Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1265 of our trek, and it is time for our 3-minute mini trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.
Today’s quote is from Sasha Azevedo, and it is, “If you want success, then don’t rely on other people to do what YOU can do!”
Do What You Can Do
To be successful, we do need the assistance of others along our trek of life, but we should not depend on others to do what we can do ourselves. Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” This does not excuse us from doing our part, but it shows us that we need to be constantly improving ourselves and those whom we impact.
If you sit around waiting for others to make you more successful, then you will be sitting for a very long time. Instead, get up, get going, and then bring others along with you to sharpen you in those tasks that you are not particularly good at. We need to do what we can before we can ever expect others to come alongside us to fill in the gaps.
Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better. Let your light shine as an inspiration to all and be the reason someone believes in the goodness of people and God’s grace. Telling the world you are trying, is not doing. Don’t make excuses, produce results. This is when you will have success for yourself as you sharpen others so they too can be successful.
We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.
