Speaker:

Hey, hey, this is Sehaun with the GoTennis Podcast powered by Signature Tennis.

Speaker:

Today's tennis tip comes from Coach Nathan Singleton.

Speaker:

Have a listen and let us know what you think.

Speaker:

Welcome back everyone.

Speaker:

This is Nathan from First Serve University, your tactical specialist, giving you tactical

Speaker:

advice on how to win more matches.

Speaker:

Today let's talk about a formation that's not used anywhere nearly enough in doubles

Speaker:

matches and that's the Australian formation.

Speaker:

The Australian formation is when you have your partner stand in the middle of the box,

Speaker:

basing towards the returner while you're serving on the same side.

Speaker:

And what this does is it makes the returner have to hit the return down the line on a consistent

Speaker:

basis.

Speaker:

So if you find that your opponent's return is very good either with an angle or a strong

Speaker:

shot to the back of the baseline in the corner, use the Australian formation.

Speaker:

It really challenges the returner to do something different by having to hit down the line

Speaker:

consistently.

Speaker:

Just remember that when you're in this formation as soon as you serve as the server, make

Speaker:

sure that you run over to cover the shot down the line.

Speaker:

Let me know how you find success with this formation and using it more often.

Speaker:

This is Nathan from First Air of University, your tactical specialist, giving you tactical

Speaker:
