Hi, I'm Bill Sikkens, host of User

2

:

Friendly 2.0 Saturdays here on the answer

with this week's Tech Wednesday.

3

:

As we continue forward into the holiday

shopping season,

4

:

we are seeing a number of new scams

pop up and some replace on some old ones.

5

:

We've already talked about this

a couple of times,

6

:

but there's some new twists out there

that you need to be aware of.

7

:

One thing that we're seeing

is really something that's been around

8

:

for a long time.

9

:

The idea of, would you like to buy a watch

from a man on the street corner?

10

:

We're seeing the same type of thing pop up

in parking lots at some of the big box

11

:

retailers, mostly electronic stores

or that type of a thing.

12

:

You go in

and somebody is in the parking lot selling

13

:

something at a price

that is too good to be true.

14

:

And it turns out it is.

15

:

They're very good at what they do.

16

:

And if you buy the product from them,

you'll be out $500 or so.

17

:

And this is usually audio

equipment projectors that type of thing.

18

:

What do you get at home.

19

:

You will get a device, but it's not going

to be what you were expecting.

20

:

This week on User Friendly

21

:

2.0, we're going to be talking about this

and other holiday scams to look out for.
