Communication 101: Loving Well
The Five Love Languages
God is love, and we’re capable of showing love because we’re created in His image and likeness. We all desire to be loved and have different ways that we want to receive and give out love, and understanding our love language and other people's love languages will help us show them love in a way that makes them feel loved, not the way we think they ought to. Everybody has different love languages, and it is important to recognize that and meet them where they are, just as we expect them to meet us where we are. Expressing our love to others start with spending time with Jesus, developing a relationship, accepting the gifts, and allowing love to flow into our relationships. We receive love first from God and then from others
Join today’s Therapy Thursday conversation with me, Lisa, and my friend Dr. Lidia Martinez as we dive into the fourth part of the series of Building Better Relationships. We have been referencing the fruit of the Holy Spirit from Galatians 5, but today, we will focus on the five love languages (Acts of service, Physical touch, Giving, Words of affirmation, and Quality time) by Gary Chapman, which are based on the biblical attributes of God and how you can use them to build better relationships.
