When we set big goals it's incredibly exciting and motivating. But the challenge with big goals is the scale of them. At the end of each day it's hard to feel as though you've made any real impact. That can make you feel demotivated, which is dangerous when you hit a setback.
Getting 8 hours sleep every single night doesn't sound like it would add up to a big goal, does it? But for elite athletes, checking that box can be the difference between qualifying and not. Placing and not. Winning and not.
Every big goal is made up of micro-steps–there's no 0 to 100 option. So what I need you to do is to flip your mindset. Start celebrating every micro-step. Start celebrating each milestones, even if they're not a win. Remember that every 'no' you hear is getting you one step closer to your next 'yes.'
By making your plan and sticking faithfully to the micro-steps, you're winning. Celebrating each step is guaranteed to help you #bethebestyoucanbe

Welcome to mindset Monday by the Sales IQ podcast.
Luigi Prestinenzi:I'm your host, Luigi Prestinenzi, and I'm here to help you be the best you can be.
Luigi Prestinenzi:Everyone has a potential to be the best version of themselves they can be.
Luigi Prestinenzi:Sometimes things prevent us from capitalizing on that awesomeness that
Luigi Prestinenzi:is sitting dormant inside of you.
Luigi Prestinenzi:This podcast is about helping you unlock that potential by focusing
Luigi Prestinenzi:on one thing that can help you be the very best you can be.
Luigi Prestinenzi:"When you set a goal, your brain opens up a task list."
Luigi Prestinenzi:That is a quote by Mel Robbins.
Luigi Prestinenzi:And why is it my quote for this week?
Luigi Prestinenzi:For every goal that we set the actual term goal represents, or can represent,
Luigi Prestinenzi:something quite big, something quite large, you know, it's something
Luigi Prestinenzi:that we really want to achieve.
Luigi Prestinenzi:It's a big thing.
Luigi Prestinenzi:And often the requirement and the journey to get there can be long and drawn out.
Luigi Prestinenzi:And we can sometimes forget to set those micro steps.
Luigi Prestinenzi:Those key tasks that allow us to progress towards that ultimate outcome.
Luigi Prestinenzi:And even when we do set those micro steps, because the goal itself might
Luigi Prestinenzi:be quite a big goal, we sometimes forget to celebrate the success.
Luigi Prestinenzi:Those key steps that we're taking in the right direction.
Luigi Prestinenzi:And then when we hit a wall or we find we've hit a bit of a slump or
Luigi Prestinenzi:a challenge, we can sometimes get de-motivated because we feel as though
Luigi Prestinenzi:we haven't accomplished anything.
Luigi Prestinenzi:And this is where that task list is so crucial.
Luigi Prestinenzi:And one of the focuses I want you to make after listening to this podcast
is:think about those micro steps that you're taking each and every day towards
is:an outcome, and celebrate those steps.
is:Tick them off.
is:Give yourself a pat on the back.
is:Give yourself that recognition that you are making a positive step forward.
is:That you are making progress.
is:And even when you might not make a positive step forward.
is:Think about sales.
is:Sometimes you don't get the sale.
is:Sometimes you get a 'no,' celebrate it.
is:Embrace.
is:Enjoy it, because guess what?
is:In order to progress forward, in order to achieve that outcome, in
is:order to get more sales, you're going to have to get that rejection.
is:You're going to have to get a no.
is:You're going to have to hear it.
is:It's not a matter of saying, "Well, no, I'm not going to hear those nos."
is:They're there and you have to embrace it.
is:And instead of having a "no" become a negative word, used the
is:"no" to become a positive word.
is:Embrace it, embrace the "no" for what it is, embrace the
is:learning that can come from it.
is:And this is what my whole premise for this episode all about.
is:We want to celebrate the big things and we want to enjoy the big goals
is:that we're able to achieve, but we're missing out on so much more.
is:We're missing out on celebrating those small micro steps that
is:are absolutely essential in achieving that ultimate objective.
is:You know, if you think about it from a sports perspective, if you think
is:about an athlete, think about when we see them on the big day and we
is:see them on the game days, or the big competitions, or the big games.
is:But you know what?
is:They've already achieved so much success that week leading
is:up, that month leading up.
is:They've trained every single day.
is:They've eaten well, they've slept well, they've put in place those
is:micro-commitments that allow them to achieve that ultimate objective.
is:And that's one of the things I want you to think about this week.
is:And not just this week, but each and every week.
is:In the pursuit of, most of us working in sales, have annual goals and
is:those annual goals can be quite big.
is:And to break it up, we might break it into quarters or months, some of us into
is:days, but really think about that list.
is:Think about even writing it down.
is:The power of writing your to-do list down, getting that goal sheet, breaking it down.
is:What are the tasks that I need to do?
is:And ticking it with a pen on a piece of paper.
is:Yep, absolutely old school.
is:But guess what?
is:It triggers something in the mind for you to feel good when you feel
is:like you've accomplished something.
is:Because at the end of the day, the one recognition that we need to get is not
is:from anybody else, but it's from ourself.
is:We are our own worst critic and we are our own best cheerleader.
is:And that is what I want you to think about this week, and each
is:and every week, as you are on that journey to achieve something great.
is:So if this is the message that's resonated for you or someone,
is:you know, needs to hear this, please like, rate, and share this.
is:I create this content to help you be the very best you can be.
