Shownotes

This week’s guest is Bob Burg, author and speaker. You may know him from the book series he co-wrote with John David Mann, The Go-Giver.

The Go-Giver is a business parable that illustrates shifting your focus from getting to giving. In it, there are five laws of stratospheric success that are presented through characters. The laws are value, compensation, influence, authenticity and receptivity.

In this brief episode, we chat about the book and all five values including which value is hardest for people to fulfil. The chat provided great insight for those who have read The Go-Giver and those who haven’t yet.

Bob also shares what took him from his work in sales to becoming an author. His first book was Endless Referrals. When he isn’t speaking and writing, Bob fosters animals, working to bring about awareness on the treatment of animals and works with Furry Friends.

Note from Rabiah (Host):

When Bob agreed to sit down and chat with me, I was truly chuffed! The Go-Giver is a book I read after it was recommended to me a few times, once by someone who said I seemed to be living the values. That was a high compliment. In this chat, Bob redefined charitable giving for me and changed how I’ll talk about giving in the future. The perspective we came to on receptivity was enlightening as well. It is a short episode with a lot of ah-ha moments packed in so enjoy!
