Shownotes

Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Melisa Alaba, Brave Woman, Mom, cancer survivor, Breakthrough Coach, Money Maven and resilient badass Black woman.

I know what it’s like to lose something you love and experience your entire life flipping upside down as you try to figure out who you’re supposed to be now.

Going through cancer and a divorce at the same time was a serious wakeup call. Life was saying, “It’s time to heal old wounds and reach for new dreams.”

I went through all the same “quick fixes” you’ve probably tried (therapy, meditation, heck, you probably don’t want to see the notes I wrote in a couple of those self-help books everyone was talking about at the time.) But it was only when I decided that I had to work on me as a whole rather than work on different parts of me that I started to see the shift.

During that time, I discovered healing had to involve my finances. I started by rebuilding my financial foundation, asking for more in my business and for the support I needed at home. This opened up the possibility to recover my entire life.

Being Rich and Worthy is knowing we can be emotionally, physically, spiritually, and financially abundant. We get to be whole.

Through that self-healing journey, I learned about energetic healing and how to release old trauma. However, it was only when I started studying how to heal in my finances and applying abundance principles to my entire life that I noticed a big shift in confidence. This is where the B’healed Process was born.

Beautiful, Have an Extraordinary, Awesome Life Every Day.

Now, I help women who are on a similar journey to the one I walked to see themselves as the worthy women they’ve always been.

Melisa Alaba:

Welcome.

Melisa Alaba:

Welcome.

Melisa Alaba:

Welcome.

Melisa Alaba:

My name is Melissa Alva, your breakthrough coach and money healer.

Melisa Alaba:

I'm on a mission to help women on their lives so they can feel more secure,

Melisa Alaba:

making more money and building wealth.

Melisa Alaba:

I know what it's like to have money and to have lost money, to have had an

Melisa Alaba:

illness as well as go through a divorce.

Melisa Alaba:

And be a single mom.

Melisa Alaba:

And for so many women, we've had different circumstances that have come into our

Melisa Alaba:

life that make us feel ineffective when it comes to growing our money and

Melisa Alaba:

even making more money, we have put.

Melisa Alaba:

Different blocks up or mindsets that says saving is not for us.

Melisa Alaba:

Investing is not for us, or we're just not good at making money.

Melisa Alaba:

And those mindsets keep us from making more money.

Melisa Alaba:

It keeps us from investing.

Melisa Alaba:

It keeps us from saving.

Melisa Alaba:

It keeps us from doing it, things that were truly.

Melisa Alaba:

And at the end of the day, it truly keeps us from owning our lives.

Melisa Alaba:

So as a coach, my number one job is to help you break through these

Melisa Alaba:

mindsets as well as heal from your past trauma so that you can get to own

Melisa Alaba:

in the life that you truly deserve.

Melisa Alaba:

In 2013 and 2014, when I discovered it was truly time for me to get out

Melisa Alaba:

of a marriage to have become toxic and no longer environment work at thrive.

Melisa Alaba:

And I also knew I had cancer.

Melisa Alaba:

I had just gotten diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

Melisa Alaba:

I knew it was time for me to move to a space where I could be.

Melisa Alaba:

Where I could be in full joy.

Melisa Alaba:

And through that process of moving out of that relationship,

Melisa Alaba:

it required me to do some work.

Melisa Alaba:

And a lot of that work was working with a therapist, being involved in a group

Melisa Alaba:

program that I was involved in and getting around other women who also.

Melisa Alaba:

had experienced some of the things that I was going through.

Melisa Alaba:

And I also had to get to a space where I trusted myself.

Melisa Alaba:

Trust was so big because I had been in an environment where I had

Melisa Alaba:

made millions of dollars, right.

Melisa Alaba:

Um, from an early age, having my first private practice when I was 24, 25

Melisa Alaba:

years old, I can't even remember now.

Melisa Alaba:

And within the first three years, making a million dollars, having real

Melisa Alaba:

estate property from 24 years old.

Melisa Alaba:

Flipping properties sometimes getting $50,000 back one property.

Melisa Alaba:

I remember $80,000 and this was in 2004, five and six.

Melisa Alaba:

I mean, things were just really booming having win after win, but being with

Melisa Alaba:

a partner who could not identify when enough was enough so that we can enjoy.

Melisa Alaba:

And so not only was I.

Melisa Alaba:

Made to feel like I was just a machine at coming up with ideas and

Melisa Alaba:

manifested in building businesses.

Melisa Alaba:

But I didn't have that relationship piece that I deeply, deeply desired.

Melisa Alaba:

Right.

Melisa Alaba:

I deeply desire to have love and money.

Melisa Alaba:

So I was kind of, I was trained that you could only have one or the other,

Melisa Alaba:

you can have money, you can have.

Melisa Alaba:

A marriage debt is more like a business, but the love and the

Melisa Alaba:

relationship piece was outside of that.

Melisa Alaba:

And that literally was for other people.

Melisa Alaba:

So having this moment of now, you know, deciding that this is no longer

Melisa Alaba:

for me, I really wanted to move in a different direction in my business.

Melisa Alaba:

I wanted to coach women.

Melisa Alaba:

I wanted to expand.

Melisa Alaba:

I wanted to travel more and I was definitely doing those

Melisa Alaba:

things, but that was becoming.

Melisa Alaba:

Very much a no-no for my partner.

Melisa Alaba:

He couldn't stand the fact that I was becoming a new person.

Melisa Alaba:

And that was fine, but I knew I had to take a different route.

Melisa Alaba:

And so in taking this different route and discovering me, I had to get to a

Melisa Alaba:

place where I trusted myself more deeply.

Melisa Alaba:

I had to get to a place where I trusted my intuition so that I could make decisions

Melisa Alaba:

and trusted it was going to be okay.

Melisa Alaba:

I had to get to a place where I understood my value outside of the

Melisa Alaba:

work outside of the money outside of feeling like I was just a manifester.

Melisa Alaba:

I was just the vehicle behind the ideas being rolled out.

Melisa Alaba:

And I had to get to a place where I understood that marriage was more

Melisa Alaba:

than just a business partnership.

Melisa Alaba:

And I want it more, there are people who are in relationships like that,

Melisa Alaba:

and that's totally fine for them.

Melisa Alaba:

I had decided I wanted more.

Melisa Alaba:

I want it love.

Melisa Alaba:

I want it kindness.

Melisa Alaba:

I want it joy.

Melisa Alaba:

I wanted freedom and I had to get to a space where I understood

Melisa Alaba:

that I could have it all I could have love and I could have money.

Melisa Alaba:

And so in working with women, it is so vitally important for me to

Melisa Alaba:

allow them to know that you don't have to stay stuck in thinking that

Melisa Alaba:

is only one way of doing anything.

Melisa Alaba:

You're either highly successful, but yet your love life is lacking, right?

Melisa Alaba:

You are either have relationships, but yet you have no money.

Melisa Alaba:

You either have a great job, but yet you have no time to take vacations.

Melisa Alaba:

I want women to understand that you can have all the ants.

Melisa Alaba:

And so I started to rebuild my life during that time or what I call God's grace,

Melisa Alaba:

a pause and during my cancer journey.

Melisa Alaba:

And I traveled and I ate good and I exercise and I rebuild routines

Melisa Alaba:

around the life that I currently had and what I desired for myself.

Melisa Alaba:

I discovered a life of expansion during that time.

Melisa Alaba:

It wasn't a sad time for me.

Melisa Alaba:

Although a lot of sad things may have happened.

Melisa Alaba:

It was literally a time when I was filled with so much joy.

Melisa Alaba:

That I just wanted that joy to continue.

Melisa Alaba:

And I made myself a promise when I decided that I was going to go full fledged

Melisa Alaba:

back into business, I wanted to help women and bring them on this journey.

Melisa Alaba:

And I wanted my business always to look like that, to look like ands.

Melisa Alaba:

Joy to look like bliss to feel like bliss.

Melisa Alaba:

And so in service of this podcast, that is what you're going to get.

Melisa Alaba:

You're going to hear things that you may have never heard

Melisa Alaba:

before you can have money.

Melisa Alaba:

You can have love.

Melisa Alaba:

You can have peace, you can have joy and you can do that

Melisa Alaba:

without beating yourself up.

Melisa Alaba:

You can do that without thinking I haven't done enough.

Melisa Alaba:

All wicked house, you can do that by understanding that God

Melisa Alaba:

does want the best for you.

Melisa Alaba:

You do deserve the best.

Melisa Alaba:

So I hope that you will continue to listen, grow, and as I share journal

Melisa Alaba:

prompts throughout the episodes, get your journal out and literally

Melisa Alaba:

ask yourself those questions.

Melisa Alaba:

What do I need right now?

Melisa Alaba:

So let's get us started just in this episode right here.

Melisa Alaba:

Tell me what do you need to do to own your life?

Melisa Alaba:

All right.

Melisa Alaba:

I'm so excited that you're here.

Melisa Alaba:

And I look forward to talking to you on the next episode.
