Shownotes

About the Show:

On this episode of the podcast, we sit down with Erin Tarver, Executive Director of BrightHaven Christian Learning Center. Erin has a passion for children and it shows. We learned all about her “Why,” for starting BrightHaven and why she opened up her facility in Springdale. In addition to running the show at BrightHaven, Erin is also an Early Childhood Development trainer and she takes her team through twice the recommended continuing education requirements called for by the state of Arkansas.

BrightHaven is a 3-Star Early Childcare Facility and Erin is very proud of the efforts undertaken to maintain this level of quality and service not only to the parents and staff but most importantly to the Children.

Erin walked us through the challenges faced by most Early Childcare providers in the State and she outlines what BrightHaven is doing to mitigate these issues.  This episode was filled with a ton of “quotables,” from Erin but the one that stands out the most was when we started talking about her own children and the differences she sees in the youngest one who went through a strong early childhood education program starting at five months old versus her 14-year-old who started at BrightHaven in his last year of Pre School.

“Brain research says that a child can grow up in a household filled with poverty. But, if they have strong relationships with their primary caregivers, these children can go on to achieve the highest levels of education and can be the thing that turns their family around. And so that is built on positive relationships with their primary caregivers.”

That is just the tip of the iceberg. Erin shared so many great quotes and statistics about early childhood care and development. You don’t want to miss this episode.

Erin works hard but also likes to have fun too. She enjoys Black Apple Crossing, MJ’s Pizza in Springdale, and The Mother Ship in Springdale, to name a few.
