It may not be the best for everybody out there so that you can have a great relationship with your Maker. And on today's episode, we're going to talk about The Seven Lies the Devil Wants You to Believe, and I'll just start off with a prayer, Lord God in Heaven. Thank you very much for this episode today, may we please be open to the works of evil forces that may be out there. May we please be awake to what we should be aware of and I'll let our lives be changed and transformed forever and ever amen.

I would like to start off with something kind of funny. One bright, beautiful Sunday morning, before the church service starts, the congregation sit in their pews and talk about their lives and their families.  Suddenly, at the altar, Satan appears! Everyone starts screaming and running for the front entrance, trampling each other in their determined efforts to get away from the devil. Soon, everyone is evacuated from the church except for one man, who sits calmly in his pew. This confused Satan a bit. Satan walks up to the man and says, "Hey, don't you know who I am?" The man says, "Yep, sure do." Satan says, "Well, aren't you afraid of me?" The man says, "Nope, sure ain't." Satan, perturbed, says, "And why aren't you afraid of me?" The man says, "Well, I've been married to your sister for 25 years."

I want to talk to you about the seven lies the devil wants you to believe. The devil is called according to John 8:44, “a liar and the father of lies.” Satan tricks us by telling lies. He controls us by telling lies. He convinces us to do things that we wouldn’t do otherwise through lies. Please look at your neighbour and say “neighbour, God serves notice on you today. The devil is a liar!”

Here are the 7 lies the devil wants you to believe.

  1. The Word of God is not true: Genesis 3:1 says “Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which Jehovah God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye, shall not eat of any tree of the garden?” The very first deception the devil used was getting Eve to doubt the word of God. And it is still His major move today. When God has spoken a word of healing, prosperity, relational abundance and truth, the devil will try to get you to doubt what God said with sickness, poverty, loneliness and deceit. However, we have established that the devil is a liar, so when God has spoken a word then you better believe it. His word is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, as he said “Thy word is truth.”
  2. God does not exist: we live in a world of multiple beliefs and Atheism. One deception Atheists believe is that there is no God. However, we know there is a God due to the heavens that declare His work, the innate belief humans have that God exists, the existence of the intricate balances in the world. If there is a plan, there is a planner; If there is a design there is a designer; If there is a book there is an author. Who might that be? “Our father who art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name.” If you believe there is no God then God cannot help you as Hebrews 11:6 says “And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
  3. This world is all there is – there is no Heaven, Hell or Judgement so you do not have to be responsible for your actions: Hebrews 9:27 says, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” Jesus talked about Heaven (“In my Father’s house there are many mansions”) and Hell (“…where there will be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth”) If the devil gets you to believe this then you believe that your actions have no consequences and you can live like the devil all day, every day. Well, I assure you that your actions do have consequences and you will have to give an account of how you lived your life to God.
  4.  There are many ways to Heaven: 1 Timothy 4:1 says “But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons.” What is a doctrine of demons? A doctrine of demons is any way to Heaven but Jesus Christ. There is a multitude of religions that people believe is a way to heaven. However, there is only one God. Scripture says “Thou shall have no other Gods before me” and “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father but by me.”
  5.  You are insignificant as an individual; not loved and have no power. Genesis 1:26 says “Let us make them [humans] in our image and our likeness and let them have dominion.” This means that God cannot intervene on earth without your permission. When God wants to move on the earth, he always looks for one man or woman on the earth because He needs us to carry out His will on earth. People like Moses, Gideon, Joseph and St Paul felt insignificant some time in their lives. But because they were made in God’s image, they were used by God because they let Him make them significant. Say to your neighbour “you are significant!”
  6.  You have plenty of time to obey God: Luke 9:62: Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plough and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” The devil will get you to procrastinate and put off God’s will until tomorrow when it might be too late. Now is the time for Gods work.
  7. The devil does not exist: This is the greatest lie that the devil tells the world. Because if there is no devil, then you do not have to be aware of His tactics now do you? Well, I assure you that He does exist. John 10:10 says, “The thief cometh to kill, steal and destroy.” The devil does exist so he can deceive you, kill you, steal from you and destroy you. Be aware that he exists.

Once you know these lies, you will be able to combat them with the truth of God’s word; and you will be protected from all of the devil's tricks and attempts to keep you from God’s best.

May God bless you, keep you and make His face shine upon you and give you His peace. In Jesus name. Amen
