In this episode, we have a special guest, Torey Matajcich, our first lady guest. We dive into her journey as an ATV racer and her passion for the sport. Torey's racing career began at a young age when her grandfather gifted her a small quad at the age of 4. They would often venture out into the desert together for thrilling rides. At 6 years old, Torey's family went camping in Flagstaff, Arizona, near the cinders. Coincidentally, a Whiplash Racing off-road race was taking place that weekend, and her parents decided to enter her into it. Although her quad wasn't as competitive as the other kids', Torey's love for racing ignited. Eager to improve, her parents took her to another race organized by Whiplash, solidifying her determination to pursue ATV racing.
In the 2019 WORCS opener, where she dominated the Women's A ATV class, securing the first-place victory while Donna Ellsworth finished second. Not only did Torey excel in the women's class, but she also participated in the Expert class during the 2019 AZOP Rowley White RV Series, specifically in round 6. Racing under the number #319, Torey showcased her skills and emerged victorious. Currently, Torey holds the prestigious title of the 2019 WORCS Woman's Champion, showcasing her remarkable talent and dedication to the sport.
