On this podcast episode, we discuss the miracle Jesus performed when he healed a man possessed by a legion of demons (Luke 8:26-39). When Jesus heals the man possessed by a legion of demons, we are given insight to the spiritual battleground for miracles and the hierarchy and supremacy of God's power. The legion of demons dwelling in the man immediately recognizes Jesus' authority, asks for respite and mentions a time to come that they will not be able to afflict the people of God. The miracles performed by Jesus are supernatural and the performance of miracles takes place on both the spiritual and physical plane. Jesus has said that miracles are of the spirit of God. The bible also says we are to be filled with the holy spirit. We should actively pursue the holy spirit and not open the door to other spirits to dwell in us/our lives. We are able to recognize these spirits by the fruits we bear (see Galatians 5:22). However, no matter what spirits and forces are at war to influence our lives, we know Jesus' authority is not limited, God is lord over all realms. We serve a God that transcends all time, space, matter principles and can bring healing and miracles to us completely, fully and unrestrained.
