In the third week of messages from the theme 'We value New Life', Ps Carla speaks today about Grace and Truth. her message focuses n how Jesus treated people, how He may treat us and how grace and truth may impact our lives.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV) says "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." Things happen to us from the inside out when we are saved by God. Only our Saviours kindness and love saves us, washes away our sins. This is because of His grace, He made us right in His sight and gave us confidence that we could inherit eternal life. In John 1:14 we see the scripture speaking of Jesus being full of grace and truth.
The Pharisees & Sadducees constantly came to try and test Jesus to push him to trip him up, because of the grace that he showed to people. In those situations, we see our wise Jesus continue to speak truth, continue to speak grace as they challenged Him, reaching the very heart of them.
Ps Carla continues to examine scriptures illustrating how Jesus dealt with people with not grace but also truth, the woman at the well, the woman caught in adultery, scripture abounds in such examples.
We are all loved enough to be changed. Truth may diagnose the problem but grace comes along and brings the healing, it's both, it's not either!!
