When they found Him, they said to Him, “Everyone is looking
for You.” 38 But He said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.”
Mark. Jesus. Mark 1:37–38
Hey, I’m Nathan, and this is Day 25 of 30 Days Watching Jesus. Jesus never lost sight of his mission, becoming content to simply settle down in one location. He always saw the bigger picture—the need for the kingdom message and principles to expand beyond any place they already were. So he kept going. Kept seeing new fields and moving into them. He was truly, a ‘purpose-driven’ Savior. What about us? We often prefer the comfort of known terrain. The comfort of the familiar— whether places, people or circumstances—yet these very comforts can inevitably become the demise of our mission. While it’s perfectly fine to enjoy them—we must not enjoy them to the expense of our purpose. Of God’s purpose for us.
