David:

Planning is essential, but plans are useless. Because by planning or putting together a plan, you create a starting point. It creates a guiding north. You start going to the gym, you start changing your diet, you start speaking to your friends about the thing that you want. In order to kind of put it out there, you have to take action. You come up with a business plan and you start figuring out how to attract new clients and create consistency in your marketing. But rarely is the plan that we start with, the plan that we look back on that produces the results. That's why planning is essential, but plans are useless. So yeah, you got to be on the court of life, moving towards either the goal that you've set for yourself, the desire that you have, or just being engaged and enjoying your life, period. Rather than being consumed by self sabotage or procrastination or indecision or feeling like you're not enough. Again, going back to step two, Eliminate the resistance. When you're out there in life, either taking consistent, simple daily action towards the things that you want to produce, or you're just out there enjoying your life. Life will work with you. Remember step three to create the rendezvous, the coincidences and the synchronicities to produce the result. Welcome to A Changed Mind. A journey into the topics that matter to you most. From the neuroscience and spirituality of mindset and personal growth, to groundbreaking strategies for health, wealth and relationships, to open and honest conversations about press, global issues such as the environment, censorship, corporate capture and democracy.

Each and every episode reminds us of the certainty of the goodness of the future and provides the teachings, tools and timeless wisdom inspiring you to create real, lasting change in your life and in the world. If you've been desiring a sanctuary for your spirit, a place to go to tune out the distraction, negativity and doom and gloom so that you can tap into the deep power, the vibrancy and the potential you have inside. You're in the right place. Welcome to A Changed Mind. Hey, it's David. Welcome to A Changed Mind. A sanctuary for your spirit. A place where each and every episode I remind you of the certainty of the goodness of the future. I'm your friend, your host, your guide, David Bayer. TIS the season for goal setting, which means it is the time of year where most people decide to do many new things in the upcoming year and fail to achieve them. Now, don't get me wrong, we certainly have incremental improvements in our life. But if you're like me, you've probably gone year after year after year setting goals. Big goals, a big vision and Achieving just a fraction of it. So if you are tired of setting goals and not achieving them, and you're wanting to really crush this next year with big goals and a big vision, and to be able to actually materialize and manifest that vision into reality, you're going to love this episode, because what I'm going to be sharing with you has absolutely changed my life.

It is a method of setting goals that incorporates neuroscience and quantum field theory and metaphysics. I've used this framework over the last eight years to literally go from having no money in my bank account, two homes in foreclosure, completely unclear about my purpose in life, and single for 10 years, to growing a $30 million transformational company, helping millions of people, married to the woman of my dreams, and living a life that I never thought possible. And all that is due to this framework that I'm going to be teaching you. It has five steps, and again, it incorporates all the major frameworks from behavioral psychology to neuroscience to quantum theory. So it does not matter if you're coming goal setting from a peak performance standpoint or if you're coming at it from a spiritual standpoint. So stay tuned, because what I'm going to share with you is absolutely going to change your life just like it did mine. And by the way, this is also episode 100 of this podcast, another milestone. So I want to thank you for being here and being a part of this community and the show. And the fact that this podcast has gone from zero to a million listeners a month in less than 28 months is a testament to everything that I'm gonna share with you right now.

Okay, this five process starts with one thing, and that is get clear on what you want. Now, I know it may seem common sense, but a lot of people come into the new year very, very focused on the things that they didn't like in their previous year. I don't wanna be overweight anymore. I don't wanna be undisciplined. I don't wanna be single. I don't wanna have relationship friction. I don't wanna have fear of financial insecurity. And you gotta actually get focused and clear on what you want. So a year and a half ago, I knew that I had a message to share. I knew that what I was sharing helped a lot of people. We built a very successful business, and I could have been focused on the fact that my brand was not as big as I wanted it to be. And I wasn't helping more people through my social media or a podcast or my books. But I got clear at the end of the year on what I wanted. And what I wanted was to have a podcast that would impact millions of people. You have to know what you want, because desire is the catalyst for all change. And that's really a writer downer. All change starts with a desire for something. It's a desire for something. It's not to get away from something. Now, 10, 12, 14 years ago now, it was this time of year, at the end of the year, I'd been single for 10 years, and I made a decision that I was going to meet a beautiful Colombian woman and make her my wife. I didn't make that decision because I was trying to get away from being alone. I made that decision because I thought Colombian women were some of the most beautiful women in the world. And I knew I was ready for a relationship. It came from a place of excitement, and I was very clear on what I wanted. And two weeks later, through a string of incredible synchronicities, I'm not going to go through the whole story now.

I talk about it on other episodes. I met the future Mrs. Carol Bear. That all came from desire and being clear on what I wanted. And so I know that sometimes this last year can feel really, really tough. There were a lot of contrast and changes for a lot of people, a lot of challenges to overcome. This could have been a huge growth year for you. But the key is to be clear on what it is you want. Napoleon Hill talks about this. He talks about a burning desire for something. Neville Goddard, one of the great mystical teachers that talks about the power of imagination and how to create from the fourth dimension, said that in order for you to materialize or manifest what you want, you have to be clear on what it is. And so a lot of people just continue with the momentum of the previous year, running into the next year, and then wondering why they're experiencing what I call a Bill Murray Groundhog Day type of experience. If you remember that great movie from the early 90s, where Bill Murray is living the same day over and over and over again. For many of us, it feels like we're living the same year over and over and over again. Number one is you got to know what you want. This is the time of year to do things like vision boards. It is the time of year to set goals. Whether it's in your business or your health or your relationships. This is the time to do that. And it's very important that you establish as much clarity as you have access to around those things that you want okay, that's step number one. Step number two. After getting clear on what you want, the most important thing that most people forget is that you must let go of the resistance that you actually have to the thing that you want. Many people mistake the idea of New Year's resolutions as coming up with a list like the New Year is Santa Claus and submitting that list to the New year, expecting to get it. But resolution has its roots in resolve to resolve to complete, to let go of, well, what are we completing and letting go of? Well, we're letting go of the psychology and the neurology, the habits of thought and habits of emotion that we held in the previous year that were the reason why we didn't manifest or create what we're wanting to create in the previous year. And so, as you move into a new year, real resolution is completing the trauma, the stories, the limiting beliefs that you're ready to put down and let go of so that you can be a different person and create a different year in the new year. You know, even as I started this podcast, I had a lot of resistance. I started looking at the first few episodes. Nobody was listening. It was a couple hundred listens on the audio platform, a couple hundred watches on YouTube. You can actually go back if you're listening on YouTube and look at some of the earlier episodes. Nobody was watching. And I was getting frustrated. It was like, what am I doing wrong? I'm putting my message out there. Episode 10, nothing really changed. Episode 15, nothing really changed. Episode 25, nothing really changed. It wasn't until episode 46, almost eight months after I started the podcast, that this show went from about 5,000 listens a month on the audio platforms and 5,000 watches a month on YouTube to a million listens a month in one month. I was at a conference recently and I was introduced. The host mentioned that I have a pretty big podcast and was helping a lot of people. And so when I was at the VIP dinner, somebody sitting at my table said, hey, like, what did you do that created the shift where your podcast went from like, nothing to something really, really big? And I said, well, do you want the third dimensional answer or the fourth dimensional answer? He said, well, what's the third dimensional answer? I said, well, I recorded an episode and didn't give up. And about 46 episodes in.
