“Be careful not to confuse human facts with God’s wisdom” - Wesleyne

John 7:18:

Those who speak for themselves want glory only for themselves, but a person who seeks to honor the one who sent him speaks truth, not lies.

In this verse, Jesus is confronted by the Pharisees, who are questioning his authority and teachings. In his response, Jesus reveals an important principle that applies to all aspects of life: that the source of our words and actions is what ultimately determines their value and impact. Jesus explains that those who speak on their own authority are seeking their own glory, while those who seek to honor God and speak his truth are truly trustworthy. This distinction challenges us to examine our own motives and consider whether we are seeking to advance our own agendas or to honor God in all that we say and do.

Today, you will be reminded of the importance of aligning your words and actions with God's truth and purposes. You will be called upon to examine your own heart and motivations and to seek to honor God in all that you do. By doing so, you will be assured that your words and actions will have lasting value and impact and that you will be a trustworthy and faithful servant of God. This message is as relevant today as it was when Jesus spoke those words, and it should challenge you to live a  life that is truly centered on God's will and purpose.
