Tuesday, May 5th, Final

It’s an incredible promise which is made to us by Jesus today:

“The sheep that belong to me listen to my voice;

I know them and they follow me.

I give them eternal life;

they will never be lost

and no one will ever steal them from me.”

This is an incredible opportunity for security for us. Each time we are faced with a hard situation, anxiety, frustrations, a crazy boss, exasperating children, people or a world flipped upside-down - if, in that situation, we rechoose Christ and place our faith in him, no matter how appalling the situation: we will never be lost. There is only one good certainty in life: Christ. He is the one true rock, the sole possible foundation stone for a founded life. When we have been placed in him, we are at the heart of the unassailable creator. For again as he says, 

“The Father who gave them to me is greater than anyone,

and no one can steal from the Father.

The Father and I are one.’”

Let us pray:

“Grant, we pray, almighty God,

that, celebrating the mysteries of the Lord’s Resurrection,

we may merit to receive the joy of our redemption.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,

who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever.”
