What part of the world are you in?

I'm here in Kenya.

How did you come to meet Jesus?

I grew up in the family that knows Jesus, but that one did not be the reason why I joined, I received Jesus.

When I was growing up, actually, I grew up in Rwanda.

I'm biologically from Rwanda, so I grew up in Rwanda and from there, when I was growing up, like when I was in secondary school, it was a day I was very sick and just one lady came to the hospital and she told me about Jesus and I decided now to personally give my life to Jesus Christ and that one was 2006.

That is when I decided to give my life to Christ fully.

How did things change after you made that decision?

The first miracle I received is that I was sick and immediately, actually, it did not even take two hours.

I was healed and I was discharged from the hospital.

So that is the first miracle Jesus did for me when I received him in the hospital.

Then from there also, my life started changing, though the next year my father died, but after that, all the challenges I was passing through, I saw Jesus helping me up to that day.

So I saw something like the first day, I saw something that I could be proud of every day because Jesus helped me from that day.

When did you move across to Kenya?

I came to Kenya, it was 2012.

I came as I was coming to school.

I was coming to do my mass media, I mean my journalism.

So that is when I came to Kenya, but now I ended up in 2017, starting ministry there and there.

I ended up also being here where I am.

What got you into ministry?

What was the trigger that made you decide you wanted to start a ministry?

I will take you back when I received Jesus Christ, I came back home.

So when I came back home, as I told you before, my father died.

So when he died, I could not go back to school.

But now there is this man of God who took me in his house and I started staying with him.

So me staying in the pastor's house, number one, I got a good time to pray.

I got a good time to go for evangelism.

So I was enjoying that climate, especially as a young man who has received Jesus Christ recently.

So as I was doing all the stuff in the pastor's house, I started loving ministry personally.

And then also when it was 2009, that is when the man of God confirmed to me that there is a calling upon your life and you need to start following up, following up.

And two years later, 2011, heading into 2012, that is when he prayed for me and he ordained me as a pastor.

And from that day now, I went on still serving under him, but later on, God promoted me to a new level.

What was life like in between transitioning into full-time ministry?

Was it challenging or did everything connect well?

Actually, it was very challenging because it was not easy on my side, you know.

I did not have income.

I stopped working and I did not have any other income, but there is something I've learned since I received Christ that if God calls you, of course he will provide for his call.

So I was going with that like with that statement, believing God that I know the challenges are there, lacking shoes, lacking food, sleeping outside, and I know the challenges are there.

By the way, if I tell you, challenges were many, very many.

I've slept outside and I was in ministry, I've lacked food, I was in ministry, even lacking shoes, lacking clothes.

There is a time like I stayed more than one year just wearing one trouser, black trouser, white shirt with one shoe.

And that shoe, even the soil of that shoe was like open, like I can't enter your house when it's raining.

So it was not easy, it was challenging, but all in all, I went with that statement that as long as God has called me, he shall provide for his call.

And until God did it for me.

How many shoes do you have now?

I don't know if I can count, but there are around six pairs.

God is amazing, isn't he?

I'm telling you, it's amazing.

Do you have a family now?

Okay, when I came to Kenya, my mother is in Rwanda, of course, and my brother and my two sisters, they are still in Rwanda.

So me, I'm here in Kenya alone, believing God.

Yeah, that is the family I have, but back to Rwanda now.

So are you going to go back to Rwanda, or are you going to stay in Kenya with the ministry that you've started?

Personally, I love Kenya, and Kenya received me, and we have a ministry here.

So I don't see myself going back to, I don't see myself going back to Rwanda.

Okay, what is on the horizon for you?

What is your vision for the church?

Okay, my vision is that I believe God that as long as he's the one who called me, he will make me to serve him right here very well.

And not having multitudes, but having people who are based in the word of God and who are going to heaven.

What is the biggest challenge you have with ministry today?

Yeah, the biggest challenge is provision.

You know, like, for example, here in Africa, especially in Kenya, you find out that there are things that are needed for the gospel to reach people.

But now, as me, I am very limited, because I love going outside, doing crusades, doing evangelism, evangelism with the instrument, doing open airs.

But now, I am limited, because I don't have what it takes.

That is the resources, and that is also the instrument that I need for me to reach people.

I tried, like, recently, I opened street worship, but now it costed a lot of time.

And now, like, I felt like it's not easy to do it already.

So, that is the challenge.

That is the challenge, that we will have something to tell people, like, you can reach to people, but the means of reaching them, it has not been easy on my side.

That is the very serious challenge.

I'm having.

When you think about the challenges that you had, being a young man, coming out with your degree, and deciding that you'd follow Christ, and you see other people in a similar situation, what would you say to them?

Actually, I would tell them that no matter how many degrees, no matter how level of academic background, but the truth is that following Jesus is the best degree any young person can take.

Because what degrees cannot provide, heaven can provide for that person.

What degree cannot protect, heaven can protect it.

And serving God pays.

You cannot serve God in vain.

So, like, I can call out the young people, if it means to abandon everything for Jesus Christ, it was it.

I did it, and I don't regret.

Though there is a challenge, because many people, they mocked me.

Even my family, the first time they could not understand.

Even this one, me, almost two years, like, my mother was very angry with me because I, like, she have tried so that I can go to school, to the level, to that level.

But in her trying, like, I could not meet up her needs.

Like, I could not meet up the direction she wanted me to be.

So, it's challenging, but it was it.

So, as a young person, if you have a call, sit down, ask the Lord for direction, and any direction the Lord is going to give us, we shall take it.

Why?

Because the work of God was our sacrifice.

Yes, sir.

If you're listening to this conversation five years from today, what is a message you would leave for future you listening?

Okay, the message I would leave to the future listening is that, I will repeat again, that serving God has never been in vain, and we are in the last days where things have changed.

We are not in the same world where we were before, and the only thing we need is Jesus, and Jesus having the way, and truth, and life.

So, I can encourage any listener who can listen to this that serving God is not in vain.

If you find yourself as a servant, either part-time or full-time, it is good to obey the voice of God and serve Him diligently because that is the direction to your perfect destiny.
