Meet Emily
Join Ebonie and Emily for a live coaching session. Emily is an M2M(f) member who wants to talk about the emotional barriers that hold her back from having a positive relationship with money in her business. Emily often finds that in situations where money isn’t involved, she experiences greater enjoyment and satisfaction than she does in situations where money is involved, and wants to shift this mindset.
Fav quotes from this episode:
“I feel resentment that is associated with the idea of asking for money”
“Managing money currently feels like a huge, unenjoyable experience”
“In my family growing up, money was never really talked about”
“I feel like someone is monitoring what I am doing”
“Adult Emily wants to play more!”
In this episode we talk about:
- How money is relative - with a thousand pounds representing a fortune for some people, and pocket change for others - and why there isn't a 'one size fits all' money mindset
- How incentivising chores and challenges for children can have an impact on their attitude towards money as an adult
- That the completion and perfection of tasks and goals doesn’t necessarily correlate with happiness and enjoyment - it’s okay to get things wrong sometimes, or simply enjoy the process and do something for ‘fun’
Plus, we discuss how we all have different versions of ourselves (i.e. ‘Adult’, ‘Playful’, ‘Organised’, etc.), and it’s our job to call on the most appropriate persona for different aspects of our day to day and business lives.
