The Around the House podcast presents a compelling dialogue with Dane Patton from Grabo Power Tools, focusing on their recent collaboration with DeWalt. This partnership marks a significant development for Grabo, as it transitions into the spotlight with a recognizable branding shift. Patton explains the journey leading to this alliance, which enhances their product visibility and reliability in the eyes of consumers. The discussion highlights how such partnerships can not only elevate a brand's status but also instill confidence in customers, as they associate Grabo's tools with the trusted DeWalt name. This segment is particularly engaging as it explores the nuances of brand identity within the competitive tool industry and the strategic decisions that drive market success.

As the episode progresses, the focus shifts to an urgent matter: the importance of proper storage for paints and chemicals in the home. Eric G. passionately addresses the health risks associated with storing these substances indoors, especially in areas connected to the main living space like attached garages. He provides listeners with practical solutions, advocating for the storage of such items in external sheds or detached garages to mitigate the risks of chemical exposure. This conversation not only educates homeowners on safety practices but also enhances their understanding of how to improve indoor air quality, a crucial consideration as the colder weather approaches and homes become more sealed off.

Here's what's coming up on around the House Saturday.

Host:

Yeah, you guys have been on a wild ride.

Host:

And now I noticed all over my social media some branding, from your typical black to some yellow on that thing.

Guest:

Yeah.

Guest:

So we were approached by Stanley, Black and Decker, I want to say, a couple years ago, right after, probably about a year after I started the company.

Guest:

So I know we've been in talks for a while with them, but yeah, we just launched or they launched a co brand, the DeWalt branded.

Guest:

So, yeah, it was a long time in the making.

Guest:

It's really good for visibility, it's really good for just brand awareness and reliability.

Host:

Right.

Guest:

So if DeWalt has one, then, okay, this company that manufactures for them must be reliable as well.

Host:

No kidding.

Host:

And here's the cool thing that I noticed, and this is something rare in the tool industry is they actually put your name on it.

Host:

They're not shy of saying, hey, this is a grabo that just works with our battery platform, which I think is pretty badass.

Guest:

Yeah.

Host:

One of the biggest ones is mistakes we make storing things inside our house, and that is storing paints and chemicals in your home.

Host:

Now, some of the things, if you do indoor air quality, it's all those chemicals in that attached garage, it's the paints, it's the brake cleaners, it's all of those things that you do if you're handy, those things can give off lots of chemicals and they're best kept outside in a shed inside that garage.

Host:

And if you can keep it so it's not attached to the house, that stuff loves, especially if your heating and cooling system is sitting out in the garage, that stuff loves, gets sucked in there through any cracks, crevices in that system.

Host:

And so when you can, when at all possible, keep them out of that attached garage.

Host:

And really, unless there's a reason you have to, like, you're in North Dakota, South Dakota someplace, Minnesota, where you have to all that and more on Saturdays.
