Hi, I'm Janet Murray, the creator of the Courageous Content Planner, and here's four content ideas for you for the month of February. They all use awareness days and can adapt, I promise. February 6th is time to talk now to talk about talking. So why not create content about the challenges around speaking or speaking up? The trick is always divide a business angle.
::
So for example, if you are a hairstylist, you could share advice on how to explain what you want to your hairstylist or what to tell them that you don't like your cut or color. Ditto if you sell hair or beauty products. If you're a bookkeeper, you could share advice on how to chase lates without causing embarrassment if you have a copy of content and follow my four by four strategy.
::
These are all examples of educate posts. February the 13th is World Radio. This is a great opportunity to share recommendations of podcasts and radio shows that will be relevant to your ideal customers or clients and ask them to share their own because people love sharing recommendations. If you have a copy of my Courageous Content and Follow Strategy, this would make a great community because it's about bringing people closer to you.
::
It's about building that relationship. February 17th is a random acts of kindness day, and the theme of kindness can take you to all sorts of interesting places. Maybe you have a personal story about an act of kindness. Why not share it and ask people to share theirs or create a post that calls out unkind behavior you see in your industry. For example, I created an Instagram reel about why I feel it's unkind to mock people for pointing at words on Instagram reel.
::
People really resonated with that message because it was all about showing other people kindness and not being unnecessarily unkind. Or you can flip around the awareness day. So instead of random acts of kindness, you could say three kind things that you can do for yourself today, or three kind things that you could do for your customer. And it doesn't have to be three,
::
by the way, it could be any number. Although if you are doing short form video like Instagram reel, I would always recommend no more than about that number because if it is, it's probably too long. And finally, February 20th, love Your Pet Day. Everyone loves a pet picture, so don't be afraid to share a picture of your or of your kitty or any other pets that you love.
::
And also, again, ask your audience to share theirs. This can be a community post and can work particularly well for Facebook group. It's a great piece of fill of content for Instagram stories because community content is all about bringing your audience closer, starting conversations, getting to know each other as the trick is to to think about how this topic might relate to your business.
::
For example, should you be allowed to bring a pet to work? Is it OK to have time off work after a bereavement or when adopting a pet? One of my best performing posts was, should dogs be allowed in hairdressers? I really kid you not remember. Also that sometimes it's just okay to post about non-business related stuff. People love to do business with people and they may well love seeing a picture of your dog or your cat cause lots of people love pets.
::
So I hope this has given you some content ideas for February, and I also hope it's shown you something. I find myself saying a lot awareness days don't have to be used literally, and they're not a straight jacket. That means that you have to create content where you start every post with it's random act of kindness day or it's love your pet day.
::
You absolutely should not do that. What they're there for is to spark ideas. As I hope I've shown you in this short podcast episode, I do have a number of podcast episodes on how to use awareness days in your content. One of them is non-cheesy ways to do Awareness Days in your Content. Another is Common Mistakes People Make with Awareness Days, and I'll link to those in the show notes.
::
Well worth listen if you have a copy of my Courageous Content Planner. But also if you don't, great awareness Days are a great way to quickly create content to promote your business. And I'd love to knows content if you create post using one of theses in. I'm Jan Murray UK on most social media platforms.
