Shownotes

"I never look for clients. I look for people to love, opportunities to serve, and problems to solve. I do that in order or on purpose because love is something I do unilaterally." - Kellan Fluckiger

During the discussion, you'll discover:

Giving service to people is not just serving them; you must learn how to love them, as you would your family or a friend.

I can love people without their permission or consent. My goal is to come from a place of love all the time, with every word and every interaction. Find people to love and opportunities to serve them. You need to know a little bit about the situation or context before you might appreciate what meaningful service is. You do this without expectation of a return on your investment.

I don't look for clients because …

I look for people to love and opportunities to serve. I need to get to know people before I can see if there's an opportunity to serve or be of service. I go into a situation to see if I can solve their problem(s). If I can solve their problems, then we can talk about setting up a coaching arrangement. They have to have an experience with me that is so profound and powerful that the next logical step for them is to engage in a formal coaching arrangement with me. I'm never looking for clients, only people to serve and problems to solve - that's it.

Three parts

The first part is we're built to serve. We're created to help. Part two is overcoming selfishness. Part three can be confusing for some, as they confuse serving someone with being a doormat, or having someone take advantage of you. That's not true. Serving people doesn't mean saying yes to everybody all the time.

My closing remarks

Serve others without the expectation of reciprocity. I have three power words that I live by: love, create, serve. By both identifying those power words and then choosing to live into them, consciously every day, has helped me quickly move toward creating my ultimate life.

Key Takeaways:

There are lots of ways to do good, be helpful, add value, and win. And there is an absolute need for truthful and honest feedback so that we have a sense of whether or not what we're doing matters.

Sometimes the best form of service is to be honest with someone and give them some constructive help.

If you love someone, that doesn't mean you have to be involved with them or family or anything else if you have their highest and best interest at heart. Be kind and generous, and provide honest feedback.
