Mackinac is open year round it just is a different vibe during the winter months as not as much is open. But definitely a place to go to relax with a good book, snow shoes or attend the Christmas tree lighting.

Located on the crystal blue waters of Lake Huron lies Mackinac Island.
Heather:She is tucked in between Michigan's upper and lower peninsulas.
Heather:Indulge me as I share all the ins and outs of the place that stole my heart.
Heather:This is totally Mackinac Island.
Heather:Hello and welcome to Totally Mackinac Island Podcast.
Heather:I am your host, Heather.
Heather:I hope you all are doing well.
Heather:I got our decorations all up and I'm kind of glad because it ended up kind of being a poopy weekend.
Heather:And it was nice when I did it last week so I didn't have to worry about my hands getting super dry and cold, although they are already starting to get really dry.
Heather:So I actually ended up moving my salon to a different salon prior to beginning of next year.
Heather:So it's been a little crazy this week.
Heather:So unfortunately I have been lacking on information available on Instagram, but it's kind of okay because it's not peak season.
Heather:So I share what I can.
Heather:But what I wanted to come on here today though, and talk about is the winter information because whether or not we like it, it is here.
Heather:Now.
Heather:How I'm gonna say this is that this is probably gonna be my last podcast of the year.
Heather:With that being said, because of me moving the salon, my hours are just kind of all over the place and I do not know when I'm going to have time to really sit down and do the shows for the rest of the year.
Heather:And I just thought I better just make this the last one.
Heather:Just has been a little more hectic.
Heather:It always is this time of year as it is for everyone with Christmas and Thanksgiving and then moving salons, it's just.
Heather:And when I do that, because I do booth rental, it's not difficult to do that.
Heather:It's just readjusting to the location, figuring out everything, you know, just getting comfortable again.
Heather:Super excited though, for the new place I'm going to.
Heather:And it's a cute little house.
Heather:It reminds me of this one salon I was at many, many years ago and it just has just a different environment.
Heather:And not again that the other one was bad.
Heather:There wasn't any of that.
Heather:It just.
Heather:This works better for me as far as booth running options, so going to be able to add a few more hours with that.
Heather:So with that being said, I'm going to go into this saying that this is the last one.
Heather:Now, I could surprise you and have an opportunity to record another one, but I just don't want to put that out there that I'm going to because I don't know how that's going to happen.
Heather:So I wanted to go into the winter information that is available right now because I feel it's important for you to know if you do not go on to mackinacland.org this is where I get a lot of my information from.
Heather:It's the tourism page up at the top they have in bold red winter information.
Heather:They had that with the ferry information when that was going all on.
Heather:So I'm just going to go off of what they are sharing on here.
