When you’re changing colors, tempting as it is to try to get away with one coat, 2 coats are always better. I’m Dan Hansen and this is a Minute at RepcoLite.

I’ve got 5 reasons for this and the first one we covered yesterday: basically: that first coat might not be as good as you think once you see it in better lighting and after it dries.

The second reason is similar: 2 Coats ALWAYS give better results. And by that I mean, better color representation, a better look, and better durability and washability. Two coats last longer and look beter.

Thirdly–and this one’s really KEY: It’s just more convenient to put that second coat on right away. The furniture’s moved. The drop cloths are down. The tape is applied. Your tools are out. If you just let that first coat dry for a few hours and go around the room one more time, it’s not such a big deal. If you put everything away and find you need a second coat . . . it’s like a brand new project. You’ve got to get everything out again and that’s a lot of unnecessary work.

I’ve got 2 more reasons and we’ll get to those tomorrow. I’m Dan Hansen and that’s a minute at RepcoLite.
