There’s an old saying from the 1700’s, originally credited to writer Christopher Bullock that says, “Tis impossible to be sure of anything but Death & Taxes.” Ha!
And I think an argument could still be made that there are plenty of folks that don’t pay their taxes, but one thing for sure, is that none of us are escaping a physical death.
So after the recent loss of a beloved friend, I got to thinking once again about how if today were to be my last, would my daily actions be a symbol of how I would want to be remembered?
Here’s the thing, we never know when the last exhale is coming. Not for us or for the people, pets and places we love and care about.
Today on The Karen Kenney Show, we’re taking a look at how things might be if we knew when to expect our last moment here on this earth. How would that knowledge affect our actions & our reactions? If your life were to be remembered by your final thoughts, words, behaviors & choices…. How would we want our last day to go?
Just because we don’t know when to expect the very end, for ourselves and others, doesn’t mean that we can’t live consciously as though we were dying. I mean this in a positive love-based way and not a fearful way.
So, if we have that chance to say, “I love you” or “I’m sorry”, please take it. If we have the opportunity to extend some grace, mercy & forgiveness toward someone in our lives (including ourselves), or to live in thankfulness & gratitude for what we have, I hope we’ll all enthusiastically take it.
May we be courageous enough to take it every day, because the truth is we don’t know when it will be The Last Breath.
