Shownotes
In this episode, Ted and Barb welcome Fred Evenson, Vice President of Operations at CR Structures Group. Fred started his career at Miller Electric and worked there for 12 years. He has been in the construction industry since he was 16, and with CR Structures for over four years.
Fred shares about how businesses can implement safety measures into work practices. And how to encourage subcontractors and vendors to follow safety measures. It all starts in their office, how they look at safety, how they implement it within their group and then bring those practices and details onto the site. It is important to be proactive, not reactive. Training on site is very important for safety. The more experienced team will be more safety orientated. Younger workers need to understand why safety is important. Training programs should be more interactive for younger employees, while more experienced employees want to hear and see somebody talking. If you have a strong safety program, you are going to be more efficient and profitable.
