A higher level of Love is love of Fire thru meditation that nothing has any value in relationship to G-D you want to cleave to the ultimate truth & leave this materialistic world. In order to reach this high level one needs to have יראת חטא have complete סור מרע so that the sins won't hold you back. The Levites in the Temple thru their service had the love of fire but returned to reality if the world. When one is experiencing the Love of fire Torah & Mitzvot draws you back to this world as the mishna says על כרכך אתה חי thru Torah you create a dwelling place here for G-D.
