Speaker:

In Matthew 28:19, "Go ye into the whole world," he said, "and preach the gospel to every creature." And guess what? The apostles fulfilled the command of Christ by their oral preaching. That's called the Rama, the oral proclamation of the word. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Hello family. My name is Jesse Romero. Have you ever wondered how the New Testament was made? Boy, there's an old graph I have here. It's called the making of the New Testament. One of

Speaker:

those charts that's about 50 years old. The making of the New Testament, the Catholic Church, mother of the Bible. Christ established only one church. Was it your church? Nope. It was the Catholic Church. There's also a book I read many years ago. It's called Where We Got the Bible. This uh it appeared in 1911. It's uh put out by 10. It's written by Henry Graham. So, who was Henry Graham? Well, he was a uh a former Calvinist minister. He was drawn to the Catholic faith and eventually became a Catholic

Speaker:

bishop. And Graham refuts charges that the Catholic Church has somehow opposed the sacred scripture. So, if you love the word of God, you owe it to yourself to discover the Bible's history and the church's important role in preserving and promoting sacred scripture. So this book where we got the Bible. Let me give you a quick synopsis of specifically the making of the New Testament. So the making of the New Testament. The Catholic Church is the mother of the Bible. The life of Christ from uh

Speaker:

AD1 to about AD.33. That was the public ministry of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Christ founded the Catholic Church in 33 AD. And remember this, here's something important. The Catholic Church existed before the New Testament. It was Christ's preaching for years, for at least nine years according to this graph before a word of the New Testament was written and for 67 years before it was completed. The church is not the child of the Bible but its mother. And Christ founded the Catholic

Speaker:

Church. And I wrote a book. It's called One Lord, One Faith, One Church, where I prove that very thesis that Jesus Christ started the Catholic Church. The book is called One Lord, One Faith, One Church. You can purchase it by going to jesseomero.com. So around AD42 Matthew's gospel was written. About AD52 Mark's gospel was written. About 63 AD Luke's gospel was written. And about 97 AD John's gospel was written. This is according to the data in this chart. So the New Testament was not completed

Speaker:

until the end of the first century. Think about that. And the epistles were written between 53 AD and 108 and 100 AD. But the New Testament was not yet formed. So how did it develop? In 393 AD at the council of Hippo, the church started formulating the cannon of the New Testament. And again in 397 at the council of Carthage, the Catholic Church determined which books were inspired and which books composed the New Testament, which books were frauds and forgeries. So the canon or the table of contents

Speaker:

was first fixed by the council of Hippo in 393 and later confirmed by the council of Carthage in 397. And yet the New Testament that was determined by the Catholic Church and there's another council also the council of Rome in 382 AD that also gave us the canonical list of books which are the 27 books of the New Testament which all Protestants accept and even the cults like the Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses and these pseudochristian churches they accept as well. Right around 1450, a Catholic, a lay

Speaker:

Catholic invented the printing press. So, printing was invented. And guess what? The first book that was printed was in 1450. 626 Catholic editions were printed in all languages. There were 17 Catholic editions printed already in Germany before Luther's translation and nine editions before Luther was even born were printed in Germany. Luther's translation didn't come out till 1522. In 1582, the Catholic Church gave us the modern translation. It's called the Dewey Rees. It's an English translation. The Deweys,

Speaker:

that's the official Catholic edition which again was it was established and published in 1582. The King James Bible which is the oldest Protestant Bible there is that was published in 1611. And by the way, King James, in case you didn't know it, there's a book you can look it up on Amazon. Uh they're basically called the homoerotic letters of King James I. King James I the whose name is put in the King James Bible. He was a sexual degenerate. I'm just saying I don't know about you but if if Bill

Speaker:

Clinton would have said, "Hey, I want a Bible with my name on it, the Bill Clinton Bible. Bill Clinton is a sexually degenerate." I certainly wouldn't have the Bill Clinton Bible. Just let I'm telling you. Just telling you King James I the first was a sexual degenerate. You can look this up by English authors who write books on the homoerotic letters that he had. He had many male lovers as he was married. So in uh 1941 we have what's called the revised Catholic edition, the RSV.

Speaker:

And uh but going back to the King James, think about this. The King James Bible is the first Protestant Bible in 1611. Nearly 16 centuries after Christ, the Protestants come up with a Bible based on the Catholic books. By the way, because even the original King James had the original seven books that they contest, King James, the King James Bible just put those seven contested books in the back after the book of Revelation, and they called it the apocryphal books, but they did not remove them. But in 1941,

Speaker:

Catholic scholars in the USA, they brought out the revised standard edition. That's the one I generally use. I use all the Catholic Bibles, New American, the Dewey Rees, and the the RSV. I use all of them. So, the making of the New Testament, the Catholic Church is the mother of the Bible. Okay. The chart which is going to be posted on this video. It presents an outline form the essential historical facts about the origin and the formation of the New Testament in showing how it came into being. The chart shows how it

Speaker:

owes its existence to the Catholic Church, the mother of the Bible. And the chart likewise brings out into clear relief the following important facts. that number one, the New Testament was written it in its entirety by Catholics. Number two, St. Peter, the first pope of the Catholic Church, is the author of two books of its epistles in the New Testament. Number three, the Catholic Church determined the canon or the list of books to constitute the New Testament or which constitutes the New Testament.

Speaker:

Number four, the Catholic Church existed before the New Testament. Number number five, the declaration of the Catholic Church that the books of the New Testament are all inspired by God constitutes the sole authority for the universal belief of both Catholics and Protestants in their inspired character. And number six, the Catholic Church is the mother of the New Testament. What about the determination of the canon of the New Testament? If Holy Mother Church had not scrutinized carefully the writings of

Speaker:

her children, rejecting some and approving others as worthy of inclusion in the canon of the New Testament, there would be no New Testament today. If Holy Mother Church had not declared the books composing the New Testament to be the inspired word of God, we would not know what is the word of God. The only authority which non-atholics have for the inspiration of the scriptures is the authority of the Catholic Church. If the latter be rejected, there remains no logical grounds for retention of the cardinal tenant of all

Speaker:

Protestants of the inspired character of scripture. They don't know that apart from the authority of the Catholic Church who gave us these books. With the possible exception of St. John, none of the apostles ever saw all the writings which now make up the New Testament. If the Catholic Church did not preserve the Bible, shielding it from the attacks of the barbarians, the Muslims, the communists, copying it in her monasteries throughout the long centuries before the art of printing was invented.

Speaker:

The modern world would be without a Bible. The church existed before the Bible. That's the point I'm making. And this chart shows that the Catholic Church founded by Jesus Christ was teaching and preaching the word of God for nine years before a word of the New Testament was written and for 67 years before it was completed. The truths enunciated by her divine founder were deep in her heart and fresh in her memory. Holy mother church was busily engaged in imparting these orally to mankind. We call that oral tradition.

Speaker:

Remember Christ wrote nothing. Neither did he command the apostles to write anything. But he did commission them to teach the doctrines to all mankind. In Matthew 28:19, "Go ye into the whole world," he said, "and preach the gospel to every creature." And guess what? The apostles fulfilled the command of Christ by their oral preaching. That's called the Rama. the oral proclamation of the word. Three of the 12, Peter, Matthew, and John, supplemented their teaching by writing. And it's well to remember,

Speaker:

however, that the church was a going concern, a functioning institution, teaching, preaching, administering the sacraments, saving souls before the New Testament saw the light of day. The church is the mother of the Bible. The church is not the child of the Bible as many non-atholics imagine, but its mother. The church deres neither her existence nor her teaching authority from the New Testament. She had both before the New Testament was born. She secured her being her teaching, her authority directly from Jesus Christ,

Speaker:

the bridegroom. The church is the bride, not a girlfriend, not a concubine. Jesus doesn't have 30,000 concubines or 30,000 brides. He has one bride. If all the books of the Bible and all the copies thereof were blotted out, the church would still be in possession of all the truths of Christ and would still continue and could still continue to preach them as she did before a single word of the New Testament was written. For those truths are deep in her mind, her heart, in her memory, in her lurggical and sacramental life, in her

Speaker:

traditions, written and unwritten, which go directly back to the Lord Jesus Christ himself. And finally, who's the authorized interpreter of the Bible? Well, the church that gave us the Bible and the church that was established by Jesus Christ functions as the Supreme Court functions as that the final court of arbitration. Jesus says to the apostles, "Whoever hears you hears me." And by extension, whoever hears one of the successors of the apostles as they speak in uni in unison with the bishop

Speaker:

of Rome, the magisterium, we hear the voice of Christ. The Catholic Church has brought the Bible into being. The Catholic Church reverences the Bible. The Catholic Church loves it as a mother loves her child. The church declares it to be the inspired word of God. She urges all to read it with faith and reverence. The church interprets it all for mankind with the power and authority bestowed upon her by her divine founder when she when he said our Lord. All power is given to me in heaven and on earth. Go

Speaker:

therefore teach all nations teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you all the days, even to the end of time. Close quote. As the founding fathers of our country established the Supreme Court to interpret with authority the Constitution for all our citizens, so Jesus Christ established the Catholic Church to interpret with infallible authority all his teachings, both oral and written for all mankind. Our Lord tells the apostles, "He that hears you hears me."

Speaker:

That's what Christ said of his church. And he who does not hear me despises me, and he that despises me despises him who sent me. Family, my fellow Catholics and non-atholics, reverence and love the Holy Bible as the Catholic Church does, and read it every day. It will bring you closer to God in knowledge, in service, and in love. The proper place to understand the Holy Bible is in the sacred liturgy. The Holy Bible was written for and within the context of the sacred liturgy. That's where it's understood.

Speaker:

And from beginning to end, the entire holy mass is a biblical prayer. Catholics, take heed to the words of St. Jerome. Ignorance of scripture is ignorance of Christ. Let's make it a daily devotion to read our Bibles every day. How simple. Starting today, make the sign of the cross. Say, "Speak Lord, your servant is listening." And read the daily mass readings. first reading the responsorial psalm and today's gospel and ask the Lord Lord teach me Lord Lord I surrender myself to

Speaker:

you teach me and take care of everything in the name of the father son and of the holy spirit amen go bless you family keep the faith and keep tuning here on the Jesse Romero show I'm going to be at all the platforms MS let people know about this new show.
