Shownotes

Join Dr. David Spoon as he explores the fast track to rejuvenation, emphasizing that trust in the Lord is essential for renewing our strength. Drawing from Isaiah 40:28-31, he highlights that while we may grow weary, God never does, and He provides strength to those who acknowledge their need for Him. The discussion also delves into the impact of unacknowledged sin in our lives, which can diminish our courage and confidence. David shares personal insights and encouragement, reminding listeners of the importance of being honest with God about their struggles. Through engaging anecdotes and scriptural references, this episode aims to inspire faith and resilience in the face of life's challenges.

Engaging and heartfelt, the David Spoon Experience takes listeners on an insightful exploration of faith, prayer, and the importance of trust in God. The episode opens with Spoon's charismatic introduction, setting a warm and inviting tone as he prepares the audience for an uplifting discussion on spiritual resilience. He emphasizes the need to remain unafraid as life presents its challenges, drawing from biblical teachings that affirm the Lord as our ultimate source of strength. This foundational message serves as a springboard for a deeper examination of how Jesus instructed His followers to pray, illustrating the significance of communication with God in fostering a strong spiritual life.

A key theme that emerges in the episode is the concept of unacknowledged sin and its implications for spiritual growth. Spoon uses the narrative from the book of Joshua, focusing on Achan's story, to highlight how harboring hidden sin can diminish one's confidence and power in faith. He encourages listeners to confront their shortcomings openly, fostering an environment of honesty and vulnerability. This discussion is further enhanced by the engaging rapport between Spoon and his producer, Jacob, as they infuse humor and lightheartedness into the serious topics, making the content accessible and relatable.

Towards the end of the episode, Spoon shares a personal story about his grandson, Easton, who faces ongoing health challenges. This intimate update serves as a powerful testament to faith and perseverance, reinforcing the idea that God is always present, even in difficult times. Spoon's emotional reflections resonate with the audience, reminding them of the importance of trust and reliance on God for strength and healing. The episode concludes with a strong message from Isaiah 40:28-31, where Spoon underscores that those who trust in the Lord will find renewal and strength, leaving listeners with a sense of hope and encouragement to deepen their faith journey.

Transcripts

David Spoon:

And now for something completely different.

David Spoon:

Here's what's coming up this hour on today's Experience.

David Spoon:

It's fantastic, phenomenal, always fun, usually somewhat fascinating.

David Spoon:

Friday as we head into the weekend, not being afraid, even if the earth gives way or the mountains fall into the seas, because our help comes from the Lord first, anything that Jesus teaches provides an excellent strategy for us to follow.

David Spoon:

Everybody would agree with that.

David Spoon:

When the disciples asked him how they should pray, Jesus gave a very specific answer which might differ from what one might expect.

David Spoon:

While there are certain senses of reverence because we are approaching the Lord God Almighty, there is also another characteristic that must be considered.

David Spoon:

And we will consider it next.

David Spoon:

In every episode, we discuss and talk about the word of God and the truth.

David Spoon:

We address sin from a redemptive perspective, from an overcoming perspective, from a complete deliverance perspective.

David Spoon:

Today we're going to talk about the overcoming aspects simply by looking at the story in the book of Joshua.

David Spoon:

What we find are all the disadvantages of holding on to sin.

David Spoon:

In this case, it's not a matter of salvation.

David Spoon:

It's a matter of prevailing in this journey.

David Spoon:

Much different.

David Spoon:

And finally, have you ever gone on vacation only to return home and think, man, I need a vacation from my vacation?

David Spoon:

We need to be rejuvenated from everything that even rejuvenates us.

David Spoon:

Do you want to take a lucky guess as to where all this comes from?

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

All of this rejuvenation comes from the Creator who started us, who keeps us and who completes us.

David Spoon:

We'll find the fast track to rejuvenation in this final teaching of the week.

David Spoon:

Lessons for surviving living and prevailing politics, entertainment and current events, Personal revelations, spiritual observations, my life's insanities.

David Spoon:

So much more.

David Spoon:

Now, we've told you in the past it's not professional radio.

David Spoon:

And so we want to talk to the big wig of professional radio.

David Spoon:

That's right, the big wig.

David Spoon:

That doesn't mean he's wearing other hair.

David Spoon:

The big wig of professional radio.

David Spoon:

Our Very own Jamin Jacob.

David Spoon:

Jammin Jacob is the David Spoon Experience professional radio.

Jamin Jacob:

No, it is not, David.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

And I like that you have a big wig position and not a big wig.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Anyhow, I could have both.

Jamin Jacob:

I could come in Monday with a big wig on.

David Spoon:

I would like to see that.

David Spoon:

I would take a picture of that and put that on the website.

David Spoon:

I'm just pointing out to you.

David Spoon:

Listen, it's radio, and it's fine.

David Spoon:

It's great.

David Spoon:

It's an opportunity to fellowship with one another.

David Spoon:

That's what it is.

David Spoon:

And to bless one another, encourage one another.

David Spoon:

So here's what we're gonna tell you.

David Spoon:

This is what you can do.

David Spoon:

You can email us.

David Spoon:

We want to know how you're doing.

David Spoon:

You can email us@davidemusincrease.org I will get that.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or you can call us.

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

A telephone.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Talking to Jim and Jacob is just like heading into the weekend.

David Spoon:

Hello.

Jamin Jacob:

Thank you, David.

Jamin Jacob:

Happy Friday.

David Spoon:

Happy Friday to you, my friend.

David Spoon:

I'm gonna tell you right now, the wife and I, because the kids have gone over to their siblings, are gonna be doing another 3D movie night, but we have not yet figured out which movie it's gonna be.

David Spoon:

So we're working on that.

David Spoon:

But it will be back to normal for at least two hours.

Jamin Jacob:

Just for a little bit, right?

David Spoon:

Yeah, just for a little bit.

David Spoon:

And then all disruption will take place after that.

David Spoon:

But I certainly hope you have a wonderful weekend.

David Spoon:

And I'm just assuming that if you don't get to the Reese's part of things, you'll have a chance to finish off that box of chocolate.

David Spoon:

That's what I'm assuming.

Jamin Jacob:

It's almost gone.

Jamin Jacob:

I'm close to finishing off.

Jamin Jacob:

I probably will this weekend.

David Spoon:

Yeah, probably be gone.

David Spoon:

Probably be done.

David Spoon:

All right, so here's a couple things to tell you.

David Spoon:

So why would you reach out to us?

David Spoon:

Why would you do any of that?

David Spoon:

Okay, look, you got a praise report.

David Spoon:

Bring it.

David Spoon:

People love praise reports.

David Spoon:

They bless other people who hear it.

David Spoon:

Want to know why?

David Spoon:

Because it reminds them that God is active.

David Spoon:

It encourages it in your own life because you're reinforcing it in your own life.

David Spoon:

But more important than both of those things, it glorifies the Lord.

David Spoon:

When you share that, it honors God.

David Spoon:

He's put your feet upon a rock and a new song in your mouth.

David Spoon:

You should share that.

David Spoon:

It will bless other people, but it will honor the Lord.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

And after all, Isaiah 43:7, we were created to bring glory to God.

David Spoon:

Also, if you've got prayer requests, don't hesitate.

David Spoon:

Let's pray.

David Spoon:

We believe in prayer.

David Spoon:

If you didn't believe in prayer, then why did you pray the sinner's prayer?

David Spoon:

Aha.

David Spoon:

Good one, Dave.

David Spoon:

Yeah, okay, I'm just making that point.

David Spoon:

Additionally, it can be something you want to share, a scripture, something that's really just resonating with you, really helping you.

David Spoon:

Maybe you even have a possible answer to something we call Bible trivia.

David Spoon:

Let's see if you can get this one.

David Spoon:

Genesis 37:3 is the reference point.

David Spoon:

Genesis 37:3 who owned a coat that had many colors?

David Spoon:

Who owned a coat that had many colors?

David Spoon:

Genesis 37.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

D stands for Draw closer to the Lord Daily.

David Spoon:

I'll tell you right now, everything that I've gone through in the last 25, 26, 27 years.

David Spoon:

When I spend separate time with God, it anchors me.

David Spoon:

It changes everything around me because it centers me in the Lord and it just makes sure, okay, first him.

David Spoon:

And I encourage you to this year, if you've not done devotions in your life, you've not done separated time unto the Lord.

David Spoon:

I encourage you to enter into that.

David Spoon:

And if you do participate in that, I encourage you to keep on going.

David Spoon:

Don't let the enemy distract you.

David Spoon:

The only way that Satan can stop prayers is by distracting you from praying.

David Spoon:

The only way he can stop you from growing in the Word is by distracting you from the Word.

David Spoon:

Don't let him do that.

David Spoon:

Get the benefit of hanging out with the Lord.

David Spoon:

And all those that draw near to God.

David Spoon:

He draws near to them.

David Spoon:

That's a great commitment for this up and coming year.

David Spoon:

Draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

D N Never be ashamed of Jesus or His words.

David Spoon:

Never.

David Spoon:

The world has been trying to shame people regarding the Word of God from the very beginning.

David Spoon:

And the truth of the matter is that Jesus has His own title, the Word of God.

David Spoon:

There is nothing to be ashamed of and everything to be blessed by as that Word is alive and active and able to bring peace and restoration and rejuvenation to your very heart.

David Spoon:

So never be ashamed of the Word of God.

David Spoon:

That's the N in DNA.

David Spoon:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

A Always be ready.

Jamin Jacob:

To serve.

David Spoon:

Always thoughtful of the Lord and you think, dave, I can't always be thoughtful.

David Spoon:

Let me just say this.

David Spoon:

You can always be ready because the Lord said to be ready.

David Spoon:

And in the Lord you can do everything.

David Spoon:

But if you're a person that gets easily distracted or if you have a hard time doing that, this is the prayer for you.

David Spoon:

Lord, help me to have a better focus on you more often in Jesus name.

David Spoon:

If you pray that prayer, you will get the answer yes and it will happen and you will draw closer to the Lord and he will draw closer to you and your mind and your heart will be more often ready and you will be in a better partnership with God.

David Spoon:

How can anything be better than that?

David Spoon:

Nothing can be.

David Spoon:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or His words.

David Spoon:

A Always be ready to serve Your trivia question then I'm getting into the teaching and it's fascinating.

David Spoon:

Teaching.

David Spoon:

Who owned a coat that had many colors?

David Spoon:

Genesis chapter 37 verse 3.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

In Luke 11 we get the Lord does give us some brilliant hints and understandings in prayer and we are going to review that.

David Spoon:

But we do have somebody calling in so we're going to see if they're going to be ready to answer the trivia question.

David Spoon:

I'm going to find out in just a second.

David Spoon:

Yes they are.

David Spoon:

So we'll do that first because we love doing that.

David Spoon:

Let's do that.

David Spoon:

Let's have the person sent through.

David Spoon:

Knock knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Fred:

God bless you Dr.

Fred:

Spoon.

Fred:

This is Fred.

David Spoon:

Hello Fred, my brother.

David Spoon:

How are ya?

Fred:

I'm doing just fine sir.

Fred:

I just want to take this time out to say Wish you a Happy New Year.

Fred:

Not Happy New Year, but a very fresh, prosperous New Year all year long.

Fred:

God will bless and grant you every desire in your heart.

Fred:

And that God would send.

Fred:

That you would send sponsors a hundredfold.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

I pray in Jesus name.

David Spoon:

I receive that in Jesus name, my brother.

David Spoon:

Excellent, excellent.

Fred:

God bless you.

David Spoon:

God bless you.

Fred:

The answer to your question is this young man is one of the few men of God that never fail.

Fred:

And that man with the many color, the coat of many colors, his name is Joseph.

David Spoon:

That is correct, Amanda.

David Spoon:

I mean, what a guy, right?

David Spoon:

I mean, he goes through all those things and you don't.

David Spoon:

He doesn't.

David Spoon:

There's no long litany of complaint.

David Spoon:

There's only.

David Spoon:

Yep, yep, yep.

Fred:

I think most of us would have been very, very concerned.

Fred:

And maybe.

Fred:

And with God, especially when you knew you had done nothing, and then all of a sudden you're in jail, you're in prison for living life.

Fred:

How do you explain that?

David Spoon:

It's amazing.

David Spoon:

And all of that so that God could save a nation that nobody knew what was going on.

David Spoon:

All of it.

David Spoon:

So he could save a people and nobody knew.

Fred:

Yeah, that's what was never just about Joseph.

Fred:

Yes, you're right.

Fred:

It was all about a nation.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

Oh, excellent job, Fred.

David Spoon:

You are phenomenal.

David Spoon:

We love having you on the show.

Fred:

God bless you and hang up and listen, sir.

David Spoon:

All right, my brother.

David Spoon:

God bless.

David Spoon:

All right, Fred.

David Spoon:

Coming in.

David Spoon:

Excellent, excellent Job.

David Spoon:

Very, very, very powerful.

David Spoon:

All right, I wanna go to this Luke teaching.

David Spoon:

Now, listen, this is the big thing.

David Spoon:

So in Luke 11 and in Matthew 6, you get this breakdown of how to pray.

David Spoon:

Jesus prayed in this manner.

David Spoon:

Jesus said, pray, remember in Luke, in the beginning, in Luke 11, it was the disciples.

David Spoon:

It says it happened that Jesus was praying in a certain place after he finished, one of his disciples said, lord, teach us to pray.

David Spoon:

Just the way that John taught his disciples.

David Spoon:

They saw Jesus pray and they're like, man, you gotta teach us.

David Spoon:

How do we pray?

David Spoon:

So Jesus, using that same model, he said to them, when you pray, say, father, hallowed be youe name.

David Spoon:

This is from the Luke, your kingdom come.

David Spoon:

Give us each day our daily bread and forgive us our sins for we ourselves.

David Spoon:

Also forgive everyone who's indebted to us and lead us not into temptation.

David Spoon:

What's amazing about the model is it actually breaks down into a couple of very simple things.

David Spoon:

It's identify.

David Spoon:

And what do you mean by identify?

David Spoon:

You say, father, who art Thou in heaven?

David Spoon:

You're not praying to mystic angels.

David Spoon:

You're praying to your heavenly Father.

David Spoon:

Identified as a father.

David Spoon:

Well, he's not male.

David Spoon:

He identifies himself as a male, as a father, and by the way, as masculine 10,000 times in the scripture.

David Spoon:

So just like.

David Spoon:

Okay, everybody, be quiet.

David Spoon:

Identify.

David Spoon:

Then number two.

David Spoon:

Honor.

David Spoon:

What's honor?

David Spoon:

Hallowed be your name.

David Spoon:

Then what's the next thing?

David Spoon:

Your kingdom come, which is submission.

David Spoon:

And then he says, give us this day our daily bread, which is provision, actually, provisions forth.

David Spoon:

And then he says this.

David Spoon:

Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive those who are indebted to us.

David Spoon:

Then forgiveness received and given.

David Spoon:

And then he says, and lead us not into temptation.

David Spoon:

Help with spiritual warfare.

David Spoon:

Well, that's all cool, right?

David Spoon:

Except then in verse 5, Jesus said this.

David Spoon:

And this is the part that doesn't get mentioned.

David Spoon:

Then he said to them, suppose one of you has a friend and goes to him at midnight and says, friend, lend me three loaves, for a friend of mine has come from a journey a and I don't have anything to set before him.

David Spoon:

And from inside he answers, don't bother me.

David Spoon:

The door has already been shut and my children and I are in bed.

David Spoon:

I cannot get up and give you anything.

David Spoon:

Sounds like a no to me.

David Spoon:

I don't know about you, folks.

David Spoon:

Verse 8.

David Spoon:

I tell you, even though you will not get up and give him anything because he's his friend, but because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as much as he needs.

David Spoon:

So I say to you, ask and it will be given.

David Spoon:

Seek and you will find.

David Spoon:

Knock and it will be opened to you.

David Spoon:

Jesus gives the breakdown of the prayer.

David Spoon:

The same model that was used in Matthew is used in Luke 9.

David Spoon:

But in Luke in verse 5, he adds this.

David Spoon:

Be persistent.

David Spoon:

And in telling that story, he tells them, his disciples, a story where the guy who's asking a request gets this for a response.

David Spoon:

Don't bother me.

David Spoon:

The door's already been shut.

David Spoon:

My children and I are in bed.

David Spoon:

I cannot get up and give you anything.

David Spoon:

That's four things in this story that he says.

David Spoon:

Don't bother me.

David Spoon:

The door's already closed.

David Spoon:

I'm in bed.

David Spoon:

I can't get up.

David Spoon:

But the story goes on.

David Spoon:

I tell you, even though he would not get up and give him anything because he's a friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as much as he needs.

David Spoon:

Who do you think Jesus is teaching that to?

David Spoon:

He's teaching that to his disciples and you and me.

David Spoon:

Dave, how long do I have to be persistent?

David Spoon:

I don't know.

David Spoon:

I think you do.

David Spoon:

Persistence until you get the answer.

David Spoon:

I think you overcome until you get the breakthrough.

David Spoon:

I think you keep going.

David Spoon:

I think you are absolutely annoying God in this way.

David Spoon:

And he wants it.

David Spoon:

And you're thinking, why?

David Spoon:

And the answer is simple.

David Spoon:

He loves to be pursued and engaged with his children.

David Spoon:

So every time you pray, just went, God, I need this.

David Spoon:

Okay, thanks.

David Spoon:

That's all the time we would spend.

David Spoon:

But God wants us, so he wants us to spend more time.

David Spoon:

So pray the way Jesus said.

David Spoon:

Said to pray with persistence.

David Spoon:

Don't quit.

David Spoon:

Get it?

David Spoon:

Don't quit knocking.

David Spoon:

All right, we'll take a break and then come back.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break.

David Spoon:

We'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

Unknown Caller:

Who is David Spoon?

Unknown Caller:

I have no idea.

Unknown Caller:

People have asked me about the David Spoon Experience.

Unknown Caller:

They wanted to know what I thought of him.

Unknown Caller:

Like any person searching for answers, I have wondered about him.

Unknown Caller:

He was born and raised Jewish and after intense drug use, became a Christian.

Unknown Caller:

He's married to his best friend Noel, has three children, six grandchildren and a dog named Bert.

Unknown Caller:

He has three separate ordinations from three different denominations and and is a summa cum laude for his BA Degree in ministry and leadership as well as a master's degree of theological Studies and has his doctorate of Strategic Christian Ministry.

Unknown Caller:

He has a weird sense of humor and talks a lot.

Unknown Caller:

If people are seeking wisdom and insight from the great teachers around the world, would they go to David?

Unknown Caller:

No, I don't think so.

Unknown Caller:

And those big ears really don't help him.

Unknown Caller:

But would they enjoy his perspective on life, culture, politics, food, sports, local and national news?

Unknown Caller:

I don't know.

Unknown Caller:

I guess people will have to listen.

David Spoon:

To find out what is the David Spoon Experience?

David Spoon:

Then he says this.

David Spoon:

Don't be afraid.

David Spoon:

Why should you not be afraid?

David Spoon:

Because what fear does is immobilizes a person, stops them from moving forward.

David Spoon:

And it also eats away at fear.

David Spoon:

Faith.

David Spoon:

Fear has this way.

David Spoon:

It's kind of like if you think of faith as.

David Spoon:

I'll do this now as chocolate ice cream that has peanut butter in it.

David Spoon:

That's faith.

David Spoon:

Fear is like somebody drilling a hole underneath and then taking a little spoon and then pulling some of that faith down a little, scoop by scoop by scoop by scoop.

David Spoon:

And you don't want your faith reduced because God requires faith to us to engage with him in.

David Spoon:

That's his requirement.

David Spoon:

That's the vehicle by which he has chosen to engage with humanity.

David Spoon:

You don't think God could have said it's me, you're going to believe or I'm going to turn you into a fish.

David Spoon:

I mean, you don't think God could have done that.

David Spoon:

But he chose the vehicle of faith because that's what he wanted from those that would come to him, a confidence, an assurance in the goodness of God.

David Spoon:

So Jesus, first thing he says, ignore it, don't be afraid of it.

David Spoon:

And then he does this one radically crazy, nutsy cuckoo, just believe.

David Spoon:

And we use that in movies and in books and in fairy tales and all that stuff.

David Spoon:

We're not talking about any of that stuff.

David Spoon:

This is believing.

David Spoon:

Looking at a situation just like Abraham did.

David Spoon:

Just like we talked yesterday, how Abraham looked at the circumstance, didn't deny he was old, didn't deny he was past childbearing and said, I'm just gonna believe God anyway.

David Spoon:

That attitude of just believe, it's taking a stand in the framework of your faith that says, I'm not moving.

David Spoon:

Here I am.

David Spoon:

Call me bulldog.

David Spoon:

I'm right here.

David Spoon:

I'm not going nowhere.

David Spoon:

My faith is solid.

David Spoon:

You're here when I need you the most.

David Spoon:

When I need you the most.

David Spoon:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

There's Ka Men 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

As we get ready for our next trivia question and then Jake's take, let's get ready.

David Spoon:

I do want to remind people about something on the website.

David Spoon:

Believe it or not, there is an interview that Robo Noah, Robo producer Noah did with me about two weekends ago.

David Spoon:

It is on there.

David Spoon:

It's a little clunky so if you click on it, you gotta wait for it to open it up, but it will open up and it's about an hour straight of me going blah, blah, blah, blah blah and him asking Questions.

David Spoon:

That's not true.

David Spoon:

He actually asks some really, really good questions.

David Spoon:

I don't typically get interviewed.

David Spoon:

I usually do the interviewing, but this is his opportunity to interview.

David Spoon:

And he's had a show on for several years.

David Spoon:

And so we'll be doing reciprocal links next week.

David Spoon:

But I'm just letting you know that interview is up there.

David Spoon:

If you're totally like, I have nothing to do.

David Spoon:

And I'd just like to hear something.

David Spoon:

It's fascinating.

David Spoon:

It's mostly spiritual.

David Spoon:

And then I would say behind the scenes, it's some other things.

David Spoon:

Like we talk about movies and stuff like that.

David Spoon:

So there is an interview now on the front page of the website.

David Spoon:

On the front page.

David Spoon:

Most everything we do flows off the front page.

David Spoon:

Hemustincrease.org is where you would check that out.

David Spoon:

All right, we do have somebody on the line ready to answer their trivia question.

David Spoon:

Let's go ahead and send them through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Deborah:

Hello, David, It's Deborah.

David Spoon:

Hello, Deborah.

David Spoon:

How are you?

Deborah:

I'm doing very well.

Deborah:

I am very blessed.

Deborah:

How about you?

David Spoon:

I'm doing very well and I am very blessed as well.

David Spoon:

I love that you said it that way.

David Spoon:

That's a great way to say it.

David Spoon:

Did you have a nice Christmas, by the way?

Deborah:

Yes, I did.

Deborah:

How about you?

David Spoon:

I did.

David Spoon:

We had all the kids, all the grandkids, and it was really great till about 7:30 or 8.

David Spoon:

And then grandpa started getting tired and Grandma started getting tired and the parents started getting tired, but none of the kids started getting tired.

David Spoon:

So it was one of those.

David Spoon:

You know what I'm saying?

David Spoon:

It's like, okay, time to wind this down, people.

Deborah:

Okay, I am just making a wild guess on this.

Deborah:

I have no clue.

David Spoon:

Okay, Barnabas, let me set him up and then you can tell me.

David Spoon:

A lime or lime lame.

David Spoon:

A, Lyme.

David Spoon:

A Lyme.

David Spoon:

B, Lemon.

David Spoon:

No.

David Spoon:

A, lame.

David Spoon:

B, deaf.

David Spoon:

C, blind.

David Spoon:

D, leprous.

David Spoon:

What was he, Mark?

David Spoon:

I'm going with D.

David Spoon:

Which was.

David Spoon:

No, which one are we going for?

David Spoon:

Leprous, deaf, lame or blind?

Deborah:

Lame.

David Spoon:

Okay, but then let's do this.

David Spoon:

If he kept bumping into things, he might be blind.

David Spoon:

That is correct, Emma.

David Spoon:

No, you know, it's crazy because I.

Deborah:

Am myself and I didn't even guess that.

David Spoon:

Sorry.

David Spoon:

Is that something called blind bartima?

David Spoon:

It's like, yeah.

David Spoon:

He's like, yeah, I can't see.

David Spoon:

It's like, what do you want me to do?

David Spoon:

I can't see.

David Spoon:

Dude, this is what I want.

David Spoon:

I want it right this, right now.

David Spoon:

And So I thought that was funny because some people were like, well, I wanna play the piano.

David Spoon:

No, I wanna see.

David Spoon:

What do you mean, what do I want?

David Spoon:

And that's great that he does that.

David Spoon:

And it's like his faith is strong and I love it.

David Spoon:

But that's still excellent, excellent job.

David Spoon:

And you got there.

David Spoon:

It didn't take you much to get there, so.

Deborah:

Ah, well, I told you it was a wildcast anyway.

David Spoon:

I love that you did it, you know that?

Deborah:

Well, God bless you, David.

Deborah:

And you too, Jacob.

David Spoon:

All right, God bless you.

Jamin Jacob:

Thank you, Dever.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome sauce.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right, we are gonna do Jake's take right now.

David Spoon:

Let's do Jake's take right now.

David Spoon:

All right, my friend, what do we got going on in the world of football sports?

Jamin Jacob:

Well, the Dallas Cowboys take on the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday at Philadelphia.

Jamin Jacob:

Tough game.

Jamin Jacob:

So I'm going to give my pick with the Cowboys.

Jamin Jacob:

Eagles.

Jamin Jacob:

I'm going to unfortunately go with the Eagles to win Sunday.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

I have to agree with that call.

David Spoon:

I just have to.

David Spoon:

Yeah, because it's in Philly.

David Spoon:

That's a tough place.

Jamin Jacob:

Yes, yes, it's in Philly.

David Spoon:

Tough place for anybody to play.

David Spoon:

So I don't think Dallas is ready for that.

David Spoon:

Okay, Philly.

David Spoon:

I'm going with that.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

What about the other team?

Jamin Jacob:

And then, David, your Detroit Lions play Monday night against The San Francisco 49ers in San Francisco, even though it's in San Francisco.

Jamin Jacob:

I'm going to go with the Lions to keep winning and improve to 13 and 3.

Jamin Jacob:

Lions are a winning franchise, David.

David Spoon:

Yeah, I am also going with the Lions.

David Spoon:

I'm just going to have to.

David Spoon:

I just have to be a loyalist.

David Spoon:

I mean, even when they were 0:15 and playing that last game, I went with the Lions, which I know was a terrible idea.

David Spoon:

Yes, I also agree with that.

David Spoon:

We will go with that.

David Spoon:

I will do that with you.

David Spoon:

We will either swim together or sink together.

David Spoon:

Good luck to you, my friend.

Jamin Jacob:

I'll make you talk about how good the Lions are this year.

Jamin Jacob:

I'll go ahead and say, if the Lions win the super bowl this year, I will buy you a Lions super bowl shirt.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

I'm for it.

David Spoon:

And I'll tell you what, I'll do the same thing.

David Spoon:

If the Dallas Cowboys win the Super Bowl, I'll buy you a.

David Spoon:

Oh, wait, they can't.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

My bet's a little more sure than yours.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

I'm just saying.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

But I appreciate that.

Jamin Jacob:

That was a good one.

Jamin Jacob:

That was a good one.

David Spoon:

All Right, let's get to this next teach.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

I'm not going to break yet.

David Spoon:

I might not break at all.

David Spoon:

Who knows?

David Spoon:

There's 30 minutes left for the week.

David Spoon:

You want to get something out of this?

David Spoon:

Okay, good.

David Spoon:

Joshua, chapter seven, verse one through five.

David Spoon:

And I think this is really fascinating because I don't want you to miss what I'm going to try and communicate.

David Spoon:

And I might not do a great job, but bear with me.

David Spoon:

Help me out.

David Spoon:

It says this, but the sons of Israel acted unfaithfully in regard to the things under the ban.

David Spoon:

For Achan, the son of Khemri, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah from the tribe of Judah, took some things under the ban.

David Spoon:

Therefore, the anger of the Lord burned against the sons of Israel.

David Spoon:

Now Joshua sent men from Jericho to AI, which is near Beth Haven, east of Bethel, and said to them, go up and spy the land.

David Spoon:

So they went up and they spied out AI.

David Spoon:

They returned to Joshua and said to him, don't let all the people go up.

David Spoon:

Only about two or three thousand men need to go.

David Spoon:

Let them go to AI.

David Spoon:

Do not make all the people toil up there, for they're just a few people.

David Spoon:

Verse 4.

David Spoon:

So about 3,000 men from the people went up there, but they fled from the men of AI.

David Spoon:

The men of AI struck down about 36 of their men and pursued them from the gate as far as Sheborim and struck them down on the descent.

David Spoon:

So the hearts of the people melted and became as water.

David Spoon:

Here is the deal, okay?

David Spoon:

This isn't God saying, you're no longer my people.

David Spoon:

And when you sin, it's not like the Lord didn't know.

David Spoon:

I don't know why people think this.

David Spoon:

When you got justified through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ, it wasn't like God didn't know what you were going to do.

David Spoon:

God always was, always is, and always will be.

David Spoon:

He functions in an interlinear process.

David Spoon:

He knows everything you're going to do, good, bad, or indifferent.

David Spoon:

Got it?

David Spoon:

But the lesson that you get out of Joshua 7:1:5 is simply this.

David Spoon:

When we have active and un acknowledged sin in our lives.

David Spoon:

Now, by active I mean it's active.

David Spoon:

And by unacknowledged, you're not coming before the Lord and going, I am doing this.

David Spoon:

When we have sin that is active and unacknowledged, there is something that happens.

David Spoon:

It's not going to be the end of your salvation, but it reduces our power.

David Spoon:

It reduces our ability to stand up against the enemy.

David Spoon:

It eliminates our courage, in fact, to be really honest.

David Spoon:

If we're stuck in sin and it's unacknowledged, it strips us of confidence.

David Spoon:

That's just the truth you already know without me even saying this part, especially knowing 1 Thessalonians 5:19, it quenches and grieves the Holy Spirit.

David Spoon:

Ephesians 4, 30 and 1 Thessalonians 5: 19, it quenches.

David Spoon:

Quenches means squishes, grieves, means makes sad.

David Spoon:

This is how you know the Holy Spirit's a person.

David Spoon:

Because you can't make sad a power.

David Spoon:

They make sad a person.

David Spoon:

And so this whole thing is, when we have that going on, it really hurts.

David Spoon:

Hurts us.

David Spoon:

So when you're going into this next year and we're gearing up, and if the Lord brings something to you, or an attention, or you know you're doing it, don't try and hide it.

David Spoon:

Don't try and put it.

David Spoon:

Don't try and sanctify your sin.

David Spoon:

Bring it before the Lord.

David Spoon:

Be honest.

David Spoon:

Be truthful.

David Spoon:

Lay it out there.

David Spoon:

Listen, even times when you're afraid can be sin.

David Spoon:

You know that, right?

David Spoon:

Even times when you're allowing doubt to overcome your faith, that can be sin.

David Spoon:

And if you're struggling with it, then you bring it before the Lord.

David Spoon:

You don't deny it.

David Spoon:

You don't sit there.

David Spoon:

And what you don't do as a Christian is you don't pie in the sky in the sense that you're honest with God.

David Spoon:

If you can't be honest with God, you're not honest with yourself.

David Spoon:

That's the key in that he already knows this is going on in you.

David Spoon:

Bring it to him.

David Spoon:

Acknowledge it.

David Spoon:

If you acknowledge it and confess it and ask for help in it, the Lord is not going to turn his face away from you.

David Spoon:

He will turn towards you.

David Spoon:

He will try to help you, encourage you, send people that will bless you.

David Spoon:

You have to acknowledge it and bring it before the Lord.

David Spoon:

Not doing that strips you of power.

David Spoon:

It takes away your courage.

David Spoon:

It takes away your confidence.

David Spoon:

It quenches and grieves the Holy Spirit.

David Spoon:

Bring it to the Lord and own it.

David Spoon:

That is the way that you handle it.

David Spoon:

Don't hide it, don't hollow it, don't build a monument to it.

David Spoon:

Bring it before the King so that he can help you overcome.

David Spoon:

It's not the penalty that's the problem in this.

David Spoon:

It's the reduction of your faith and power in the Lord.

David Spoon:

That's what you really need to be aware of.

David Spoon:

He knows you've got failings and he loves you, but don't try and tuck it away.

David Spoon:

Lay it out before him.

David Spoon:

You get that?

David Spoon:

All right, now we'll take a break and then we'll probably not take another.

David Spoon:

You are listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the true station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break, we'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

David Spoon:

Here we go.

David Spoon:

Let me give you an update on Easton Scott.

David Spoon:

A lot of tough stuff that my daughter and my son in law have been going through.

David Spoon:

I did send an email out.

David Spoon:

I don't know if Julie, if you got the email or not.

David Spoon:

I just sent it out to everybody.

David Spoon:

So he was going through 20 and 30 seizures per episode and they've got that down to a dramatically less amount.

David Spoon:

But the sad news is that from a medical point of view, Easton does not, it does not appear as, according to the doctors, that he will be able to speak or will be able to care for himself.

David Spoon:

And so what the result of that is is that Julianne and Jared, my son in law and my daughter have recognized that God has put them in a position to be the best parents to love Easton Scott with all that they can and give them the best life that they can.

David Spoon:

But while that's going on, they're not going to stop believing that something can change.

David Spoon:

And the doctors even said this is territory we don't even know.

David Spoon:

Right.

Unknown Caller:

Because this is a problem that not.

David Spoon:

Very many people have had.

David Spoon:

So very few.

David Spoon:

Everybody is different.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

And they have like 230 total cases in the world that they have records on, which is like, so they're like, we don't know.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

And it's like, so I just wanna read this one thing my daughter wrote.

David Spoon:

It's a fantastic.

David Spoon:

She wrote this.

David Spoon:

You know, it's not easy to sit there and write a Facebook post that tells all the things they've been going through.

David Spoon:

And so I'm not gonna read everything, but I'm gonna read the last paragraph cause I thought that was really significant.

David Spoon:

She wrote, scientifically, Easton does not have much of a chance.

David Spoon:

His best case scenario is he may possibly be able to walk and say three to five words one day.

David Spoon:

But God can help him.

David Spoon:

He's not afraid of impossible odds.

David Spoon:

And if Easton is healed one day, there will be no question as to where it comes from.

David Spoon:

It will not be because of therapy.

David Spoon:

It will not be because of medication or diet.

David Spoon:

It will be because of God's undeniable healing power.

David Spoon:

So in the meantime, we choose to raise A hallelujah.

David Spoon:

And trust in God, ladies and gentlemen, that is faith.

David Spoon:

Now, the idea that it's going to be simple and everything's going to be great and they're trying to make pie in the sky that doesn't exist at all.

David Spoon:

If you read this, and I think Wonder Julia can attest to it.

David Spoon:

She tells you this is ugly, right?

David Spoon:

This is not a good situation.

David Spoon:

It's going to change our lives.

David Spoon:

He's never going to be able to be unattended.

David Spoon:

It doesn't look good.

David Spoon:

And you know, as a parent, you're heartbroken.

David Spoon:

They have two other children.

David Spoon:

They don't want to have any loss in their communication with their kids.

David Spoon:

But they're going to have to give extra attention.

David Spoon:

They were going to have a fourth child.

David Spoon:

They're not sure they're going to do that now.

David Spoon:

So you got a lot of things in play.

David Spoon:

But what you can't deny is that I won't take credit, but I'll stand in there as a grandparent and as a parent and say what a fantastic position of faith that my daughter has grown into.

David Spoon:

She has made the determination that she will do the best that she can as a human being to give this child the best life she can.

David Spoon:

And she will not quit hoping.

David Spoon:

Oh, welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at KAAMC 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

This Ka Man, 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Now that Phil is several years old and last night I was able to hold Easton on my lap.

David Spoon:

And as he was sitting there, I was rubbing his little hip, right?

David Spoon:

Cause his joints often can hurt him.

David Spoon:

And then he was reaching back and grabbing the very little hair on my face and pulling on it on my little facial hair.

David Spoon:

Very little.

David Spoon:

But he's got a pretty strong little grip.

David Spoon:

And so he's come just so far.

David Spoon:

He's done all these things that nobody else ever thought he would ever do.

David Spoon:

And he multiple times laughs and he smiles and he makes noises and kind of communicates.

David Spoon:

And so now the reason I don't take that fill out, so you're like, well, why don't you take that fill out?

David Spoon:

Because it's several years old.

David Spoon:

Because the decision that they made to stand firm in faith is an inspiring one.

David Spoon:

And I think that's inspiring for people to hear and that we all need to have that.

David Spoon:

Recognizing that whatever you're going through, sometimes you gotta just raise a hallelujah and have full confidence in the Lord, whether you get it or not trusting that he knows how to do this right.

David Spoon:

And now Ethan's like, you know, miles and miles past that.

David Spoon:

And in fact, there is another child that's Anna, Anna Banana.

David Spoon:

And of all the four kids that they have now, so you have Eddie, Bug, Isaiah, Anthony Easton, Scott, and Anna.

David Spoon:

Anna is the little pistol child.

David Spoon:

That's all I'm gonna say.

David Spoon:

She's two going on 400.

David Spoon:

No, I want this.

David Spoon:

No, no.

David Spoon:

I mean, it's just hilarious.

David Spoon:

She's very, very, very, very.

David Spoon:

What's the word I'm looking for?

David Spoon:

She's very much got a will.

David Spoon:

She's a 2 year old with a will.

David Spoon:

Let me just say that real quickly.

David Spoon:

I'll just leave that there.

David Spoon:

So I just think that's kind of cool on the overall.

David Spoon:

All right, let me do a trivia question and we are going to do either history or a joke.

David Spoon:

And then we're gonna do this final teaching, which is really a really cool teaching.

David Spoon:

But in between all that, I'm going to send you to the website and I'll explain why.

David Spoon:

First, here's your trivia question.

David Spoon:

What Bible guy in the New Testament, in a story being told.

David Spoon:

Listen to everything I just said.

David Spoon:

What Bible guy in the New Testament, in a story being told ate food that was given to the pigs?

David Spoon:

Luke 15, 11, 16.

David Spoon:

What Bible guy ate food that was given to the pigs?

David Spoon:

In a story being told?

David Spoon:

He was ate food given to pigs.

David Spoon:

This is a story that was being told, a parable.

David Spoon:

What Bible guy ate food that was given to pigs?

David Spoon:

And Luke 15, 11, 16 will be your reference point.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or you can send an email.

David Spoon:

Davidemustincrease.org so now I want to talk to you about sending you up to the website.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

We are paying radio rent at the end of this show.

David Spoon:

So I am looking for every last moment.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Well, I'm a little Jewish and so that's a little bit of wisdom on my part there.

David Spoon:

Here's what we'd say to you.

David Spoon:

If you've been given and you give often, we appreciate that and you should know that.

David Spoon:

We really do.

David Spoon:

If you've never given, we would really appreciate you asking the Lord and seeing if that's workable for you.

David Spoon:

And if not, no matter where you're at in this situation, please pray for us.

David Spoon:

We function off of the donations.

David Spoon:

I hate talking about it, but it's a part of what I got to do.

David Spoon:

And the Lord keeps chiding me, that's one of my sins that I have to confess.

David Spoon:

And I do.

David Spoon:

And it's like, look, we can only do it if the people are giving.

David Spoon:

That's how this ministry operates.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

I don't make any money.

David Spoon:

I do want to say we have some phenomenal people that give.

David Spoon:

And in lieu of that, I'd like to point out that even in the giving, some people give and we should do a little bit more responsiveness to them.

David Spoon:

Like, for example, we told you before that Elizabeth forever.

David Spoon:

And if you are ever looking for a massage, she gives to our ministry and we appreciate it.

David Spoon:

And she's got a business, a Christian business, and she wants to be a blessing to other Christians.

David Spoon:

So if you're ever looking for any kind of massage, Elizabeth is the way to go.

David Spoon:

Noel already went and Noah's like, phenomenal.

David Spoon:

I mean, this is just great.

David Spoon:

And just so you can be aware of that, it's a blessing she wants to give to other people.

David Spoon:

How do you not love that?

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

So in a nutshell, I'm going to give you her phone number, and if you ever want to set something up with her, I think you'll be okay with that.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

And so the idea behind that is she's a blessing to us.

David Spoon:

We want to be a blessing to her.

David Spoon:

That's her business, bless her business.

David Spoon:

And if you're able to give and do, great, if you got a business and you need help and you need other brothers and sisters praying and we can do something like announce it for you like we just did with Elizabeth.

David Spoon:

Tell us we'll do it.

David Spoon:

Because our big thing here is to help one another.

David Spoon:

That's it.

David Spoon:

So if you can help, great.

David Spoon:

If you can't, don't worry.

David Spoon:

And even if you can't give, we'll still talk about your business.

David Spoon:

Want to know why?

David Spoon:

Because other brothers and sisters can bless you.

David Spoon:

And that's what we're trying to do.

David Spoon:

Be that kind of hub for that kind of thing.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

Don't forget to check out our website.

David Spoon:

We'll send you there now.

David Spoon:

Hemustincrease.org prayer request.

David Spoon:

Hemostincrease.org praise report.

David Spoon:

Hemustincrease.org looking to give to this ministry.

David Spoon:

He mustincrease.org confused by what's happening right now.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org hemustincrease.org you still here?

David Spoon:

It's over.

David Spoon:

Go home.

David Spoon:

Well, don't go home yet.

David Spoon:

You got 14 minutes.

David Spoon:

Okay, we do have somebody ready to answer a trivia question.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Bobby:

This is Bobby out here in Climax.

David Spoon:

Hi, Bobby, how are ya?

Bobby:

I'm doing pretty good.

Bobby:

I gotta go to the orthopedic to have him look at my hip.

Bobby:

I fell the other day and I just kept on trucking sore.

David Spoon:

I wanna pray for you at the end of this, though, Bobby, just for the Lord to kind of help you move it along, if that's okay.

Bobby:

All right.

Bobby:

I appreciate it.

David Spoon:

You got it.

David Spoon:

All right, let's set you up on this one.

David Spoon:

Which Bible guy ate, from a story being told, ate food that was given to the pigs?

Bobby:

Well, I don't know his name, but I think it's the prodigal son.

David Spoon:

That is correct, Amundo, sir.

David Spoon:

What's amazing about the story is people don't realize that Jesus telling people that he was eating food given to pigs was like, that's as far down as you can go.

David Spoon:

You can't go any farther.

David Spoon:

That is the lowest in their society, in their culture.

David Spoon:

They wouldn't eat the pigs.

David Spoon:

And now this guy's eating food that is given to pigs.

David Spoon:

It's just showing how far down he went.

David Spoon:

Like, wow.

Bobby:

Yeah, yeah.

Bobby:

They didn't take care of pigs.

Bobby:

That was the.

Bobby:

Oh, I can't think of it.

Bobby:

The Gentiles that usually had pigs.

David Spoon:

That's correct.

David Spoon:

You're exactly, exactly correct.

David Spoon:

All right, let me pray over you, Bobby.

David Spoon:

Cause I want the Lord to kind of bless you physically.

David Spoon:

Okay, thank you.

David Spoon:

All right, let's pray.

David Spoon:

Father, we come before you right now.

David Spoon:

Lift up our brother Bobby.

David Spoon:

He's gotta have this checked out.

David Spoon:

He fell.

David Spoon:

Lord, it could be this, it could be that.

David Spoon:

I have no idea what it is.

David Spoon:

I'm not sure Bobby knows what it is.

David Spoon:

The doctor probably will know what it is, but you don't definitely know what it is.

David Spoon:

And we ask you to bring your healing power into his body and help.

David Spoon:

And that it would turn out to be a okie dokie, not a big deal scenario.

David Spoon:

And that's exactly what we're praying that it would be.

David Spoon:

A little thing, not a big thing, and something that's simplified.

David Spoon:

And let there be a simple sense of peace and no fear and a great deal of comfort and confidence in you.

David Spoon:

And in your graciousness, for.

David Spoon:

For Bobby, we pray that in Jesus name, Amen and amen.

Bobby:

Amen.

Bobby:

Glory be to God.

David Spoon:

Glory be to the Lord.

Bobby:

Thank you so much.

David Spoon:

You are welcome, my brother.

David Spoon:

We love you.

David Spoon:

And just keep us posted how it's going and we will continue.

Bobby:

All right, Love y'all too.

Bobby:

Y'all have a good new year.

David Spoon:

All right, Take care, bro.

Bobby:

Thank you.

Bobby:

Bye.

Bobby:

Bye.

David Spoon:

All right, so now it's kind of up to Jim and Jacob.

David Spoon:

He's got to pick.

David Spoon:

It's either two jokes or history.

David Spoon:

But let me look at history.

David Spoon:

Nah, it's kind of 50.

David Spoon:

50.

Jamin Jacob:

The history is 50.

David Spoon:

50 the 50.

David Spoon:

It's the joke and the history are kind of like neither one is exceedingly outshining the other.

Jamin Jacob:

Okay, let's go with history.

David Spoon:

Let's go with history.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right, let's do history.

David Spoon:

Here we go.

David Spoon:

History.

David Spoon:

Let's go.

David Spoon:

Let him.

David Spoon:

All right, so today is technically national Fruitcake Day.

David Spoon:

For those that do not know, you've all been fooled.

David Spoon:

There's actually one single fruitcake on the entire planet, and everybody has been passing it around for 3,000 years.

David Spoon:

Okay, just solve that one right there.

Jamin Jacob:

I was going to say, you know, the best place to put a fruitcake?

Jamin Jacob:

In the trash can.

David Spoon:

Now, we know there's a lot of people listening to the show that love fruitcake, so you don't have to tell us.

David Spoon:

We love.

David Spoon:

We know we do this for this is our sixth Christmas.

David Spoon:

We get it.

David Spoon:

We get it.

David Spoon:

But let's just point out there's only one fruitcake in all the world.

David Spoon:

It just gets getting past person.

David Spoon:

All right, the other thing that I thought was interesting, and you guys will enjoy this.

David Spoon:

In:

David Spoon:

It's Howdy Doody time.

David Spoon:

It's Howdy Doody.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

Most people are, like, going, okay, Dave, thanks a lot.

David Spoon:

All right, let's get to our final.

David Spoon:

Let's get to our final teaching.

David Spoon:

Don't forget next week.

David Spoon:

Wednesday.

David Spoon:

Wednesday.

David Spoon:

Okay, Wednesday.

David Spoon:

Not doing the show, but we are doing a really, really good.

David Spoon:

Really good replay.

David Spoon:

Top five replay.

David Spoon:

And then additionally, don't forget to pray for us, for our finances.

David Spoon:

Here's your last top teaching coming out of Isaiah, ironically.

David Spoon:

40, 28, 31.

David Spoon:

This is just.

David Spoon:

I call this.

David Spoon:

And so it has a title.

David Spoon:

It's called Fast Track to Rejuvenation.

David Spoon:

Fast Track to rejuvenation.

David Spoon:

Isaiah 40, 28, 31.

David Spoon:

Here's what it says.

David Spoon:

Listen to this.

David Spoon:

It says this is super, super cool.

David Spoon:

Do you not know?

David Spoon:

Have you not heard?

David Spoon:

YHWH is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth.

David Spoon:

He never grows faint or weary.

David Spoon:

There is no limit to his understanding.

David Spoon:

He gives strength to the weary and strengthens the powerless.

David Spoon:

Youth, strength may faint and grow weary, and young men stumble and fall.

David Spoon:

But those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength.

David Spoon:

They will soar on wings like eagles.

David Spoon:

They will run and not grow weary.

David Spoon:

They will walk and not faint.

David Spoon:

What I love about this text, and many of you know this text, it's not unfamiliar to you.

David Spoon:

For those that are not sure, Isaiah 40, 28, 31.

David Spoon:

What I love about this text is this.

David Spoon:

In the beginning of it, the author Isaiah writes, do you not know?

David Spoon:

Have you not heard?

David Spoon:

Heard?

David Spoon:

See, for me, as a gospel guy, I think that's like, don't you know?

David Spoon:

Haven't you heard?

David Spoon:

It's like.

David Spoon:

And then you start talking about the gospel.

David Spoon:

It's like, that's exactly what Isaiah is doing in this communication.

David Spoon:

It's like, don't you know this?

David Spoon:

Haven't you heard this?

David Spoon:

And then you're like, wait, wait, wait, don't I know?

David Spoon:

Haven't I heard what?

David Spoon:

And then it's this.

David Spoon:

Yahweh is an everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth.

David Spoon:

He never grows faint or weary.

David Spoon:

Listen to this.

David Spoon:

Haven't you heard?

David Spoon:

God doesn't get tired now, being older.

David Spoon:

Say that real humbly.

David Spoon:

Being older than I was many, many moons ago.

David Spoon:

Okay, I now do in fact get tired.

David Spoon:

I actually get a little weary.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

It's true.

David Spoon:

It's true.

David Spoon:

God never is weary where he's tired or faint.

David Spoon:

He gets tired of hearing people complain.

David Spoon:

That's Malachi chapter two.

David Spoon:

That's different.

David Spoon:

He doesn't get weary.

David Spoon:

He.

David Spoon:

He doesn't get tired.

David Spoon:

He doesn't tire out.

David Spoon:

Your God, who sustains you, who strengthens you, who loves you, who stands by you, who puts up with you and still stands by you, never gets tired.

David Spoon:

He never gets weary.

David Spoon:

And in fact, there is no limit to his understanding.

David Spoon:

He knows everything that we do and everything we go through, and he gives strength to the weary, and he strengthens the powerless.

David Spoon:

You know, when you know, you need to be poured into.

David Spoon:

There are many places you can go, and many church situations are excellent.

David Spoon:

Many fellowship situations are excellent.

David Spoon:

Many opportunities for these kinds of things are all excellent.

David Spoon:

But there is nothing as good as he who never gets one weary, pouring into you his strength.

David Spoon:

There's nothing like it.

David Spoon:

He who never gets tired gives to us who do get tired.

David Spoon:

But there's a caveat.

David Spoon:

Verse 30.

David Spoon:

Youths may faint and grow weary.

David Spoon:

Young men stumble and fall.

David Spoon:

But those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength.

David Spoon:

That's the caveat.

David Spoon:

You can't take that out.

David Spoon:

Trusting in the Lord renews us.

David Spoon:

You know that scripture.

David Spoon:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart.

David Spoon:

Lean not on your own understanding.

David Spoon:

In all your ways, acknowledge Him.

David Spoon:

He will direct your paths well.

David Spoon:

That trusting part enables the refreshing, renewing, strengthening, lifting up part to come to you.

David Spoon:

We have to be trusting when we are trusting, not trusted, but trusting, which is perfect, present tense.

David Spoon:

When we are trusting in the Lord, he renews us.

David Spoon:

He who never gets tired.

David Spoon:

So when you're in that situation and you know you can't handle it, and you know it's getting past you and you're even getting tired of the whole thing, it's putting it into the hands of the Lord and entrusting it into him that then enables you to to receive renewal and strengthening and refreshing and rejuvenation from God Himself, who never gets tired.

David Spoon:

That's the ticket.

David Spoon:

The fast track to rejuvenation is trusting in the Lord.

David Spoon:

And when you're weary, turning your face to the Lord and He will renew your strength, you will soar on wings like eagles.

David Spoon:

You will run and not grow weary.

David Spoon:

If the strength you get is from the Lord, and you get it by trusting Him.

David Spoon:

Get it.

David Spoon:

All right folks, you've been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the true station here in Texas, taking a 72 and 1 half hour break.

David Spoon:

Then we'll come back more insanity with Spoonanity.

David Spoon:

Talk to you then.

David Spoon:

Who knows when a broken heart will man.
