What kind of fruit will remain long after we are gone?
In Chapter 16 of I Am a Witness – The Search Is Over, “Fruit That Remains,” I explore a lesson that has increasingly shaped my understanding of ministry: salvation is a wonderful beginning, but Yeshua called us to make disciples.
Yeshua said:
“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that remains.” — John 15:16
Meetings end. Outreach events finish. Conferences come and go. Even the emotions of powerful spiritual moments eventually fade. But a life transformed by the Holy Spirit can continue bearing fruit for generations. A new believer becomes a disciple. That disciple helps someone else follow Yeshua. One transformed life touches another—and the fruit continues.
Yeshua ministered to thousands, yet He invested deeply in a small group of ordinary men. He walked with them, taught them, corrected them, encouraged them, and prepared them—because disciples reproduce. The Kingdom advances as transformed people begin helping others walk with Yeshua.
After more than forty years of ministry, my desire is not simply to count decisions, meetings, or crowds. I want to see fruit that remains.
One life transformed.
One disciple equipped.
One person helping another follow Yeshua.
One generation passing the testimony to the next.
The question is not simply, “What am I accomplishing today?”
Perhaps the greater question is:
“What am I investing in today that will still be bearing fruit when I am gone?”
