What keeps you from choosing yourself? In this heartfelt episode, Wendy explores the emotional blocks that cause so many women to hide their voice, question their worth, and shrink away from their true power. She shares her own experiences with fear, self-doubt, and the longing to live authentically, reminding listeners that vulnerability is not a weakness—it's often the doorway to the life they're meant to live.
Through stories, reflections, and gentle encouragement, you'll discover why speaking up, trusting yourself, and taking even one small step toward your truth can create profound change. If you've ever felt like you're "not enough" or worried that your voice doesn't matter, this episode will remind you that you don't have to walk this journey alone. Your authentic self is needed, your voice deserves to be heard, and choosing yourself is the first step toward living the life your soul is calling you to.
The Shift Beneath the Words:
Wendy reminds listeners that vulnerability is part of the journey, not a sign to stop. While not everyone will understand or connect with your authentic self, the people who are meant to be in your life and support your mission will. By choosing authenticity over approval, you naturally attract "your people."

Speaker:If you are a woman who is seeking to live a more authentic life
Speaker:but are feeling not enough to step out fully just yet, you are in the right place.
Speaker:If you are a woman who is looking to live your personal truth
Speaker:and make the impact you truly desire, you are in the right place.
Speaker:I'm your host, Wendy Yacboski. Let's step out in this together.
Speaker:I can only speak for myself. When I go into the deepest part of myself, I get so darn scared.
Speaker:It's like I want to cry. It's like I want to run away. It's like, I can't do this.
Speaker:But I want to. I need to do this. And I want to do it for all of us.
Speaker:There's just something that is so scary that says you can't speak from the deepest part of you,
Speaker:Wendy, because if you go to the deepest part of you and you don't get validated for it,
Speaker:then it's almost like I'm not valuable. Do you feel like that ever when you want to speak from
Speaker:the depths of you because it matters so much, but you're afraid that you're going to somehow
Speaker:fall on your face in terms of who wants to listen to me? This matters to me. I need to say it. I
Speaker:want to say it. You know, one of the things I've noticed is that when I'm teaching for
Speaker:Canadian Mental Health Association in a program called Living Life to the Full,
Speaker:what I've noticed is, and yes, sometimes I have difficulty hearing, but what I've really noticed
Speaker:is that so many women, any age, talk so quietly. They think they're speaking loudly.
Speaker:They think that they are speaking powerfully, but they are hiding. They are hiding behind
Speaker:a quiet voice that takes their power away. It doesn't allow them to speak up,
Speaker:and I'm one example of somebody listening to them. What about other people that want to hear them
Speaker:like I do, and I can't? Maybe other people can't too, and are they thinking,
Speaker:nobody wants to hear what I have to say? It's not the truth. People do want to hear
Speaker:what you have to say, but you need to speak up, and in speaking up, what I'm finding even right
Speaker:now as I'm speaking to you is that the more I speak up, the more powerful I feel,
Speaker:and the more powerful I feel, the more I want to share with you, the more I want you to hear what
Speaker:I have to say, and that is that I care about you, that I care about you living the life that is
Speaker:calling you from your soul. I care about you being able to look in the mirror, and if you did just
Speaker:one small thing today that helped you express your soul in a greater way, that is like the most
Speaker:huge success that you could ever have. Maybe one thing a day, maybe one thing every two days,
Speaker:no one's judging, but you get to look in the mirror and say to yourself, I am for me.
Speaker:I am acting on what's important to me, and that is what I want to be able to help you with
Speaker:in these episodes, is seeing that there is hope. Is it not so easy to go, there is no hope,
Speaker:I can't do this, I'm just going to stop right here and right now and just forget the whole thing.
Speaker:I know what that feels like, I truly, truly do, but there's something stronger than that,
Speaker:and that's that calling that we each have to show up, not to show up and be someone that we're not,
Speaker:but to show up and be who we are, and yes, I get it. Others have not maybe thought that that was
Speaker:the greatest thing, or they have ideas about what you should be doing to show up right in your life
Speaker:and to be successful in your life, but what if they are wrong? What if who you are, what you
Speaker:want to do, and how you want to do it is all that matters, all that matters, and yes, it takes
Speaker:practice, it takes people who believe in you, this is who we're going to be looking for,
Speaker:it takes people who believe in you that say, I'll take your hand, I'll be there with you,
Speaker:I appreciate who you are, it has helped me so much,
Speaker:and when we have that, when we don't think, I need to do this alone, when we know that
Speaker:we don't do anything alone, then we can move forward with the support that we deserve
Speaker:to follow that calling, whatever that is for us. I believe that we are born with,
Speaker:I want to say purpose, but I'm going to call back from that a little bit. I think we're born with
Speaker:an affinity to do things in a certain, when I say in a certain way, in our way, like maybe
Speaker:how we listen to someone, maybe how we talk to someone, maybe how we hold someone, whatever that
Speaker:is, that is from us. I just had a couple of women tell me just in the past two or three days,
Speaker:the difference that I've made in their lives, and it was only by listening to them,
Speaker:believing in them, and you know what, they didn't tell me, Wendy, I need you to believe in me,
Speaker:they were just sharing with me what was important to them, and that is what I'm hoping,
Speaker:that eventually I can hear what's important to you, so that I can see you, I can hear you,
Speaker:you can know that I believe in you, and that what you want is absolutely possible,
Speaker:absolutely possible. So if you are feeling afraid to say something that feels a little bit vulnerable
Speaker:to you, that feels a little bit out there, that feels a little bit risque, I want to invite you
Speaker:to continue listening to these episodes, because you are going to hear not only about me,
Speaker:but you are going to hear about others that I know, very strong, very powerful women that also
Speaker:sometimes feel vulnerable, feel like maybe what I'm going to say or going to do is not going to
Speaker:be received really well, these are not things that we are alone with, they're almost like,
Speaker:what's the word, it's something that we need to go through to get to the other side,
Speaker:and what you will find is that there will be people that absolutely get you,
Speaker:and those are your people. Welcome. I am so happy you're here for this podcast series,
Speaker:and I look forward to being with you each time we come together.
