Speaker:

Welcome to 12 Minute Converse with Jesus Believers.

Speaker:

God chose first to have a conversation with us, his creation.

Speaker:

Our prayer is that this listening space brings growth and transforms your life forever.

Speaker:

Praise God for you Bishop Kumbetja.

Speaker:

What part of the world are you in today?

Speaker:

I'm in Kenya.

Speaker:

Tell me what life is like in Kenya.

Speaker:

I generally live in the rain season, it's raining all over.

Speaker:

Our part is not really, not much affected with the rain.

Speaker:

It's moderate, it's all well.

Speaker:

God has given us the grace to serve him.

Speaker:

How did you come to meet Jesus?

Speaker:

I came to meet Jesus at a very young age.

Speaker:

Having lived a life of actual rejection, my mother took care of me for three months, then abandoned me.

Speaker:

I didn't see my dad.

Speaker:

My dad passed away before I was born, so I was brought up by my grandma.

Speaker:

And it's always like, who is this God?

Speaker:

What's life all about?

Speaker:

So being in that state of discouragement, state of feeling hopeless and no good education, not making it really at that age.

Speaker:

I had the gospel of Jesus and it was just on a public meeting, that's the crusader.

Speaker:

I had this minister actually preaching hope in my life, preaching love, and actually pointing me to our father, who is so loving, so caring.

Speaker:

Our father was out to adopt, actually in Christ he had been adopted, and to cry out for our father.

Speaker:

So I looked to that and said, surely, that is the father that I need in life.

Speaker:

And so at the age of 14 years, I gave my life to Jesus.

Speaker:

I began the journey of faith and I've traveled that journey, getting married in 1999, beginning a family.

Speaker:

By that time I was preaching Christ, getting trainings to build my capacity to minister.

Speaker:

Was this a dream that you had to do what you're doing today?

Speaker:

Yeah, this dream actually came in my life after I've done my first training with YWAM.

Speaker:

I did another one with Miracle Bible Seed.

Speaker:

And then there's this passion that God put into my heart.

Speaker:

After observing some of the things that ministers of the gospel do, I actually felt like we just need to get out and share that little information that we have, so that we can build ministers, equip them with the knowledge.

Speaker:

The Bible says, my people perished for lack of knowledge.

Speaker:

I find that ministers die along the way, lose faith, lose hope along the way, just because they don't have the knowledge, they don't have the information that can help them continue.

Speaker:

So God put that passion in my heart just to begin a little bit training ministers.

Speaker:

And I've seen it since 2013, by the grace of God, I've been able to train and release commission ministers.

Speaker:

And wherever they are, they have a testimony, that actually the knowledge, the information that I've shared with them, has equipped them as some chaplains in schools, some AI teachers, some other places.

Speaker:

So that's by the grace of God.

Speaker:

What are you visioning for the future?

Speaker:

The future is bigger.

Speaker:

And it's just my prayer that it gets somebody to hold my hand.

Speaker:

Because what I'm seeing in the future, because what I'm currently doing, I go to pastors where the need is.

Speaker:

Some of them actually, they respond, but along the way they drop, maybe just because they have lacked that little fee that you conduct, just for the printing, reproducing of materials along the way, they drop because of financial constraints and financial difficulties.

Speaker:

So they drop along the way.

Speaker:

And that breaks my heart, God, why don't you bring in somebody just to step in?

Speaker:

So we get little money, we print the lessons, we give them, they graduate, we send them in the field and they do the work of God.

Speaker:

So the big picture I'm seeing that we can build an institution, we can build a seminary, get some funds to build facilities where that we can bring in these pastors, teach them the word of God.

Speaker:

Even if it's one month, one month, one month, or three months consecutively, then they break for holiday, then they come back for another three months.

Speaker:

That is to be able to get the diploma, to be able to get the degree, to be able to get the certificate.

Speaker:

So future, to me, it looks bright if I have friends who can step in, but it looks big and challenging if I don't have friends who can step in.

Speaker:

So I'm looking at just building facilities, building Bible college, bringing in the teachers, train them, train trainers who can also continue the vision.

Speaker:

Because we are aging, I'm aging, I can't continue, I can't travel here and there.

Speaker:

But if we can get this facility at one location, then train them, train the trainers.

Speaker:

I remember traveling to Rwanda, that is in 2024.

Speaker:

I had a big team of pastors who wanted the training, but I looked at the budget, I said, wow, God, I can't make it as a man, I need your intervention.

Speaker:

But there's still a need there.

Speaker:

Those pastors are still calling, bishop weekly, what happened?

Speaker:

Why don't you come back?

Speaker:

I said, no.

Speaker:

August time, I'll be back and we'll continue the training.

Speaker:

So that's the big picture.

Speaker:

For the person who's listening, how do they connect with you if they want to support you?

Speaker:

They can connect me through LinkedIn.

Speaker:

They can connect with me through Facebook.

Speaker:

Another challenge you have in Kenya, you can't get actually a link that goes international, maybe for fundraising for the nation, which is very hard.

Speaker:

But if those who are able to transfer through mobile money, I can share my telephone number, that would be easiest way.

Speaker:

They can share, they can access mobile money, and then they can support me, $1, $3, $10, the dollar.

Speaker:

I'll appreciate, we'll keep on touching lives of people and changing the communities for the kingdom of God.

Speaker:

So imagine five years from today, you hit play, you're listening to this conversation, what's a message you'd leave for future you?

Speaker:

We have Jesus as our forerunner.

Speaker:

He has gone ahead of us, so we don't need to lose the hope.

Speaker:

We need to keep on believing in him as our anchor.

Speaker:

Whenever we trust him, all things should be good, all things will be successful, all things will be right.

Speaker:

That's the message I'm looking at, looking at Jesus as the author and the finisher of our faith.

Speaker:

My friend, it's been a pleasure, a treasure.

Speaker:

Thank you for being on What Is Inspired by 12 Minicons, boys.
