Same Opinion – Daily Wisdom

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1766 of our trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. Proverbs 16:16 says, "How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver!"  If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget: Today’s quote is from Unknown, and it is, "A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still."

Same Opinion

This quote is quite well known, but is more truthful today than at any point in past history. With the self-appointment experts that troll social media and populate most of the 24/7 newscast, the fight for people's attention is at a fever pitch. We all like to pontificate on our knowledge and so-called wisdom, but the fact is very few of us are experts or understand that which we so vehemently defend. We will not convince others that our opinions are correct by arguing and fighting with them. We will not convince others by separating from them or trying to get them canceled. Truth and wisdom are in such short supply today that it has become the leading critical issue. It isn't easy to believe anything we are told from our politicians, the news media, and most social media postings. Deep fakes and outright lies flood most of what we consume as information today. It is not convincing anyone, but makes us much more skeptical of anything that may have some truth embedded within it. We need to turn back to the only source of truth: God and the precepts found in His Word. God’s Word is the one truth we can believe in, and it will change our opinions, hearts, and minds. 1 Corinthians 2:13-16 When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.  Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others.  For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ. As you ponder this nugget of wisdom for yourself, please encourage your friends and family to join us and then come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.
