What if the biggest thing affecting your money, focus, and performance is not your strategy, but your brain?

In this episode, Loral sits down with Dr. Patrick Porter, founder of BrainTap, to talk about brain training for entrepreneurs and why so many business owners stay stuck in stress, survival mode, and mental overload. They explore how your brain processes pressure, how stress changes your decision-making, and why better results require more than motivation alone.

Dr. Porter explains how brain training for entrepreneurs can help improve sleep, focus, emotional regulation, productivity, and even financial decision-making.

If you have ever felt mentally exhausted, reactive, or stuck in overdrive, this episode shows why brain training for entrepreneurs may be one of the most overlooked tools in both health and wealth building.

Loral Langemeier:

Hey, this is Loral, and welcome back to Loral's Real Money Talks a podcast about money. We talk about how to make it, we talk about how to keep it, how to invest it in, why you need an integrated team to support your entire journey. And every week, every Friday, we come out with a

Loral Langemeier:

podcast. Most of them are interviews with amazing people that make money in a very unique way. There are so many amazing inventions and strategies and just industries. A lot of people have it in their head they can't make money. And I believe you can make money doing anything, as long as you have the right

Loral Langemeier:

mindset, the right strategy, the right plan. So we just counter all those negative indicators and say you can do anything you want, when you want, and to even amplify that kind of what I call YES energy conversation, I've Dr Patrick Porter with me, who is the founder and inventor of brain tap. It is the most

Loral Langemeier:

amazing tool. NFL players use it. Pro athletes use it. Our community is hugely into it for now, probably, what, 810, years? Yes. So to Patrick, welcome back. I also have part of my millionaire maker in the series. We'll be talking about that as well. But welcome back to laurels, where money talks.

Loral Langemeier:

Dr. Patrick Porter: Well, it's great to be here. And just so everyone knows, I use you. I go to your I not only go to your I'm a user like the I don't use Hair Club for Men. You can tell if you're watching the video, but I do use all of your recommendations. It's been fantastic. We've we've changed

Loral Langemeier:

our attitude about money and just how we can keep escalating that game as well.

Loral Langemeier:

So talk a little bit about be pre brain tap. Who was Patrick Porter before brain tap, because I think it's really unique that you ended up creating this extraordinary, really, you know, neuroscience, brain technology that, as it's proven to to be more effective. And if, how

Loral Langemeier:

would you even say, like, affect your your brain health, your activation of your neuro system, etc.

Loral Langemeier:

Dr. Patrick Porter: Yeah, well, before brain tap, I ran a franchise company because I realized that I couldn't be employed. I'm one of those people that's unemployable. You know, I want to have the freedom to create, and I like to be the master. You know, when you work for yourself, you do work long

Loral Langemeier:

hours. I always tell people you got to do what you need to do until you can do what you want to do. And so I found that some of the things I needed to do I couldn't do while I was working a nine to five job. And so my dad was a silver instructor, and he taught us really well how to use our mind and visualize what

Loral Langemeier:

we wanted. And so I went into private practice. Then I started a franchise company. I sold that early 2002 and thought I was just going to be out there speaking and lecturing and doing my thing, but then nobody was advancing the technology. And so I sat down with Cynthia, and I said, I need something for the

Loral Langemeier:

back of the room. You know, when you sell, when you're speaking and doing that, you you get paid, of course, on the front end, but it's to really maximize your reach, you gotta have something on the back end, besides books. You know, books are great, but you don't make a living off books. They're like

Loral Langemeier:

business cards. So I said, I'm going to reinvent the brain tap. And at the time it was called the MC square, the path finder. We had tons of the Zen frames and and I decided I'm going to make it all in one and this time, I'm going to do something I never did before. I'm going to go out to doctors and I'm going

Loral Langemeier:

to get doctors to use it in their clinic. So I wasn't going to franchise again, because as fun as that was, it was like as a babysitter for 108 locations. And so what I what I found out was, when I partner with doctors, they can validate the science. So over the last 12 years, we've had 72 different

Loral Langemeier:

peer reviewed studies that are, if they go to PubMed, put my name in or my science officer, Dr Francisco sodral, we just published 23 this year. Universities around the world are embracing this because not just in money making, but in anything, if your brain doesn't function at its peak levels,

Loral Langemeier:

you're not going to perform well anywhere. So what I before that? I've always been the kind of person that looks at something and says, that works pretty well. I wonder if I can use that. And then while I'm using it, I'm always thinking, how can I make this better? And for me, it was meditation and

Loral Langemeier:

relaxation. Because I'm a psychologist. Is my my PhD in my clients couldn't relax. And one thing that stops people, whether it's making money or making changes in their life is stress or life, you know, you can call it Life, because a lot of people don't realize that. But just like it says in the back in your

Loral Langemeier:

background, there, life is now in session. You know, I always tell people in the morning, you wake up and you're looking down the track and you got to run the 100 yard dash, and you look at the starting you go, Wait a minute. I didn't train for this in, you know, in the reality is that we're all part of the human

Loral Langemeier:

race, right? The human race, not just the human race as biological beings, but we're in a race. You know, if you we've all had that idea in our mind, and then we didn't act it, and then we see it somewhere we go. I thought of that three years ago. Don't you remember Marge? I told you about that. The. Thing

Loral Langemeier:

is that, you know, there's a difference between visualization and activation, so we needed something in that. Activation piece is about energy. And unfortunately for those listening, you know, money sometimes can be a drain on energy, because people start thinking of all the

Loral Langemeier:

implications. You know, somebody said, you must pay a lot of taxes. I said, I hope so. But now with you, I don't have to do that anymore. But, you know, I used to think I had to change my mindset around taxes. If you're paying a lot of taxes, that must mean you made a lot of money. Now I can learn to make a lot of

Loral Langemeier:

money and keep what's mine, you know, in in do it that way. But you know, some people think, Oh, I don't want all that money because of the hassle. I said, well, good friend of mine once said, The best thing about the best thing you can do for poor people is not be one of them, you know, and so, so, you know,

Loral Langemeier:

when you're an entrepreneur, sometimes you can feel like you're one of those poor people. And you know, I was doing speaking, but you probably know that those speaking gigs can come some months you're so busy you have to turn things away. In other months, you're not speaking at all, and you're

Loral Langemeier:

going, on here, and I felt like I was always begging for business. So I wanted to have, I created a subscription model. It was kind of like my franchise company, and now my subscription model is well above a half a million dollars a year and growing. We have, luckily for us, in the app that we're going

Loral Langemeier:

to talk about that you're on, we have less than a 1% churn and just so the listener understands that our our vendor that we use to process our payments, they use us as the example for everyone in their system, because nobody has less than a 1% churn, but we do because it actually does something for

Loral Langemeier:

people, yeah,

Loral Langemeier:

and I want to just reinforce the for the listeners. Mean most memberships churn 30% a month. So for every 100 you drop, 30, you've got to pick them back up. So to have that low of a membership churn rate is is impressive, to say the least, but it's also because you have a very effective

Loral Langemeier:

product. So before we talk about the actual product, let's go into some of the the conversations and this the topics like talk about the brain being an essential survival machine. I mean, it actually prioritizes safety overgrowth. Let's get to the brain and help the listeners, just like I

Loral Langemeier:

helped you see that taxes is actually a prediction that you can control. You can actually control a lot of your outputs by the way your brain's functioning.

Unknown:

Yeah, most people are stuck in what they call sympathetic drive, and this, turns out, the amygdala. This is your primitive brain, and we've all been in arguments, and afterwards we go, Man, I wish I'd have said that or done that. That's because under that stressful situation, you return

Unknown:

to your primitive self. They might say, Oh, you're acting like your father, or you're acting like your mother, you know, whatever, because they've seen them in action, you know. But because we learn from them, right? We learn from those experiences. But the reality is, if you can learn by

Unknown:

visualization, I say you get what you rehearse, not what you intend. Intention is, you know, they always say, the road to hell is paved with great intentions. So when you rehearse something mentally, you start to predict the future, because we're predicting it anyway. We might as well predict it with

Unknown:

calm, with peace. And so when you when you learn to breathe through those difficult situations, which is one of the things brain tap teaches you keep blood flow to the frontal lobe. Now, that frontal lobe is where you make the best business decisions. You're not going to make the best business decisions

Unknown:

in Survivor Mode, you know, because you might, you might take immediate gratification over long term benefit. You know, sometimes you have to, like, just your model with savings. You know, a lot of people won't say because they want that. They want to go buy that speed boat, or they want to

Unknown:

go do whatever and and then they realize, wow, was that really a good investment. Then they get older. You know, with with over 95% of the people, they retire and expire because they don't have any money, and that's the biggest stress they have but if you can start thinking differently. So part of it is

Unknown:

the brain is designed for long term thinking, but our body is designed for short term gratification. That's why a lot of people get in trouble because they see something. You know, there's a song out there that I kid my grandchild about. One of them is a long term thinker. You'll give her, you'll give her

Unknown:

something, and she'll save it and save it and save it until and then Eli will eat them all up right away. And I'm trying to say Eli, you know, just pause, you know, just take some time. But we have to kind of fight against our nature, because it's our nature. You think about, if we're on the Serengeti, if we

Unknown:

saw food, we'd eat food. You know, in in the same thing's true. Sometimes business opportunities, we see an opportunity, we gobble that up, and then we realize, oh, maybe that wasn't the best decision for me because we didn't have the right counsel, or we didn't look at the long term benefits.

Unknown:

And that's a brain function in also, a lot of people don't listen to their gut you know, the

Loral Langemeier:

say, talk about your the gut feelings. A lot of people actually do, and they say their best decisions are gut, but they confuse it with intuition. So talk and and then I want to put a third character, like like variable on that is your knowledge base, because a lot of times it's a

Loral Langemeier:

lack of knowledge that even with that, you make the wrong decision, whether your gut says yes or your intuition. So talk about that experience.

Loral Langemeier:

Dr. Patrick Porter: Experience, yeah, well, your gut, I I consider the gut the first brain, not the second brain, because if you had a spinal cord injury, you would still eliminate, you would still function. You just wouldn't be able to walk, you know, in maybe use your limbs, because that's

Loral Langemeier:

the brain the key. There's more neuro activity in your gut than there is between your ears. Most people don't know that. And so if we learn to tune into we all have a BS meter, and everyone listening probably remembers a time when they should have listened to their intuition, or whatever they want to call it,

Loral Langemeier:

their gut instinct. And if you start to realize your your gut in the way it makes you feel, and this is because there's a field around everyone, and this isn't metaphysics we're talking about. For those that are so left brain, they they've never researched it, but on NIH, is website the National Institute

Loral Langemeier:

of Health. If you go there after this, listening to this podcast, and you type in bio field, you're going to find in 1994 our National Institute of Health said that every living being has a energy field around them of three feet, and all illness starts in that field. And I would say, in this sounds like

Loral Langemeier:

metaphysics, but it's science, you know. So what, what's going on is that field goes out. We communicate on a nonverbal like when we're on the phone with somebody, or on a webinar, or we're in person with them, we're exchanging energy, because MIT, this is something that shocked me. 12 weeks ago, MIT came out

Loral Langemeier:

and said, The Human Thought expands out to 10,000 miles from the one having it and goes into a field of energy. This is MIT saying. This goes into a field of information that looks like the World Wide Web. So that means when you're projecting your thoughts out into reality, if you're if you're projecting

Loral Langemeier:

your thoughts with fear, like you think life's happening to you. You know, the pessimistic kind of mindset, or if you're looking at as a challenge, in looking at as an opportunity mindset, you're putting that out there like seeds. It's not just something that is some metaphysical person telling you

Loral Langemeier:

about this is actually science back now in the every thought they say has a magnetic quality. They can actually weigh a thought. Now it's not just in the ethers. It's energy that is transmitted. And even though we're not close together here, we're within 10,000 miles. But then in the process, what's

Loral Langemeier:

happening is our cells are actually broadcasting information. They This is the mitochondria. It's its job. So when, when we think about the gut, it's going out and getting information from us, bringing it back, if we, if we really had to control all of our biological functions, all 75 trillion

Loral Langemeier:

cells, our liver, our kidneys, our you know, there's no way we could do it. It's, it's being controlled by a power greater than us. And so we're in the field, but we're not controlling the field, but we can control, like a like a compass. We can control where we go in that field. So in the process, in

Loral Langemeier:

when we listen to the gut, in we go, we go into a flow state, really, because everyone will know, hey, everything just seemed to work for me. I got the right decisions met the right people. I thought about somebody that called me on the phone. Well, that's because we're all connected. There's no disconnect

Loral Langemeier:

between any person or an individual on the there's no space between us either. There's something between us. We just filter it out. Our brain's really good at that. And so when you think about those things, that's the gut is getting information for us. You know, in the first place that it gets it

Loral Langemeier:

actually is through our sense of smell, because that's the first that's the first nerve that gets connected to the brain. That's why, if you wondering if you're going to get dementia, you can smell peanut butter. This is one of the things that's amazing. If you can't smell peanut butter, if you are fearful of dementia,

Loral Langemeier:

just go into the cupboard, open up peanut butter. If you can't smell it, you're five years away from dementia, and that's been proven. Yes, it's one of the it's one of the tests in that we give people in we know that it's an energy equation. So as we age, listeners, just bear with me for a moment. When you were

Loral Langemeier:

born, you were the smartest you're ever going to be. What I mean by that is you had 100 billion neurobit processor, a 100 billion neurons firing for you, and every one of those neurons is more capable than a Cray computer, more capable than chat, G, P, T, but as we age, that 18.1 volt brain slows down.

Loral Langemeier:

By the time we're 21 it's 10.1 volts in our studies we've done for dementia, when they get down below seven volts, they start to create dementia symptoms. We get below four. You get Alzheimer's in our study, where they use brain tap three times a day within six weeks. And now that's in a bigger study at Seminole

Loral Langemeier:

college, every person is off the dementia scale within six weeks. Now we don't have the same luck with Alzheimer's because it needs more energy. So we use red LED light. We use some other hell hacks, if you will, to get the body to do it, but the brain tap can, because everyone is under the stress of their life,

Loral Langemeier:

and so that stress overrides our biological system, so we're not getting the right gut information. It's kind of like pain. It overrides all the joy, so you're feeling only pain. So if you can get. It out of the stress, you can start intuitively or listening to your gut more fully, and that's why I

Loral Langemeier:

always recommend people, in any decision, they should pause, break and breathe. There's no There's no requirement in the laws of nature that you answer somebody right away. But that's your reactionary mind, and sometimes that reactionary mind is on impulse in months to get out of pain, right? We either

Loral Langemeier:

run toward pleasure or we run away from pain. So if you've ran your life avoiding pain, then you don't always make great decisions. And because I went on too long, Laurel, I don't remember that third piece.

Loral Langemeier:

I want to, I want to take your the the gut, the gut feeling, because you went to, like, starting to go into where the dementia goes with the peanut butter. But I want to stay on the the 10,000 what miles that you can project your thoughts. And now bring in the money conversation of

Loral Langemeier:

scarcity versus abundance, and talk about how that just continues to be a domino. Really is how I see it, right?

Loral Langemeier:

Dr. Patrick Porter: Well, one thing is it, you ask the person who's succeeding in life, and opportunities are everywhere. You ask the person who's failing in life, and they'll tell you, Oh, man, the government's doing this, this. This is going to happen there. It's all in perceptual filters. And what

Loral Langemeier:

they everyone knows about nose blindness. This is when you live next to a dump, and somebody comes over and they say, How can you live here? It smells so bad. They go, I don't smell it. Or you live next to an airport and you go, how can you think the airplane is going? I don't even hear them, because the brain's

Loral Langemeier:

really good at filtering things out. So the brain's really good. If you are a, I don't want to call them a negative thinker. It's just you're protecting yourself. It's not that your brain's against you. It's just trying to protect you. So we have to, we have to tell that four year old inside that

Loral Langemeier:

subconscious mind, hey, you're safe. It's okay. You can risk. Don't risk too much. You know. You need to know your risk boundaries. But when you but if you don't even risk it all, they know. One of the frightening things that they just found out in MIT is coming out with all this, these studies, is that

Loral Langemeier:

when you think in a negative way, you actually down regulate every DNA pair, and they now realize that those DNA pairs in our body are never fixed. Every 40 seconds, it's evaluating your environment, your thoughts, your foods, everything about you is changing every 40 seconds. So when you think, when Henry Ford

Loral Langemeier:

said, you know, you think you can or you think you can't. Your biological system actually up regulates when you think you can. So if you get a let's say you get slammed with a big tax bill, which unfortunately, I did get. And so you can either say, Wow, this is a challenge. How can I meet it? Luckily I had the

Loral Langemeier:

money. I could pay it because I don't have addictions that would take my money away, but, but it's like I had this big chunk of money in the bank. Now I don't have it. How can I get it back? So now we're working on doing that, right? Yeah, so, but the thing is, I could have went, Oh God, what's the use? Why make

Loral Langemeier:

all this money pay all these taxes? No, you gotta say, this is a challenge in some people, you know, Cynthia, my wife, has a t shirt. It says, God only gives you what you can handle. And then underneath it says, He must think I'm a badass, you know, so, so when you when you think about your life, you only

Loral Langemeier:

get what you can handle now, if you can handle it, it'll keep downgrading it. It's kind of like when I was in in practice and I'd meet, I remember one girl came up and she said, You know, I lost 70 pounds, but I gained it back. Because when I lost 70 pounds, I was getting hit on all the time. And I said,

Loral Langemeier:

what happens now that you're 70 pounds heavier, don't you get hit on it? She goes, Yeah, but they're, they're not the same caliber of people. I said, so you can't, can't change men, you know? So I said, You've got to change yourself. You got to be able to say no. So it wasn't the problem that she was thin or

Loral Langemeier:

that she was overweight. She couldn't say no. So I said, you have the ability to say no. You can. You can reserve the right to go on a date with anybody you want, do whatever you want with people. And so you have to look at what's the underlying cause of it. And I always tell people, whatever you're going through,

Loral Langemeier:

especially in business, in life, that's your dark night of the soul. If you're going through something, think of Superman or any superhero they did. None of them got their superpowers without going through the dark night of the soul. So if you want the superpower of money, you got to face the challenges

Loral Langemeier:

of money. You know, it's not what you do with if you got the money, it's what you do with the money you have now, because that will get you to where you want to go.

Loral Langemeier:

Absolutely. Patrick, talk a little bit about, I love this one, how your father used meditation and Brain Training to overcome alcoholism and transform your whole family. I think it's a great story, and just it summarizes, in a lot of ways, what you've just talked about, on how he actually then

Loral Langemeier:

trained a lot of you, know, all of you, is his family.

Loral Langemeier:

Dr. Patrick Porter: Yeah, I usually say he's he's changed at least 10 million people so far the because he changed, I didn't have to be an alcoholic, I learned a new way of thinking. No, no. Member of our family, nine kids, have alcoholic problem, and so that doesn't mean we can't have a drink

Loral Langemeier:

occasionally. It just means that we don't chase the drink for our happiness, you know. And I'm not against people drinking or anything like that. I just think that if you, if you buy into the belief that you're a quote, alcohol. Colic, the number one law psychology states you can't be a behavior. And my dad went

Loral Langemeier:

to a silver class, learned to relax, and he realized I'm drinking to relax, you got to find the underlying motivator that's making that behavior possible and then find something better to do what my dad did in his teaching as a as children, he said to us, instead of parenting like most people do,

Loral Langemeier:

go to your room and think about what you did. About what you did. That's our prison system. It doesn't work. There's so many second, third, fourth, time offenders in prison, because you don't go to prison to think about what you did and how you go to prison, hopefully to get re educated. So what my dad did

Loral Langemeier:

was he had a list of books over on his bookshelf. And if we got in trouble, and I got in trouble a lot as a kid, he said, go over to the bookshelf, pull a book off, read a chapter and tell me how you're going to apply that in your life today, and then you can go play. I'd always pick the littlest book. It was as a man

Loral Langemeier:

thinketh, you know. So I'd read that book and I and at first I was just BS in him, you know, I'm going to do this, this and this. And then finally, he said, you know, Patrick, work. Faith without works is dead, you know, it says it in the book. So he says, we're going to write goals. So I wrote a goal that I

Loral Langemeier:

knew he would love. Was I was going to be captain of the football team. I was like, 98 pounds. I you know, I was the guy that the last one in line getting picked. But by the time I was a senior, I was a three sport captain and got a sports scholarship because he said, Now that you've got a goal, we gotta

Loral Langemeier:

do something about it. You gotta run every day. You've gotta lift weights, you gotta do these things. And I didn't know it. This is how the universe works for the listeners. I didn't know it, but a guy, I ran by his house every day for five years, he never, I never missed a day. If there was three foot of snow,

Loral Langemeier:

I still ran. If it was raining, I still ran every day. I did and I started. He started talking to me. I didn't know who he was. He was a coach at a downtown school that I didn't even know about, but he got transferred to be my head coach at my high school. And when he came in, he saw that high schools have clicks, right?

Loral Langemeier:

They already know who the captain's going to be because of but what he did, I started a I started a club, a weightlifting club and a running club, because I didn't want to do things myself. And he said, this year for the captain of the football team, we're going to let the freshmen, the juniors, the

Loral Langemeier:

sophomores and the seniors all book for the captain. Well, I won with a landslide, because they all loved me, because I wasn't beating them up. I was helping them to become better athletes, because I was one of them. And so you just do what you need to do, and those people show up. And I still remember my

Loral Langemeier:

track coach. He said, He tell the team, he says, distance runners, come with me. Sprinters, go with Porter, because I had a better workout than he did. Because I researched it. I learned from the UCLA coach. I did his I was doing his practice before my coaches. And my coach said,

Loral Langemeier:

Patrick, what are you doing out here? Because I had that. I had that six hour off. I said, Well, I'm staying in shape because your workout doesn't keep me in shape. I said this, and I told him what I was doing. He says, That's a great workout. Would you mind teaching the other kids? So I became like the coach

Loral Langemeier:

on the field, so you just do what you're and I loved it, you know. So I didn't love it at first. I didn't like running, I didn't like working out, I didn't, you know, so, but if I was going to be able to play with my friends and do my things. You know, as a junior in junior high, I had to pretend I

Loral Langemeier:

was doing these things. And pretty soon that pretending became actual fact.

Loral Langemeier:

Patrick, I'm gonna switch gears. I want to talk about neutral coupling and how that is, is really where your leader, you know, your brain waves

Loral Langemeier:

Dr. Patrick Porter: when we would we call when you talk about neuro training, when you recruit these brain waves, think of these brain waves that I'm going to talk about, like Wi Fi networks, and I'll just give one example, and then I'll go through them. When we were working with autistic children,

Loral Langemeier:

we did a study with them, and we found that when we got their brains to 23% alpha, which we could measure if they come to the event in Reno they can get their brains measured. And what happened was, when we got these kids, 90% of them started speaking without a speech pathologist in the person

Loral Langemeier:

running the study said, Why are they speaking? I said, Because speech is controlled by the Alpha Brainwave. That's why fear of public speaking. You know, you speak in front of the mirror, you're doing a great job. You speak at the kitchen table, you're doing a great job, but as soon as you get up in

Loral Langemeier:

front of a group, front of a group of people, you forget what you're going to say, because stress stops the flow of information in the brain. So we have to train the brain to get through that stress, and it's a brainwave pattern. So while we're talking now, the optimum brainwave would be 45%

Loral Langemeier:

reactionary. You know, my brain has to know, is this BS or am I? Is it something true? But then our intuitive mind has to say, how am I going to use this knowledge in the future? So if we keep that brain active, and then when we go down the pyramid of brain waves, there's think of alpha as your creative brain, if

Loral Langemeier:

you know, if you try to solve your problems, your logical brain, you're going to get stressed out. You're going to, you know it's not going to work, because that dictates the past predicts your future. The past doesn't predict your future. Your past is a series of memories that you experienced,

Loral Langemeier:

and every time you review them, you change them, you distort them, delete them, and change them to support your current moment, you know. So that's why I call them dragons of the past. People drag them on and drag them on and drag. Come on, is it kind of just a little thing for them? So, so, but the Alpha

Loral Langemeier:

Brain, you can start to predict the future, because you can have scenarios running in your mind. Imagine you have access to a Cray computer, and you can run predictability functions for for stocks and all that. Those people are crushing it because those computers can do but we have a stronger computer than

Loral Langemeier:

that. But if you don't activate your creativity. Now, theta is your inventive mind, and we should be operating even speaking at about, you know, 10% of that. Now, the great inventors of the past, they all had strategies. They would have a problem in their lab, like Edison, he had a iron ball he

Loral Langemeier:

would hold in his hand, and he would, you would go to sleep with that problem, and he conditioned his mind that when he dropped the ball, he had a little pan under there, and when he dropped the ball, the solution would come in his mind. And he had the most patents of anybody in history. So what

Loral Langemeier:

happened was he was triggering that in that and we all have this experience. We wake up from a dream and we have this breakthrough, and then we forget to write it down. And later I had that dream I had that. You know, that's why I always recommend people have something either recorded into your phone

Loral Langemeier:

with your voice or write it down on a piece of paper, because your brain is always trying to solve your life's problems, or it's trying to make your problems better. And some people wake up and they don't get out of bed till they have enough catastrophe to motivate their cortisol levels, the

Loral Langemeier:

norepinephrine and dopamine, to jump out of bed and go but no, now you should be a little nervous in the morning. That's not a problem, because it's biologically what we need. We have something called the cortisol curve. But then as we go through the day, about two o'clock in the afternoon, it's

Loral Langemeier:

going to be low, because our temperature drops two degrees in our brain resets. That's why most people, if you read about in the history of time, they would take naps in the afternoon. Well, we don't have time for that, so that's where the brain tap comes in with a 20 minute. That's where they can

Loral Langemeier:

listen to your millionaire maker, because that's when you need the when we did a study at Google and Microsoft, they contacted me after covid, and they said, Julia art, who's actually there in Reno she came by and talked to me there. She ran the study. She lives in Lake Tahoe area, and she did a study

Loral Langemeier:

with Google and Microsoft with us, and in what we she said, What can we do to get these people over the hump? And I said, Well, number one, have them do a brain tap session at two o'clock in the afternoon. Well, all these programmers said, no way. We can't. We can't take 20 minutes off. We can't do

Loral Langemeier:

that in I couldn't tell him about Stephen Covey's book, you know, sharpening the saw and how you can cut down trees faster. But that's really the analogy. And I said, No, give me two weeks, and I guarantee you will not stop doing it. So this group, we part of the group, said they weren't going to do

Loral Langemeier:

it. We said, okay, you can be our control group. The other group did the 20 minute brain tap. What amazed them after two weeks is we realized the group that was doing brain tech got 26% more work done every day than the group that didn't, because they had a fresh mind. We reset the cortisol curve, and

Loral Langemeier:

then it crashed around 10 o'clock, which is perfect. Now you can go to bed and you can make more melatonin, and your liver can get cleaned at 11 and, you know, start the circadian clock again. Because these our biological system is designed for the Serengeti, not for inside offices and buildings.

Loral Langemeier:

We're meant to be outside, walking and moving and doing these things. But that one change, you know, when you think about for productivity, you know, in peak performance moments too. We have a lot of the athletes that were in the Olympics. I was so impressed with a lot of brain tap news. I

Loral Langemeier:

asked them to have the brain tap out there, but they didn't have, you know, like the Bobsledders and things like that. They but you you have to recover. So think of this in your life, especially when you're an entrepreneur. If you just go, go, go, and you do coffee and sugar and all these stimulants.

Loral Langemeier:

Pretty soon, your biological system is going to give out, and that's where the expire, you know, your retired, expired comes in. You. You are the Lamborghini you need to take care of. Don't feed it like it's a Hugo, you know, we need to, we need to. We need to feed our body good thoughts, good ideas,

Loral Langemeier:

good foods, movement. And then when you get that money that you can capitalize on and you can now. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want to do it. You know, they call fu money or whatever. You know. Now you have a body that actually can enjoy it. You know, these bodies, they Dave Asprey, I'm

Loral Langemeier:

going to his conference here at the end of May. He says that we should live 120 years old. So I'm only middle aged right now, you know. So, you know, I plan on, I plan on, I plan on being around and being able to play with my great, great grandkids like I play with my grandkids.

Loral Langemeier:

So, Patrick, we had to wrap up. I have you back so you keep going, because I have like 10 more questions we're going to get to, we're going to wrap for now. Talk a little bit about the brain tap, how the million America work is in it. I want to put more of that work in it.

Loral Langemeier:

Dr. Patrick Porter: One thing is, it, a lot of people think reading books or going to seminars is going to change their life, and it could. They could have that one spark that says, Wow, that changed my life. But the reality is, if you and I could go around and soak up motivation from from these

Loral Langemeier:

seminars, we'd be millionaires, because most of it's left there in the chair, because it's just knowledge. Right knowledge applied is power. So what we do with with brain tap, when We took your book, The Millionaire maker, we said, what are the key ingredients of a millionaire? How do they think? What do they

Loral Langemeier:

respond? How do they interact? And you gave me the content, and we put together scripting, and now they can go to that inventive level and that intuitive level and hardwired in, because in order to do something perfectly, they say it takes over 5000 times of doing something. Well, nobody has

Loral Langemeier:

that. Now it's about speed to market, right? It's also speed idea to ideation, to creation to delivery. How fast can we do it? We need to get this information downloaded into our brain. And I love it. Years ago, I was being interviewed on TV, and they go, he main lines this information into your subconscious, and

Loral Langemeier:

that's really what it is, because you're if we can get while you're listening to those sessions, one new thought each time you listen, your whole brain has to rewire around that thought. So if we can identify some of those blocks, resolve those blocks, now you're opened up to possibility. Now you start

Loral Langemeier:

using that information, and just like those Googlers and Microsoft programmers, we can get you becoming more efficient with your time, your energy and your effort. And there's nothing better than taking something that's been proven to work you, like your millionaire maker program, and now people can can

Loral Langemeier:

implement it on a daily basis, because you're going to we need you to recover. So this is one of the things. And you could listen to the 10 minute sessions in the morning to 20 minutes in the afternoon, and then we even have sleep sessions where they can go to sleep, you know, programming their mind. Because,

Loral Langemeier:

you know your your brain never sleeps. Your most people don't know this, but you do more neurological functions while you sleep than when you're awake. So you're actually smarter when you're sleeping, you know, so, so imagine we've, we've all had the experience before going to bed. A movie starts in our

Loral Langemeier:

dreams become that movie. Imagine you take the millionaire maker information and you incorporate it into your dreams. Now you've got the world's greatest computer working on solving your problems, giving you solutions, keeping those perceptual filters down. So opportunities that exist, you're

Loral Langemeier:

open to them. That's what we're talking about.

Loral Langemeier:

Oh, it's beautiful. So if you go to brain tap, com forward, slash Laurel, you can download the app. It'll take you to actually get the device. And when they get the device, tell them a little bit what they're going to do. I cannot encourage you enough to get the device. Both my kids

Loral Langemeier:

have it. I have it, right?

Loral Langemeier:

Dr. Patrick Porter: What you do is you put it on it looks like virtual reality kind of but your eyes are closed, it does retinal flashing. Now, the reason for that is you have more mitochondria in the eyes in any other area of the body, so it's going to absorb that light energy. And your eyes aren't

Loral Langemeier:

just attached to your brain. Their brain matter. So when somebody says, Wow, you got beautiful eyes, they're saying, Wow, you got a beautiful brain, you know, but that light goes in and keeps your frontal cortex operating. Because we what we found in our 30,000 scans is that over 99% of the people we

Loral Langemeier:

scanned before doing brain tap, when they close their eyes, they shut down 30% of their brain. So you want to keep your brain active, and you want to give it energy, fuel in the form of light, which creates nitric oxide, release vasodilation, blood flow, circulation, and that will help your brain think

Loral Langemeier:

clear, perform better. And you know, sleep better is the main thing you know that we we find people tell us, and when you sleep better, you can conquer your world much better, because you have more energy,

Loral Langemeier:

absolutely so again, go to the brain. Tap com, forward, slash Laurel, l, O, R, a, l, grab the app, get a device and start listening to it. Give them a little instruction to listen once a day, twice a day. What's their instruction as they I

Loral Langemeier:

Dr. Patrick Porter: always recommend that you listen to it three times a day, at first, if you can, and then if you miss something, it's no problem. But the morning up regulates, keeps your body going, like having a digital cup of coffee. We call it digital coffee. It gets you, get you going in the middle of

Loral Langemeier:

the day to the reboot, that's the best time to listen to those millionaire makers series, because you still have work to do during the day, and you can start implementing those. And then at night, do a Delta training to put you to sleep. And we do have a quick start guide. And then you just would

Loral Langemeier:

replace the afternoon sessions with the with the millionaire maker series. Perfect.

Loral Langemeier:

Patrick, it's great to have you on Loral's Real Money Talks again. We'll have you back as always, and we will see you at our big table in April. Those of you listening, go to ask world.com A, S, K, L, O, R, a, l, ask a question, make a request. We'll be back next Friday with another podcast.

Loral Langemeier:

Patrick, any final words that you want to say to our listeners from all over the world?

Loral Langemeier:

Dr. Patrick Porter: Yeah, just remember, you can get that app for free, so the only thing you're losing out is better sleep tonight, so you can start tonight. Just go there right now and and find it out. The worst thing can happen is nothing, but the best thing can happen is everything. So let's, let's open

Loral Langemeier:

up the possibilities. Perfect.

Loral Langemeier:

Thank you. It's great to have you and all of you, thanks for listening. Make sure you hit that notification button while you subscribe. So I'm here every Friday morning with you, have a great day.

Loral Langemeier:

We're just gonna say it's off. Okay. So how do you so going forward? I mean, do we? Are we gonna do more than just brain? Uh. The brain training in July, which I will be in North Carolina for. So you can count on

Loral Langemeier:

Dr. Patrick Porter: me there. Yeah, I've talked to the team. They're supposed to get back with me on those where we can have you on as a guest for virtual Yeah, yeah, twice a month, and I just haven't heard back because I I had to go to India again for 11 days. The big things are happening there for

Loral Langemeier:

us. So that's awesome, trying to get other people that can speak, but they always seem to want me. So, you know, so but, yeah, I'll get that done. I'll get with the turn in Michael and they can set it up with you.

Loral Langemeier:

Okay, I appreciate it. And when are you coming in? You guys coming in Sunday night? Yeah, we'll come in early. Yeah, okay, that way you can with Muriel and the team and make sure they're set to the process so you can be focused, but you're gonna also gonna start at the mornings, right? So

Loral Langemeier:

I can plan that perfect. All right. Appreciate you. Thank you. All right, talk soon. Thank you. Bye.
