

Don't let those doubts arise in your hearts.

David Spoon:

Don't let it happen.

David Spoon:

We try to say, Dave, that we can actually have faith instead of doubt.

David Spoon:

I did not say that.

David Spoon:

Jesus said that.

David Spoon:

I didn't write the book.

David Spoon:

I can just read it.

David Spoon:

We don't have to let the doubts pop up.

David Spoon:

We don't have to.

David Spoon:

We're not required.

David Spoon:

In fact, when we access the Lord through that realm of faith, the peace that passes all understanding keeps our hearts, which is our feelings and our mind, which is our thinking.

David Spoon:

That's what we want.

David Spoon:

We want the peace that passes all understanding.

David Spoon:

And guess what Jesus is saying to you and to me?

David Spoon:

Peace.

David Spoon:

I got it.

David Spoon:

I'm the prince of peace.

David Spoon:

You need help?

David Spoon:

Here I am.

David Spoon:

I've never failed you.

David Spoon:

I never will.

David Spoon:

I love you.

David Spoon:

I'm with you forever.

David Spoon:

I mean, praise the Lord.

David Spoon:

How can we see anything but praise the Lord?

David Spoon:

He's so good to us, isn't he?

David Spoon:

We're not worthy of it, but we should be very thankful for it.

David Spoon:

All right, folks, you have been listening to the David Spoon experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth.

David Spoon:

Stationary in Texas.

David Spoon:

22 and a half hour break.

David Spoon:

Then we'll come back more insanity with Spoonanity and we'll see what happens then.

David Spoon:

Who knows when a broken heart will.

David Spoon:

Man, broken hearts don't die.

David Spoon:

They just grow.

David Spoon:

Just when I think I've reached the end, I pray for him in my soul.

David Spoon:

That is why I call on you, my friend, the one and only son.
