The snow cover at the NSW resorts is fantastic at the moment, I had a great day going all over Perisher yesterday. There was the teeny tiniest spattering of something from the clouds in the early arvo, otherwise it didn’t snow but remained cool in the mountains - or what you’d call cold anywhere else in Australia!

Right now it’s a beautiful clear morning at the resorts. Through the day, it’s going to be partly cloudy, and I doubt you’ll even notice the wind. There’s a max temp of 3 predicted at Thredbo top station, so that means a bit warmer down towards the village. It’ll be a maximum of 5 degrees in perisher valley, so a bit cooler higher up on the lifts. Charlotte Pass is also predicted to be a top of 5 Degrees.

Partly cloudy also means partly sunny, so remember to put sunscreen on, particularly between 10am and 2pm today.

You should be fine on the roads to both Perisher and Thredbo, but as the weekend is approaching it’ll be getting busier, so please be patient up there. You still need to carry snow chains by law, unless you’re in a 4WD… and the police do check sometimes, issuing $300+ fines if you don’t have them. And gee, that costs even more than a day pass for the snow this year!

Looking towards the weekend…. Saturday , which is tomorrow, looks to be beautiful and sunny. Though things may well change on Sunday, with the chance of rain - or hopefully snow. With any luck, it’ll be snow and may continue on and off through to Tuesday.
