If you've been recently diagnosed with ADHD and /or Autism, asking for reasonable adjustments at work is your right. Knowing what to ask for can feel challenging, especially if you're the first one to do so or your place of employment doesn't feel so neurodiverse-friendly yet. This week's episode hopes to offer you the insights to advocate for yourself and ask for what you need.

This week's guest is Hester Grainger, a neurodiversity consultant, co-founder of Perfectly Autistic and Perfectly ADHD, a radio presenter and former TV presenter diagnosed with ADHD in her forties.

Together with her husband Kelly, who is autistic and has ADHD, they run their neurodiversity consultancy, which works with organisations to raise awareness and acceptance of neurodiversity in the workplace and works with parents and education settings around autism and ADHD.

Hester is also mum to her two children, who are autistic and have ADHD.

On today's The ADHD Women's Wellbeing Podcast, Kate and Hester talk about:

  • Navigating ADHD and autism in your family dynamic
  • Being diagnosed as a parent
  • Homeschooling ADHD and autistic children
  • Reasonable adjustments in the workplace
  • Making allowances for all at work, not just those who ask for it
  • Live TV and radio offering the dopamine and adrenaline hit
  • Correlating high-pressure industries to undiagnosed ADHD
  • Gut decisions vs impulsive decisions
  • Speaking to your employer about ADHD
  • Sensory processing at work
  • Handling negative attitudes toward neurodiversity at work
  • How your workplace can be more neurodiverse friendly
  • How to look after our energy and be in burnout prevention mode
