Degenerative suspensory ligament desmitis (DSLD) is a complex, progressive condition that causes pain and lameness in horses. Though researchers currently consider DSLD to be uncurable, they are working to better understand the degenerative changes that occur in the suspensory ligament and identify genes potentially involved in the development of DSLD.
